Dr. Natana DeLong-Bas was interviewed by Al-Sharq Al-Awsat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she said that the western media has given Osama bin Laden more status than he deserves. She added: "I do not find any evidence that makes me agree that Osama bin Laden was behind the attack on the twin trade towers. French troops had bin Laden in sights: documentary

PARIS (Reuters) - A documentary says French special forces had Osama bin Laden in their sights twice about three years ago but their U.S. superiors never ordered them to fire.

The French military, however, said that the incidents never happened and the report was "erroneous information."

The documentary, due to air next year and seen by Reuters on Tuesday, says the troops could have killed the al Qaeda leader in Afghanistan but the order to shoot never came, possibly because it took too long to request it.

"In 2003 and 2004 we had bin Laden in our sights. The sniper said 'I have bin Laden'," an anonymous French soldier is quoted as saying.

The documentary 'Bin Laden, the failings of a manhunt' is by journalists Emmanuel Razavi and Eric de Lavarene, who have worked for several major French media outlets in Afghanistan. A cable television channel plans to air the documentary in March....

Long before the war in Iraq, the "War on Terror" began in Afghanistan and the hunt for Al Qaeda leader Usama Bin Laden. So, why then is there not a single reference to 9/11 on the FBI'S '10 Most Wanted' poster of Bin Laden?

First of all, it turns out, Bin Laden has never been indicted for the attacks of September 11th. The FBI poster reads: "Usama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world."

Regarding the 9/11 omission in the FBI poster, Special Agent Sheila Thorne in the bureau's New Orleans office told us quote, "the indictment could be superceded if necessary." In other words, charges relating to September 11th could be 'tacked on' later-- for something described as 'The Pearl Harbor of our generation.'

Lucky for the neocons, who don't seem interested in Afghanistan anymore (now that the pipeline is in the works), Al Qaeda, that elusive would-be terrorist network, is moving to where the neocons want them: the Middle East. Do you think Al Qaeda will be merged with Iran in the coming weeks? Obviously, the article suggests Iraq is the new center of operations, a convenient twist for an administration that made bogus claims about Hussein and Bin Laden being in bed together. Now, Bush will claim, the US can't leave Iraq because it has become the center of the "global war on terra"....

This story appeared on Reuters today. The premise that the French intelligence report of Bin Laden's death is actually an attempt to "smoke him out" sounds rather odd in the mainstream press. I know it's a long shot, but I thought perhaps this story was building a premise for an October Surprise?

LONDON, Sept 24 (Reuters) - A leaked intelligence report of Osama bin Laden's death has met scepticism from Western and Muslim governments but may increase a clamour from his followers to show himself on video for the first time in nearly two years.

One theory surrounding the mysterious French leak is that it was designed precisely to flush the al Qaeda leader into the open, prompting him to release a new tape that might give a clue to his whereabouts and state of health.

"Western intelligence, the Americans, the Saudis want bin Laden to appear," said Diaa Rashwan, an expert on Islamist groups at the al-Ahram Centre for Political and Strategic Studies in Cairo.

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader.

"The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said.

Bin Laden, according to the source, was suffering from a serious lung complication and succumbed to the disease in mid-December, in the vicinity of the Tora Bora mountains. The source claimed that bin Laden was laid to rest honorably in his last abode and his grave was made as per his Wahabi belief.

About 30 close associates of bin Laden in Al Qaeda, including his most trusted and personal bodyguards, his family members and some "Taliban friends," attended the funeral rites. A volley of bullets was also fired to pay final tribute to the "great leader."

Osama is classified among among The FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives.

However, on the Usama bin Laden page on the FBI website, there is no explicit statement to the effect that he might be wanted in connection to the September 11, 2001 attacks. 
 

He is wanted in relation to the 1998 African Embassy bombings.

I went to the premiere of 9-11: Press For Truth in the Bay area Oakland, CA last night and in the words of George Tenet.....slam dunk!!!!

It makes the official story look like a cheap conspiracy theory.

The great thing is, it isn't a conspiracy theory documentary. In fact, the word "conspiracy" isn't even muttered. Not once. No "Bush did it". No mention of bombs, no-planes, holes in the ground, pentagon walls, planted evidence...no assumptions or theories.

Every fact is taken from news sources just like the terror timeline. It is focused on the pre 9-11 warnings, the steps taken by government leaders to protect themselves after receiving these warnings, and the concerted effort to cover-up their knowledge and stonewall and limit the investigation once national media attention brought to light the lack of effort to actually investigate the biggest crime ever to take place on American soil.

It is also focused on Pakistan and the dubious relationship between the CIA and ISI, showing that those responsible for funding the terrorists were in fact the same people who would now be our "best friends" in the war on terror. It documents the payment authorized by General Mahmoud Ahmad the ISI chief through Umar Sheikh to Mohammad Atta and asks the question, "why was this guy, who later was shown to have authorized a payment to the lead hijacker by Indian intellignce and confirmed by the FBI doing in Washington DC ON the morning of Sept 11th?"

• The 9/11 truth movement has said all along that Bin Laden and the hijackers are patsies

• The 9/11 truth movement has said all along that planes could not have been hijacked and flown around the country for countless minutes unless there was a stand down by -- and an overwhelming confusion of -- the military by multiple war games with live-fly hijacking and plane-into-building exercises and false radar injects

• The 9/11 truth movement has said all along that World Trade Center 1, 2 and 7 were brought down by controlled demolition

So even if the newly-released video of Osama and others planning 9/11 is real (all of the previous ones linking Bin Laden to 9/11 were either faked or mistranslated), that doesn't change anything.

They could not have succeeded unless they were tipped off to the fact that multiple, overlapping war games would occur on 9/11.

They wouldn't have gotten anywhere unless the military was stopped from following standard operating procedure on 9/11.

And the Twin Towers (and building 7) still would still be standing today absent controlled demolition.
