(AP) Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden called on the Europeans to stop helping the United States in the war in Afghanistan, saying America is "ebbing" in excerpts of a new audiotape aired Thursday on Al-Jazeera television.

Bin Laden said he was the "only one responsible" for the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington, arguing that it was unjust for the Americans to have invaded Afghanistan.

"The events of Manhattan were retaliation against the American-Israeli alliance's aggression against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, and I am the only one responsible for it. The Afghan people and government knew nothing about it. America knows that," he said.

"Europe went along with it (the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan) because they had no other alternative, only to be a follower," he said.

I sent the following letter to the author of this report...

The handling officer of a source in Indian and Pakistani intelligence agencies is the person who looks after the welfare of the source, keeps him motivated and uses him as needed. The source cannot meet anybody else other than his handling officer except the head of the agency. One source--one handling officer is the general rule. This is to prevent the exposure of the operation and maintain its deniability. I understand in the CIA they call him the Running Officer of a source.

Good on MSNBC for asking the question. The article begins:

When al-Qaida’s media arm released its first Osama Bin Laden video in nearly three years, most of the media attention was focused on Bin Laden's beard. It appeared either dyed — or perhaps even pasted on. He was ridiculed and a variety of theories were offered to explain it.

But now, there is a running debate among video analysts about whether al-Qaida faked the video altogether —that rather than being new, the September 7 message may have been something recorded at the same time as his last video in October 2004 (and then released with new audio).

Krawetz makes a lot of sense to me.

Personally I believe OBL is dead, but just this past week he released another tape, which has been "authenticated" by US intelligence agencies. As is typical his "message" coincided with a request for 182 billion dollars in additional funding for the war on terror.

It has been over 6 years and according to the official story public enemy #1 has yet to be killed or captured. If you believe the official story this is simply disgraceful and, I would bet, unacceptable to the American public.

We are fighting wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and soon Iran in response to the attacks of 9/11 and to find and kill the 911 mastermind. But this task, despite spending close to a trillion dollars, has failed and this failure is being used by the government perpetuate a policy of endless war and fear.

The reason I bring up this topic is there is a deep seeded, and growing resentment by the average American that OBL the individual is still on the loose and threatening America. Also I think that this aspect of the 911 story is being overlooked and undervalued by the truth movement and is a possible bridge issue to the peace movement.

It is a 6 minute, 18 second Windows Media File, with no introduction, featuring someone who sounds like they might be (or might have been) Osama, speaking in Arabic, with a clear edit about half way through, with the two segments likely recorded at different times.

Most interesting is this: at 26 seconds into the audio file (presumably recorded on a tiny cassette recorder in some distant hut in the mountains of Pakistan), the distinct sound of two high pitched double pulses can be heard behind bin Laden's voice. I immediately recognized this as the one-second bulletin triggered by the INEWS newsroom software (a program file entitled "bulletin.wav").

INEWS is a pretty comprehensive newsroom management system, marketed to large news outlets (and presumably Al Jazeera) to centralize and automate their operations, and also features access to multiple wire services.

This is the third blog from Sheldon Drobny at Huffington Post articulating skepticism over the official 9/11 fairy tale, actually dated September 7 but never posted here at 911blogger:

Most of us aren't fooled anymore, realizing that the criminal cabal in Washington drags out their boogeyman with another fake "message" whenever they feel need to instill fear in the citizenry. The recent reports of a new bin Laden message are almost comical at this point, were it not for the overall seriousness of the matter. Six years later, the the PNAC infested US government is still trying to manipulate the masses through fear--and further, to counteract the growing awareness that 9/11 was a day of carefully planned false-flag terrorism they themselves orchestrated.

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader.

"The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said.

Al-Qaeda is plotting fresh attacks on the United States aimed at sowing death and destruction on a massive scale, CIA director Michael Hayden warned yesterday, the same day the terrorist group's leader resurfaced in a videotape bragging about altering the course of American history and warning that the only way to end the war in Iraq is for Americans to convert to Islam.

Sept. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden will issue a video message to the American people on the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, according to a Washington- based terrorist-watchdog group.

The Site Intelligence Group showed an image of bin Laden sporting a full, dark beard that it said was from the new video and was found on radical Islamic Web sites.

Site was founded in 2002 to monitor and infiltrate terrorist groups, according to Source Watch, a project of the Madison, Wisconsin-based Center for Media and Democracy.
