A 9/11/2008 Resolution: Start Your Own 9/11 Blog!

(If you are fed up with the silent Corporate Media)

By Arabesque

9/11 truth activists often complain about the Corporate sponsored media (MSM) and their collective silence when it comes to explosive 9/11 information. As just one example, Dr. Steven Jones, Physicist Challenges Official 9-11 Story was listed at #18 in the top 25 censored stories of 2007, by Project Censored.

But Jenny Sparks points out this surprising fact: 91% of the users of the Total911TruthNOW website do not have a blog. Does this hold true for other 9/11 forums? Think about this for a second: if you are serious about exposing the 9/11 cover-up, this means you are going to have to get your voice heard by effectively promoting 9/11 information. Joining a forum is a start, but if you are tired about the MSM not reporting 9/11 information, why not do something about it by starting your own blog?

As I explained on the truthaction.org forum,

... I would recommend it for anyone who is serious about 9/11 awareness... If you don't speak up, no one will hear you and the 9/11 cover-up will continue. It's that simple. I've had people tell me that reading my stuff has made a difference for them, and that's good enough for me... Even just creating a blog and linking to credible 9/11 sites... improves search rankings and brings new visitors to these sites.

Don't wait for someone else to expose the 9/11 cover-up. Get involved by reporting and promoting 9/11 information. Every person who speaks out by spreading credible information, 9/11 truth websites, and films will make a difference. If the MSM is not going to report 9/11 information, are you just going to keep waiting for them to do this, or are you going to take action and do something about it? Instead of passively reading information and listening to radio shows, why not get involved by spreading this information by promoting it on a blog? As Col Jenny Sparks explains, starting a blog is free:

Not everyone is ready or able to shell out for a site/hosting. This is where 911Blogger and other re-existing forums come in. But don't forget our lovely FREE corporate online service providers like Blogger.

A short tutorial by a support coordinator at blogger.com demonstrates how easy it is to setup a blog.

Free blog hosting sites include:

And of course, 911blogger.com. Along with participating in the 11th Day of the Month Campaign and other types of activism, all of these things will all add up together and the MSM censorship blockade and gatekeepers will be completely irrelevant.

If you start a new blog in part because of this article, link to it here so that others will add your blog to their links. Websites that are connected by many links get more traffic and are found higher in search rankings. For example, I get around 100 visitors a day to my blog and a lot of this traffic comes from search engines. This is why it is worthwhile to create your own separate blog: it can improve the rankings of sites like 911blogger.com and 911truth.org.

Don't forget to link to other 9/11 websites and blogs. Here are some that I especially recommend (although everyone will make their own list and have their own preferences):

Definitely include these sites:

http://www.911truth.org
http://911research.wtc7.net
http://www.stj911.org
http://www.cooperativeresearch.org
http://www.ae911truth.org
http://www.911blogger.com

Others that I recommend include:
http://truthaction.org/
http://truthmove.org
http://www.ultruth.com
http://www.visibility911.com
http://www.yourbbsucks.com/forum/index.php
etc. There are too many to mention

Supporting these sites by linking to them can only increase traffic to these sites and can only help build the 9/11 truth movement.

Why not make your 9/11/2008 resolution to start a 9/11 blog and become part of the alternative media to expose the 9/11 cover-up?

Can you think of a single good reason why any single 9/11 activist does not operate their own 9/11 blog or website?

Yup.

So true! So true! We can make 9/11 Truth be an issue in the forefront of people's attention. 9/11 Truth will never occur if we as individuals cowardly shirk away from bringing up the subject. We need to present the 9/11 Truth message at every opportunity.

Each individual can bring up the subject of 9/11 Truth AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY...on blogs, on the street, in line at the grocery store, freeway blogging, Plane Banners, conversations on the phone with solicitors, the clerk at the retail store, handing out flyers, handing out DVDs, doing 11th actions, emailing architects & engineers, mailing info to government officials, supporting Kucinich impeachment, offering encouraging words to others who actually ACT & put some skin in the 9/11 Truth game, etc.

You're absolutely right

You're absolutely right. I'm still making some adjustments on my own German blog but when I've finished them I will start promoting it.

I especially want to focus on giving people a solid introduction into 9/11 truth and pointing them towards the best information. When I started with my own research some year ago, I had to go through a lot of nonsense till I gradually found the more reliable websites - and most people understandably don't have the patience to sort the gems from the mud.

Having an own blog and thus being able to spread the word yourself is really important. Here in Germany our media are - when it comes to 9/11 truth, at least - just as terrible as yours in the US and good information on this topic is something you rarely find on the German web.

I blog at...

www.yourbbsucks.com
www.911blogger.com
www.visibility911.com
www.truthaction.org
www.opednews.com
And occasionally I get blogs posted to 911truth.org.

From experience, I recommend that you make sure before you post something, you spellcheck, video check, sound check, etc... Otherwise, you have to go and "fix" your blog posts whereever you post, and it's a pain in the @ss.

Edit: Extra Credit: Does anyone know where the term "blog" came from? Reprehensor is offering $1,000,000.00 in 911Blogger.com funchips to the person that gets it right. :D

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? Do we deserve to know how and why 9/11 happened?

Blog

It comes from the word "web log".

"Blogs have come a long way since Dec. 17, 1997, when Jorn Barger coined the term "weblog" to describe the list of links on his Robot Wisdom website that "logged" his internet wanderings. In the decade hence, blogs have come to dominate the net, from 100 million personal diaries to the breaking news sections of the august The New York Times."
http://www.wired.com/entertainment/theweb/news/2007/12/blog_anniversary

"The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger[7] on 17 December 1997. The short form, "blog," was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word weblog into the phrase we blog in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May of 1999."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_blogging_timeline#cite_ref-7

The word “blog” appears to date back to 1997, when one of the few practitioners at the time, Jorn Barger, called his site a “weblog”. In 1999, another user, Peter Merholz, playfully broke the word into “we blog”, and somehow the new term—blog—stuck as both a verb and a noun. Technically, it means a web page to which its owner regularly adds new entries, or “posts”, which tend to be (but need not be) short and often contain hyperlinks to other blogs or websites.

YOU WIN!

Do these people deserve to know how and why their loved ones were murdered? Do we deserve to know how and why 9/11 happened?

Sorry, dude, that is

Sorry, dude, that is actually a corporate media made-up story. The true origin of the word is it is a "melded contraction" (Sauer, Phipps, Lambert et al in "Dances with Language," 1914 Dublin) of "bog" and "log." "Blog" connotes mildly risky behavior that may get you wet but also might get you out of the swamp, especially if you have no other options.

Cross posting

"From experience, I recommend that you make sure before you post something, you spellcheck, video check, sound check, etc... Otherwise, you have to go and "fix" your blog posts whereever you post, and it's a pain in the @ss."

That's a good point that I'm sure many learn the hard way.

There are many great posters here who do not appear to have their own blog sites. Starting a separate blog is a great idea because not only is it easy to copy your blog posts, by doing so, you are increasing the visibility of the information you post here and the visibility of 911blogger. Having many separate 9/11 sites will only increase the visibility of the 9/11 movement and increase 9/11 awareness as well as internet search rankings where people will come across 9/11 information by accident.

Think about it this way. 911blogger is a huge site and many post here. When people do a search for information it can be buried in all of the posts here. If you have a separate blog, there are less postings and your information will be more visible. If people are familiar with your past work, you can organize your blog to present your posts on the sidebar so that it can be easily browsed.

Arabesque: 911 Truth

SheilaCasey.com

I started my blog on the eve of the 2006 mid-term elections, to chronicle what I hoped would be a triumph of justice, reason and compassion by a new Democratic majority in the House and Senate. Boy was I wrong!

Eight months later I ran across a column by Paul Craig Roberts about 9/11, read "A New Pearl Harbor," and the ground gave way beneath my feet. I disappeared down the rabbit hole, and didn't post on my blog for another eight months while I researched 9/11, and then the JFK, MLK and RFK assassinations.

When I started posting again this past spring, my blog had a different perspective. No longer in thrall to the Punch n' Judy Show of our two party oligarchy, I post mainly about 9/11, media reform and the corruption of the US government. I also repost essays I've published in The Denver Post, Common Dreams, Buzz Flash, Dissident Voice and the Rock Creek Free Press.

I'm at http://www.sheilacasey.com

Start your own We Are Change chapter.

Not everyone has the technical ability to start, maintain, or upgrade their own blog. And having a blog might not be the best use of everyone's time. The writers and people with technical skills should. Check out http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com for instance. But those of us who don't have their own blogs can be just as effective spreading the news and leading new readers to the hub blogs like this one and 911Truth.org etc. and otherwise doing what they do best.

Everyone should find a niche that they are good at and enjoy and push it as hard as they find rewarding.

If you are inclined to start a blog or a web page or a We Are Change chapter, by all means go about doing it. Or learning how to do it.

If you want to help maintain and drive traffic to our established sites like 911blogger, don't be afraid to realize the importance of that as well.

We need strong headquarter sites like this as well as the splinter sites to spread the message further. Just my two cents at trying to keep the troops motivated no matter the level of technical expertise and know-how. Peace.

Blogging-- Why should you blog?

"Not everyone has the technical ability to start, maintain, or upgrade their own blog."

I don't think it is difficult. The most difficult part is probably setting up the blog. And even that isn't very hard.

"Everyone should find a niche that they are good at and enjoy and push it as hard as they find rewarding."

I agree, but that doesn't mean you can't combine this with blogging. Why should you blog? There are many good reasons and they are only limited by your imagination.

1. If you do street activism (like the 11th day of every month campaign) you can post your photos on your blog.
2. If you aren't a writer, you can post excerpts from articles posted on other news sites (like 911blogger)
3. If you are a researcher you can post your research

If you support the 11th day of every month campaign and you link to truthaction.org, you are increasing the visibility of this activism campaign. Doing all of these things and spreading information effectively contribute to 9/11 awareness.

"If you want to help maintain and drive traffic to our established sites like 911blogger, don't be afraid to realize the importance of that as well."

This is why it is important to not just do your own thing. The internet is a web of connected information. By citing articles or websites, it will only further bring 9/11 awareness. The blog doesn't have to be a daily thing--every effort counts in the long run.

"We need strong headquarter sites like this as well as the splinter sites to spread the message further. Just my two cents at trying to keep the troops motivated no matter the level of technical expertise and know-how. Peace."

I agree of course. If there were thousands of 9/11 bloggers out there all linking to 911blogger on their sites, of course it is only going to increase traffic to websites like this one. And not just because they are following the links from these blogs: as I explained, more links means higher search rankings. People will come across 9/11 information by accident.
_______________
Arabesque: 911 Truth

Good points!

Good points!

Good Points.

Oh I see. I didn't understand the concept of linking an article in multiple places means higher search ranking. That makes sense.

I don't want to see the traffic or people get more and more isolated. But if it does the opposite and spreads the information I'm all for it.

To tell you the truth I'm not all that web savvy when it comes to these types of things.

Why Should you Blog? Part 2--Understanding Page Rank

Why Should you start a 9/11 Blog or Website? Part 2--Understanding Page Rank

"...How does a Google search actually work? How do they determine what websites get higher rankings in search results? Well it turns out that they invented a mathematical formula to determine website rankings. Wikipedia explains:

"PageRank is a link analysis algorithm that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references. The numerical weight that it assigns to any given element E is also called the PageRank of E and denoted by PR(E)." ....

Let's take for example, the 11th day of every month campaign. If all of the photos were only posted at truthaction.org, not many people will come across this activism. By having thousands of 9/11 activists creating their own blogs, posting their own activism and linking to sites like truthaction.org and 911blogger.com, the 9/11 truth campaign's exposure would be increased by a significant degree."

I will also keep a list of blogs added here:
http://truthaction.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=19202#19202

It is possible that a campaign like this can be disrupted. I already know all the tricks, but I'll tell you some of the main ones and my suggestions for countering these tactics.

Ways that this campaign can be disrupted:

1. Avoid debating which websites to include on your links. I suggested a few websites, and I'm not excluding you from choosing your own. This is a personal choice and is not mandatory. Make this a positive campaign and refuse to get into debates over which websites to include in your links.
2. I will not include blogs/websites that emphasize ad hominem attacks or discredited research. Period. Blogs that emphasize discrediting material will be taken off of my list.

Ways that this campaign can be successful:

1. It will create a new wave of 9/11 bloggers in time for the 9/11 anniversary and beyond.
2. It will create more exposure for existing 9/11 websites by increasing their visibility online.

"Garko, I am not wrong. Thottam was arrested at Pelosi event". http://www.911blogger.com/node/17104

I said I would be unable to respond to this matter any further today, until I saw this rather appropriate heading, and because my post is a bit buried by now. As I write in the above comments section, this is the first time that I have delved into this matter on any public forum. You may have to uncollapse and vote up if you like. Such are these silly turf wars in LA. Cheers.

9/11 Truth LA www.911truthla.com is alive and well.

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

>>silly turf wars in LA LA

>>silly turf wars in LA

LA has what appear to be 'turf wars' (just like NYC, incidentally) because it is vitally important in terms of influencing powerful & rich people, and extremely large population-wise. It's also likely *not* about turf or ego, but about enacting the political agendas of the world's most powerful people.

There is an attempt...

Among the misinformed to try to minimize the seriousness of some of these conflicts. Yeh, people can have disagreements about strategy, etc, but MOST adults can do this without personal attacks. When you see a conflict spiraling out of control it is vitally important to pin down the frame:

With Scholars( correct me if I'm wrong) it was a violation of trust by making information from a private email list public without cause.("Cause" being a response to suspected criminal activity, etc--in which case you forward it to authorities or lawyers, NOT to a public yahoogroup archive)

With the KW fiasco it was attacking antiwar activists and calling them liars.

Other places let "crazy" people stay in charge of events and shoot any messenger who tries to point this out.

To be fair it is confusing to someone new. That's why we need to focus on the behavior in these situations. Provable behavior--not theories, not assumptions, not speculations. From an absolute stand point, I don't even care if someone really does believe there were no planes -- as long as they don't engage in personal attack behaviors(libel, slander, privacy invasion) AND don't try to muck up our push for a new investigation

My biggest education was realizing there are people placed on all sides if the Truth movement whose job is to disrupt, divide and alienate. They don't have to be No-planers--Shillclown & Co were just the first out of the gate.

Watch the behavior--anyone who can't agree to disagree, does not have the basis of a legal complaint, but won't go away or stop making unprovable claims -- that's a flag.
