There are many questions to ask about the war in Afghanistan. One that has been widely asked is whether it will turn out to be “Obama’s Vietnam.” This question implies another: Is this war winnable, or is it destined to be a quagmire, like Vietnam? These questions are motivated in part by the widespread agreement that the Afghan government, under Hamid Karzai, is at least as corrupt and incompetent as the government the United States tried to prop up in South Vietnam for 20 years.

Craig Bartmer, an NYPD officer who was present at the destruction of World Trade Center Building 7, testifies that he heard a series of explosions, "Thum, thum, thum, thum, thum" preceding the fall of the building. At the same time a TV interview is being conducted down the street, far from the building. The microphone picks up the same series of sharp, percussive sounds, confirming Bartmer's description. NIST artificially ruled out all such testimony by setting up a hypothetical loudness threshold for sounds it considered to be capable of destroying columns in the building.  The video goes on to question NIST's computed loudness threshold below which they would not investigate explosions.

Through these and related means, the truth about the collapse of WTC 7 has been effectively hidden, even though it has existed in plain sight all these years. Even the bare fact of the collapse itself has been so effectively hidden that in 2006 over 40 percent of the American public did not know about it, and in 2009 a judge in New York City, upon hearing a reference to Building 7, asked: “Building what?”

FOX News Presents WTC 7

Recently, two prominent articles were published – in opposing veins: “NPR & Trust in Government,” by Robert Shetterly (04/19), which called out NPR for allowing the propaganda operative Philip Zelikow to “frame [a] discussion” on “Trust in government,” while failing to note his long record of purposeful (world stage) obfuscation, including a treacherous role in the area of WTC 7, and “Shame On Jesse Ventura!,” by Jeffrey Scott Shapiro (another operative) (04/21), who asserts “that [Larry] Silverstein planned to use controlled demolition on WTC 7” – as if it’s common knowledge/no big deal. The focus here is on Shapiro’s brash, out of the blue, aggressiveness (under the cover of being clueless to the overall picture/consequences), while Shetterly’s should be read for many reasons: clarity, as a depiction of rare courage in our dominant landscape, and as a partial portrayal of how Timing works in our fabricated environment.

I was reading the following hit piece against Jesse Ventura by Fox News, and as I was thinking that this has got to be the most ridiculous hit piece I've ever seen (so over-the-top that it almost reads like something out of the Onion, such as when he says he was there and saw with his own eyes WTC7 fall "silently"), I did a major double take when I read this part:

Shortly before the building collapsed, several NYPD officers and Con-Edison workers told me that Larry Silverstein, the property developer of One World Financial Center was on the phone with his insurance carrier to see if they would authorize the controlled demolition of the building – since its foundation was already unstable and expected to fall.

Now, of course, the author's claim is that the building just so happened to collapse before any controlled demolition could actually take place.

I don't think the 911blogger community needs to be reminded that a controlled demolition could not have been set up in the few hours after the attack.

Derek Johnson, a foundry expert and petition-signer of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, absolutely SHREDS the half-baked government NIST report on Building 7. Derek presents newly-FOIA'd modeling video from NIST that shows animated steel beams floating and spinning in mid-air. This is only part of the ludicrousness of the NIST report on WTC7 and newly FOIA'd docs that Derek obtained from NIST. According to Derek, NIST's animated modeled version of what happened to WTC7 is little more than "a tinker-toy approximation with a brick thrown at it..high schoolers could have done a better job." What's NIST going to serve up next, Wile-E-Coyote with the Acme plunger? Below is Derek's presentation at the Texas AE911Truth Event in Austin, held on March 20th, 2010:

There were two terabytes mentioned back in February 2009 by AE911...were these files obtained and uploaded to archive.org?

It seems NIST also recently released 8,910 files to Ronald Brookman of Cryptome, I wonder if he will make these available? They withheld 3,370 files for reasons of 'public safety', including the 'connection models' and all 'results files'.
