Dick Cheney

9-11 Justice

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-649993991751648213

I'm always looking for something short and concise to pass along to others, in addition to using as teasers and such when showing full-length films on a variety of other subjects to others.

I just found this short video that was apparantly posted to google 2-21-2007. I thought that it packed an enormous amout of disturbing information into less than 20 minutes. It could be a good to to use with those whose attention spans have been severely impaired by the immediate gratification of television sound bites.

Bin Laden’s Confession; is that what it is

Bin Laden’s Confession; is that what it is?

March 15, 2007 -- The tape released by the Pentagon on December 13, 2001 in which Osama Bin Laden is seen describing the events of 9/11 to a paraplegic visitor, Khaled Al-Harbi, is as close to a confession of prior knowledge as anyone is going to get at a dinner gathering.

Bin Laden: So if the plane hits the building here [gestures with hands], the portion of the building above will collapse. That was the most we could hope for, the most we expected: that the floors above the point of entry would fall. We were at one of the canyons at the time of the event, and we knew since Thursday that it would be on Tuesday. So we had the radio on.

That is enough for me, still, there are those who doubt and might say, well, the event had already taken place and Bin Laden knew enough detail to make up a story and take credit. Yes, there are those who might say that and for various reasons.

Cheney AGAIN Links Iraq and 9/11

A story today shows that Cheney is STILL linking Iraq and 9/11. Read 9/11 Lies: Another Basis for Impeachment for background.

9/11, Iraq: Cheney again claims tie
VP attacks Dems for first time since Libby conviction

Vice President Dick Cheney . . .
resumed his controversial claims Monday that the war in Iraq is the central front in the worldwide U.S. response to the Sept. 11 attacks.

Cheney linked Iraq and al Qaeda even though post-invasion reports by the Senate Intelligence Committee and the presidential Commission on Intelligence Capabilities found no link between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda before the U.S.-led invasion on March 19, 2003.

Flight 93 Was More than 100 Miles from the Pentagon

In a previous essay, I argued that Secretary of Transportation Norm Mineta could not have been referring to Flight 93 because that Flight never got within "50 miles out", let alone 30 or 10 miles, from the Pentagon. Here's an update.

I found latitude and longitude information for the Pentagon and the Flight 93 crash site. Specifically, the Pentagon appears to be at a latitude of approximately 38.871 and a longitude of -77.0561.

The crater for Flight 93 (ignoring the possible that Flight 93 was shot down in order to focus, for this essay only, on Cheney's discussion of the plane at the PEOC), is probably located within a few seconds of 40°03'02" N longitude
78°45'22" W latitude, according to Jim Hoffman's research.

Mineta Could NOT Have Been Referring to Flight 93

In an update to our story yesterday, Mineta's Testimony CONFIRMED, I wanted to examine the claim that Mineta got confused, and that the conversation between Cheney and the young officer was actually referring to Flight 93.

The flight path of Flight 93 shows that its closest proximity to the Pentagon was probably when it crashed (or if it got closer prior to crash, it never got much closer).

The 9/11 Commission stated that Flight 93 crashed 125 miles from Washington, D.C. Washington is about 5 miles from the Pentagon. So Flight 93 could not have crashed much closer than 120 miles from the Pentagon.

Mineta's Testimony CONFIRMED

http://georgewashington.blogspot.com/2007/03/minetas-testimony-confirmed.html

When faced with former Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta's testimony -- about Cheney's stand-down order as the plane approached the Pentagon -- Defenders of the official story have tried to discredit Mineta by saying that he got his times mixed up.

Specifically, Mineta claims:

"When I got to the White House, it was being evacuated. I met briefly with Richard Clark, a National Security Council staff member, who had no new information. Then the Secret Service escorted me down to the Presidential Emergency Operations Center, otherwise known as the PEOC."

Why No Norad On 911? By Douglas Herman, USAF Veteran

...the FAA had to be the scapegoat. Not NORAD. If the Pentagon--under attack---needed a fresh infusion of cash, since hundreds of billions (2.3 trillion reportedly) was missing---they would have to be exonerated. And That was why, finally, General Richard Myers, seated in his office (allegedly) throughout the ENTIRE 911 attack, was promoted for his inactions (rather than convicted in a military court martial) for dereliction of duty, along with numerous other officials after 911.

Cheney Upset That NSA Intercept Made Public

The National Journal has a story in today's paper that shows how upset Cheney was that the September 10th NSA intercepts were made public. It also shows that the administration was looking for any possible excuse to shut down the inquiries into 9/11.

Early on the morning of June 20, 2002, then-Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Bob Graham, D-Fla., received a telephone call at home from a highly agitated Dick Cheney. Graham, who was in the middle of shaving, held a razor in one hand as he took the phone in the other.

The vice president got right to the point: A story in his morning newspaper reported that telephone calls intercepted by the National Security Agency on September 10, 2001, apparently warned that Al Qaeda was about to launch a major attack against the United States, possibly the next day. But the intercepts were not translated until September 12, 2001, the story said, the day after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Because someone had leaked the highly classified information from the NSA intercepts, Cheney warned Graham, the Bush administration was considering ending all cooperation with the joint inquiry by the Senate and House Intelligence committees on the government's failure to predict and prevent the September 11 attacks. Classified records would no longer be turned over to the Hill, the vice president threatened, and administration witnesses would not be available for interviews or testimony.

The Smoking Whistle

You heard right... 'whistle'. As in whistle-blower!

This is the MOST powerful video on YouTube, although curiously not the most watched. Take note this video was uploaded to YouTube on July 6, 2006. Norman Mineta submitted his resignation effective July 7, 2006.

This video is also being touted as one of the most powerful pieces of video evidence to be featured in the forthcoming release of Loose Change: Final Cut.

If WTC7 is the smoking gun, Norman Mineta is the smoking whistle.

Cheney "Resisted Testifying Before The 9/11 Commission Until The Bitter End"

He resisted, and then only agreed to testify with Bush at his side, and "not under oath and there was to be no recording made of the session nor a stenographer in the room." The "White House has said there will not be a transcript of the session" even though the family members believed they "were entitled to" it. Not to defend Clinton or Gore, but at least they agreed to appear "separately before the panel, and their sessions were recorded." - Jon

Cheney Should Testify Before Congress
The Nation: If VP Can Talk In Libby Trial, He Should Do So On Capitol The Hill As Well

John Nichols

Vice President Dick Cheney should get used to testifying under oath.

It is expected that he will start talking soon, as part of a self-serving effort to defend a former aide. But once the vice president is done giving that testimony, how hard would it be for him to head over to Capitol Hill and respond to all the questions that members of Congress have been preparing to ask?

It was revealed Tuesday that Cheney will be called to testify on behalf of his former chief of staff, I. Scooter Libby.

A Reason for a Cause

I was born in 69, the tail end of the "love" era. I can still remember the multi-colored yellow and orange flowers that made up the design on the living room sofa as I was growing up. Captain Kangaroo, Speed Racer, and Land of the lost topped my television favorites.

My father died when I was 7 and I grew up kind of rebellious. I had my first apartment at 15 and worked part time for the apartments I lived in to pay the rent. I was never really into fads or trends. I was the only guy in my entire school with long hair, which I dealt with a tremendous level of mental and physical abuse by the other kids. I put up with it for years just doing my thing, taking it as it came, and moving on.

One day, when I was about 15 a girl passed me a note in class. It was from one of the best looking girls in my school, very popular and sought after by many of the jock type guys. The note from her said that she liked me and wanted me to call her.

I called her and even went over to her house a couple of times when her parents were not home. I was pretty happy that for the first time in my life I was actually dating a girl from my school. I went to an upper class school and all the girls I had ever met were from another neighboring school with not so upper class people.

Cheney Admits KSM Was Tortured

The 9/11 Commission never interviewed KSM, nor his interrogators, and could not corroborate his alleged testimony. Now Cheney admits KSM was tortured. How reliable is most of the info in chapters 5 and 7 of the 9/11 Commission Report?

Cheney Admits Water Torture of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

Scott Hennen: And terrorist interrogations and that debate is another example. And I've had people call and say, please, let the Vice President know that if it takes dunking a terrorist in water, we're all for it, if it saves American lives. Again, this debate seems a little silly given the threat we face, would you agree?

The Vice President: I do agree. And I think the terrorist threat, for example, with respect to our ability to interrogate high value detainees like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, that's been a very important tool that we've had to be able to secure the nation. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed provided us with enormously valuable information about how many there are, about how they plan, what their training processes are and so forth, we've learned a lot. We need to be able to continue that.

Cheney shoots Hayden in the foot over wiretapping

VP Dick Cheney recently justified the NSA's "domestic wiretapping program" by saying:

"If you'll recall, the 9/11 Commission focused criticism on the nation's inability to uncover links between terrorists at home and terrorists overseas. The term that was used is "connecting the dots" -- and the fact is that one small piece of data might very well make it possible to save thousands of lives. If this program had been in place before 9/11, we might have been able to prevent it because we had two terrorists living in San Diego, contacting terrorist-related numbers overseas. The very important question today is whether, on five years' reflection, we have yet learned all the lessons of 9/11."
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/10/print/2...

The two terrorists in question are American 77 hijackers Khalid Al Mihdhar and Nawaf Al Hazmi. The terrorist-related number (why does he use the plural, what other number?) is 00 967 1200578, an Al Qaeda communications hub in Sana'a, Yemen. Unfortunately for Cheney, he forgot that one of the main things the administration is trying to cover up about 9/11 (for example the 9/11 Omission Report does not mention them) is that Al Hazmi made calls from the US to the hub and that the NSA intercepted them, as the hub was one of its hottest targets. So thanks for the slip, Dick.
