The CIA and US Media Roles in Destabilizing Iran

By Michael Green

While everyone who writes about the recent Iranian election has very strong opinions, very few have very many, if any, firm facts. Even such a seemingly solid article by Mr. ZMag, Stephen Zunes, i.e., "Has the Election Been Stolen in Iran?" Posted on June 13, 2009, Printed on June 14, 2009, http://www.alternet.org/story/140626/
makes broad claims and assertions of patent theft without citing a single source or providing a satisfactory example of any of his claims. I have emailed Professor Zunes for solid examples and have asked him how he obtained so much information so quickly, but have not had a reply (his sites advises that he typically cannot answer all inquiries). For example, Zunes writes from the omniscient perspective:

Iran Faces Greater Risks Than It Knows
by Paul Craig Roberts

Stephen Kinzer’s book, All the Shah’s Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror, tells the story of the overthrow of Iran’s democratically-elected leader, Mohammed Mosaddeq, by the CIA and the British MI6 in 1953. The CIA bribed Iranian government officials, businessmen, and reporters, and paid Iranians to demonstrate in the streets.

The 1953 street demonstrations, together with the Cold War claim that the US had to grab Iran before the Soviets did, served as the US government’s justification for overthrowing Iranian democracy. What the Iranian people wanted was not important.

Today, the street demonstrations in Tehran show signs of orchestration. The protesters, primarily young people, especially young women opposed to the dress codes, carry signs written in English: "Where is My Vote?" The signs are intended for the western media—not for the Iranian government.

They did it on 911 got away with it, so here we go again with the Iran Election SPIN

Arnaud de Borchgrave presented with 9-11 truth on C-SPAN

Today on C-SPAN, a caller asked a question about the presence of thermite in the World Trade Center dust and its implications for American foreign policy. I wrote the entire program up as an entry for a diary on OpEdNews. The last graph contains the 9-11 question.

New Middle East war on the horizon, says foreign policy expert

By Peter Duveen

PETER'S NEW YORK, Monday, June 1, 2009--In a revealing and informative interview, journalist and foreign policy expert Arnaud de Borchgrave said today there is no relief in sight for what ails the Israelis and the Palestinians, and that a war involving the two parties was all but inevitable. He also said Iran was close to obtaining a nuclear weapon, but that military action against that country by the United States or Israel was not a realistic option.

TEXT: Israel-US Memorandum of Understanding signed 16 January 2009

(Posted on Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, here is the text signed on the eve of the Israeli unilateral ceasefire for the 22 day Gaza attack, and just three days before the inauguration of President Obama. Please note, in order to appreciate some of the lies built into this document: The Hamas government was ELECTED by the overwhelming majority of Palestinians who live under Israeli brutal military occupation. Also, Israel has no recognised borders, except the borders defined by the illegal wall, and Israel still occupies parts of Syria and Lebanon since 1967)

Video: Israel set to swallow defeat in Gaza but sets the stage for war with Iran

By lesage, Saturday 17 2009: After White Phosphorus, Depleted Uranium, and DIME (Dense Inert Metal Explosive) bombs, and successive attacks on Gaza refugees huddled in UN schools; Ihud Olmert, Prime Minister of the the Apartheid State of Israel, today declared a unilateral ceasefire for its air, ground, and naval attack on the captive people of Gaza, declaring "mission accomplished".

Olmert thanked Europe and the USA and other "moderate" states in the region, for the "success" of the massacre. The battle theatre against Iran is now set ready for Obama.

The Israeli war on Gaza, now in its fourth week, provoked worldwide condemnation of Tel Aviv, which has been accused widely of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Gazan resistance and the world condemnation of Israeli crimes against Palestinians -- the native population of the land -- are seen as the primary reasons for Israel backtracking on its previously set goals. Hammas has been considerably strengthened by the attack, just by resisting the onslaught.

In his Christmas message to Britain, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will hail Jesus as the standard-bearer of justice and call for change.

“Jesus the Son of Mary is the standard-bearer of justice, of love for our fellow human beings, of the fight against tyranny, discrimination, and injustice,” President Ahmadinejad will say in his Christmas Day speech, according to the preliminary text of his message.

The Iranian President will deliver his speech at 7.15pm London time on Britain’s channel 4 Thursday as a traditional alternative to the Queen’s Christmas Day broadcast.

In the translated message, the President also addressed world issues and said that “the crises in society, the family, morality, politics, security, and the economy … have come about because the prophets have been forgotten, the Almighty has been forgotten, and some leaders are estranged from God.”

Change.org Censors 9/11 Truth

Censored Idea

The administrators at Change.org have deleted the idea for a new investigation into 9/11.

They declared that a new investigation into the attacks – which gave the Bush Administration the power to spy on it's own citizens, to torture, to launch two preventative wars based on lies and more generally to trample all over the Constitution – was "outside the scope" of the site's stated mission and therefore didn't meet their criteria for "specific policy solutions". It doesn't matter how many people want to know the Truth about 9/11, they refuse to have the idea promoted and discussed on their site.

Because of this censorship, the Change.org site has shown that it isn't a "social platform" but, rather, just another gatekeeper of 9/11 Truth.

When the idea was pulled, it was by far the most popular, comfortably occupying the top spot, totaling at least 660 votes (twice the amount of the next best rated idea) only 48 hours after being submitted. On a side note, the other proposed ideas had a 3 week head start, and the 9/11 Truth idea was only just warming up.

Why (pretend to) ask the citizens for ideas then simply delete the most popular? It seems like all of this is more of a joke than a wishful expression for democracy…

Here is the e-mail received by everyone who voted (and to whom we thank for voting):

A blast from the past with Rahmbo, the mega-competent 'new' Chief of Staff for the President-elect's Change (TM) Administration

This is from last year on Bill Maher's show, during an "Overtime" segment. I amended Bill Maher's question about Saudi involvement in terrorism and the Iraq insurgency after he mentioned that most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi. The word "patsies" seemed to clarify the matter quickly. Listen to Emanuel's response to the word "patsies." Sounds like an uncomfortable laugh. It happens a little after the 3 minute mark. Why did one word, "patsies," make Rahmbo jumpy enough to mistakenly call the House of Saud a "Shiite government"?

WeAreChangeLA 'debriefs' former CIA Case Officer Robert Baer about apparent Mossad and White House 9/11 foreknowledge, and more

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2z5BnihtWfs

On October 16, 2008, Robert Baer, who was a CIA Case Officer in the Middle East over the course of almost two decades, participated in a discussion at the Hammer Museum entitled "A Third War: The Threat of War with Iran." Dr. Trita Parsi was part of the discussion which was moderated by Ian Masters.

Baer was briefly interrupted during the discussion by Jeremy Rothe-Kushel for clarity's sake, after he brought up 9/11 and reaffirmed his recently aired belief that Osama bin Laden is likely dead. That part went something like this-

Bob: The chances of Bin Laden being dead are very high. The question is are they going to drag him out in the next two weeks. Is he going to [laughter] out of cold storage and say "we finally got him." I don't know that he's dead, but he probably is.

WeAreChangeLA calls KPFK's Don Bustany about U.S./Israeli false-flag ops, historical/contemporary, interrupted/'successful'

On the 8/13/08 edition of the weekly show "Middle East in Focus" on KPFK, the Pacifica affiliate here in LA, host Don Bustany had on Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Roy Gutman, who recently authored "How We Missed the Story: Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban and the Hijacking of Afghanistan."

Russia may open the world to democratic freedoms, stem U.S. expansionism

Russian masterstroke protects Iran, American public
Mini-analysis

By Peter Duveen

PETER'S NEW YORK, August 13, 2008--Russia was able to accomplish more than to show its might in the recent action it took to protect an Eastern European enclave of disputed sovereignty (South Ossetia). It was able to open up a potential new front in the simmering conflict between the United States and Russia, and prevent American military resources from being squandered on an adventure in Iran. As a result, Russia may be the only force the American people can rely upon to stave off a disastrous expansion into the Middle East.

Commentators almost universally admit that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have left the American military overextended. The American economy is now in the worst shape it has been since the recession of the late 1970s. And the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming presidential elections will surely make any decision regarding action against Iran improbable. This may indeed be the respite Americans need to reshape foreign policy and reign in a federal government gone mad over foreign military exploits based on pretexts that have been shown to be entirely false.

How crazy are they?

"Asked to explain Cheney's phrase "must not go unanswered," White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said, "It means it must not stand." White House officials refused to indicate what recourse the United States might have if the attacks continue."
