Last weekend, from October 9 to 11, Debora Blake and Annie Machon organized “Vers La Vérité” in Paris, France. The event was sponsored in part by ReOpen911 France. “Vers La Vérité” was a mix of public and private events where each sub-event was designed to facilitate communication between people who share common concerns on important issues, including 9/11. It was not a 100% 9/11 Truth conference. The goal was to position 9/11 in the broader context of related and equally disturbing issues such as illegal wars and reduction of civil liberties.

They kicked off the event with a press conference on Friday morning attended by a journalist from a mainstream newspaper, France Soir and the independent TéléLibre. The mayor of Paris's second district introduced Cynthia who made a brief statement and took some questions. Annie Machon also spoke briefly.

‘Freegaza21' deportees to arrive at Heathrow 13.30 hours Monday 6th July'

On Sunday 5th July the six British crew and passengers of the Spirit of Humanity were moved to detention cells at Ben Gurion Airport, following a court hearing at which the orders for their deportation from Israel were made. The captain of the Spirit, Denis Healey, and the other five British human rights activists, are expected to be put on El Al flight LY315, from Tel Aviv, tomorrow, Monday 6th July 2009, due to arrive at Terminal One, Heathrow at 13.30 p.m.

In most of the world, May 1st is a day of international labor solidarity. It is a day of joy as workers picnic together with their families and celebrate the achievements of one of the most phenomenal movements of the 20th century.

It is fitting, then, that the Free Gaza Movement chooses May 1 to announce the launching of the HOPE FLEET TO GAZA. We are leaving on June 1 as an act of solidarity with the Palestinians, a people who have been massacred, terrorized and suffocated by the Israeli military.

We sail again to break Israel's blockade of 1.5 million civilians, 80% unemployed because of Israel's draconian siege. "I believe the Israeli government policies are against international law, against human rights, against the dignity of the Palestinian people," said Mairead Maguire whose efforts for a peaceful solution to the violence in Northern Ireland earned her the 1976 Nobel Peace Prize. "And I feel grateful to be able to go again on one of these boats to visit the people of Gaza."

The Alan Bisbort article "Truly Alternative: Giving our shared humanity a media voice" [Jan. 22, 2009] brought home some deep unsettled feelings. This well-crafted story-in-a-story also brought to light what I found missing in the Advocate. Cynthia McKinney was the keynote speaker at an event to honor Martin Luther King Day. This came on the heels of an international incident on a ship named "Integrity" that, while bringing mercy supplies to Gaza (with CNN and others on board), was rammed three times by an Israeli navy speed boat. Former Congresswoman and presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney has been prevented from leaving the country after she planned to give a speech in Damascus Syria at a Conference being held to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

That means 144,286 people didn't follow the norm and vote for the "lesser of two evils." That means 144,286 people probably thought it was more important to find out the truth about 9/11 than making sure McCain didn't get into office. That should say something. Congratulations to Cynthia McKinney on her run for President.
