I've been talking about the 9/11 so-called truth movement lately and how they have grown increasingly irritating as time goes on and all their claims have been answered or debunked. (for all my liberal friends reading this who buy into it, please order this issue of skeptic magazine). Hurricane Katrina gave birth to the claim the the levy was blown up so capitalists could build condos in the 9th ward (I guess gentrification wasn't working) so I figured this would spawn some crapola as well. I was right.

Rep. Jane Harman's "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act" is not written exactly like the Nazi 1933 Discriminatory Decrees that suspended the Reich Constitution, but it can bring America to the same place by trashing America's civil liberties. Harman's bill has the potential of driving lawful political and other activists underground into American cell groups. Perhaps expectantly creating the domestic terrorists the Bush Administration has said we need to be protected from.

NATIONAL LAWYERS GUILD AND SOCIETY OF AMERICAN LAW TEACHERS
STRONGLY OPPOSE HOMEGROWN TERRORISM PREVENTION ACT

On October 23, 2007, the House of Representatives passed the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 by a vote of 404-6. The bill will be referred out of committee this week and will then go to the Senate floor. The National Lawyers Guild and the Society of American Law Teachers strongly oppose this legislation because it will likely lead to the criminalization of beliefs, dissent and protest, and invite more draconian surveillance of Internet communications.

This bill would establish a Commission to study and report on "facts and causes" of "violent radicalism" and "extremist belief systems." It defines "violent radicalism" as "adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change." The term "extremist belief system" is not defined; it could refer to liberalism, nationalism, socialism, anarchism, communism, etc.

As my daughter threw herself onto Independence Ave last month in her passionate plea to stop the second deployment of her brother and respect the earth at the "No War, No Warming" protest, she did not know about this upcoming senate bill. This bill that passed 404-6 in the house is poised to pass in our Senate. This bill looks to make myself, my daughter and all others who participate in non-violent, civil disobedience a potential terrorist.

I'm sure this will get "dissed" in the ratings and comments. Why call for a GOVERNMENT investigation of 9/11? What government investigation has ever resulted in meaningful social change?

What about universal awareness of 9/11 Truth by the citizens of this planet? THAT could begin to force governments to behave. Kevin Ryan is former Site Manager for Environomental Health Laboratories, a division of Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Mr. Ryan, a Chemist and laboratory manager, was fired by UL in 2004 for publicly questioning the report being drafted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on their World Trade Center investigation. In the intervening period, Ryan has completed additional research while his original questions, which have become increasingly important over time, remain unanswered by UL or NIST.

It is a well kept secret that insurance companies are not required to account for the source of money to pay claims. The relationship between 9/11 and insurance industry money laundering needs further investigation by researchers who have more time and resources than I do.

Larry Silverstein's settlement for the WTC destruction of 9/11 was fraudulent. He received much more than the appraised value of the buildings. No regulatory agency oversees that insurance claims are actually paid with insurance company money. Insurance companies accept embezzled money to pay claims. The embezzled money cannot be traced back to its original source.

Here's activism almost anyone can do. Post banners on utility poles at intersections with stop lights. Bored passengers and drivers are a captive audience.

These are 4" wide banners with enlarged letters. The template file is attached. It is a source of inspiration to me to see some of my surviving banners months after they are placed. The banners say:

The wording was chosen based on the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep It Simple Stupid).

The banners last indefinitely, when covered with 2" packaging tape on a metal utility pole. They can also be posted on a wooden utility pole. The banners are on card stock and can last through the Oregon monsoon season.

Use heavy card stock paper, such as semi-vellum 65 lb. BrightHue ULTRA LIME color is an attention grabber. The template file was too large to upload. Print the banner with the largest font available. I use OpenOffice IMPACT 96 point font. Use a commercial copier to cut, paste and expand the font about 150%. Print a copy and scan it at home.

Rudy Guiliani made a surprise visit to Portland, Oregon. Word got out to the Portland 9/11 Truth Alliance, who demonstrated outside the restaurant where Guiliani was. Local TV news caught the action.

But those inside the restaurant left their pastrami-on-pumpernickel sandwiches and lined up to have their pictures taken with the candidate, who offered praise for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and jabbed at Democratic rival Hillary Clinton during his brief visit.
