Janette Mackinlay, 1948 - 2010 was an artist, 9/11 survivor and activist for 9/11 Truth and justice.  This video (in 2 parts) shows Janette's presentation at the University of California Davis on May 1, 2009. 

The occasion was Prof. Steven E. Jones' first public presentation of his research on dust from the World Trade Center.  Janette was the first person to give Prof. Jones a sample of dust from the World Trade Center.  Prof. Jones, Prof. Niels Harrit and other scientists found red gray chips in the dust, some visible to the naked eye.  Scientific examination revealed that these were unexploded pieces of nanothermite, a military grade explosive researched and developed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories in Livermore, California.

Let us remember Janette and think of her especially on her birthday, which is on Saturday, February 26th, by synchronicity a day in 2011 which might go down in history as “the day Americans woke up,” following the example of numerous other countries, rallies and demonstrations have been called for throughout the US to challenge the policies which enrich the few and impoverish the many. We will gather together the following day, on Sunday, February 27, 2011 to celebrate Janette’s life-- some of us in New York, and some in California--to share mementos, memories, food, drink, and stories about our dear friend, her life, her wake up call, which merits our attention, love, and appreciation.

Janette was a beautiful, caring and creative person. She lived next to the World Trade Center and barely survived 9/11. The toxicity took her life 10 years later. Janette was one of the 9/11 survivors who provided the WTC dust samples which were analyzed with the results being published in the Active Thermitic Material paper. Janette worked to heal her trauma through her art and she created much beauty out of her pain. I'm thankful for the time we spent together.

Hey everyone. I just got off the phone with Michele Little, who's given me an update on a developing medical issue with Janette MacKinlay. Although I'm not at liberty to disclose her exact condition yet, I offered to make a post asking for some positive thoughts to be sent her way. Needless to say, she needs them right now.

So, this is a request for anyone reading this to keep Janette in mind and hope for a speedy recovery, I'll post again with any information as it becomes available.

Last week it became official! At least ten towns in New Hampshire will have the following question on the ballot at this spring’s town meetings:

Shall New Hampshire’s Congressional Delegation be instructed to pursue a new and independent investigation to address thoroughly all of the evidence and unanswered questions related to the events of September 11, 2001?

Voters in Hanover and Stoddard, which have later deadlines, will file their petitions in the next few weeks to bring the total to 12 towns. Most towns will have their town meetings on March 9, while Hanover, Stoddard and Peterborough will have them on May 11. The dozens of determined individuals in New Hampshire who have worked very hard since early December - from collecting signatures in the bitter cold to holding weekly organizing meetings - deserve a huge round of applause, and it is now up to us give them all the help they need to ensure their campaign is a success.

Janette MacKinlay, artist, author, activist, friend (See http://www.911blogger.com/node/22460), has been diagnosed, and will undergo extensive brain surgery on Friday, February 12, 2010. The surgery is scheduled to last four hours and Janette will have to be awake throughout the surgery, speaking, and being asked to move her limbs. Her ability to speak was impaired by the tumor and they anticipate that she will lose her ability to speak during the operation. The prognosis remains grim. She does appreciate all the thoughts, love, remedies, cures, directed her way. She is in the care of her two sons who are giving her devoted attention during this time of crisis.

Many people have sent me suggestions for cures, remedies, and I haven't passed them all on. I did give her a copy of the recipe for herbs that helped my fiance many years ago. I must respect and support Janette's choice of treatment, especially since she is in the care of her family and the decision is a very personal one which most powerfully affects her and the people caring for her. All we can do is offer her our love and support.

On January 26, 2010, Janette MacKinlay, a survivor of 9/11, underwent surgery, a biopsy, following the discovery of a brain tumor last week. I saw her in the hospital following the surgery, and she was her warm, gracious, lucid self, even sharing with me the latest examples of note cards she has had printed, featuring her beautiful ikebana art images. Last September, we had worked together on the 9/11 Film Festival, held at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, California to draw attention to many 9/11 issues, including the plight of the those suffering from their exposure to the toxic dust, over 800 have died so far, that we know about. Janette believes that her tumor was probably caused by 9/11 and that she, along with many, many, others will be counted as victims of 9/11, as more and more “cancers and tumors” are found.

We are one week away from the eighth anniversary of 9/11/2001. Eight years ago next Friday, our world changed.

There are many unanswered questions, and many people who won't rest until they get the answers. During the first hour of tonight's show, I'll speak with two of them.

Manny Badillo lost his uncle in the World Trade Center on 9/11. Janette Mackinlay lived right across the street from the twin towers, and was in her apartment when the planes hit, and blew her windows out... and lots of debris in.

Both are now involved with the NYC Coalition for Accountability Now (http://www.nyccan.org/)-- a non-partisan organization comprised of 9/11 families, survivors and concerned citizens committed to bringing about an independent, impartial investigation into the events of 9/11/01.

He is joined by Frank Morales, who will safeguard funds for NYCCAN.org - Behind Walter and Morales are some familiar names; Donna Marsh O’Connor, Bob McIlvaine, Bill Doyle, Janette MacKinlay and William Rodriguez, who have formed an interim Executive Council for the coalition. This reorganization is the result of feedback that has effected change in the handling of the petition. NYCCAN also offers a new email address for further feedback, that will be accessible by the Executive Council. This could include opinions on the current membership of the commission, which can be changed once the commission has been established. THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW

To place a public referendum for an impartial, independent and subpoena powered investigation of 9/11 on the New York City Ballot for the November General Election.

The 9/11 Commission was set up in 2002 to “provide the fullest possible account of the events surrounding 9/11”. What we got instead, in the words of Commission Chairs Governor Thomas Kean and Representative Lee Hamilton, was a Commission “Set up to fail”. A joint statement from both sides of the aisle is a rarity. This one speaks volumes.

AMERICA DESERVES BETTER

Today, over 66% of New York City residents support a new 9/11 investigation. Millions now know that critical questions were left unaddressed. Only an objective, independent, subpoena powered investigation can ask the right people the relevant questions the 9/11 Commission certainly did not. Only an impartial investigation, free from intervention and powered by subpoena, can deliver the answers that every American deserves.

Janette MacKinlay is a WTC survivor, a truth activist and an artist. She provided the dust samples that Professor Steven Jones used to isolate the telltale signatures of thermate. On Truth Revolution Radio, Janette talks about surviving that day, the apparent foreknowledge of the second tower's demolition on the part of police officers in the area and how she slowly came to accept the truth about 9/11.
