Panel Prepares to Target Bogus “Homegrown Terror”

Panel Prepares to Target Bogus “Homegrown Terror”

December 26, 2007

On December 25, Audrey Hudson wrote for the Washington Times:

A commission proposed by key senators would study the emergence of homegrown terrorists and how U.S. citizens become radicalized through ideologies to commit acts of violence.

The National Commission on the Prevention of Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism is the brainchild of Sen. Joe Lieberman, Connecticut independent and chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, the ranking Republican member.

“The homeland security committee’s extensive and ongoing investigation into homegrown terrorism has confirmed to our committee that this is a real and growing threat to our nation’s security,” Miss Collins said.

“The attacks in London and Madrid, as well as the recent thwarted attacks in the U.S., were the work of homegrown terrorists inspired by, but not directly linked, to al Qaeda,” Miss Collins said. “But we do not yet fully understand what inspires someone to become a violent terrorist.

Senator Collins has absolutely no evidence of this and simply regurgitates the now official fairy tale version of events in regard to the attacks in London and Madrid...

Kurt Nimmo: George Monbiot’s Sour 9/11 Grapes

http://kurtnimmo.com/?p=777

It stinks of desperation. George Monbiot, inveterate leftist of the foundation financed environmentalist persuasion, has once again taken a swing at the “conspiracy idiots” who believe government is capable of mass murder, including the reflexive murder of its own subjects.

Not unlike his brethren, most notably Noam Chomsky and Alex Cockburn, Monbiot buys the Ward Churchill version of events in regard to the attacks of September 11, 2001—that is to say Osama and a small number of cave-dwelling Wahhabi fanatics magically made NORAD stand down and defied the immutable laws of physics, thus delivering one to the conclusion a piece of paper cannot be slipped between Monbiot and the moonstruck followers of the neocons, as they all buy the same Brothers Grimm fairy tale...

O’Reilly Sicks FBI on Fetzer, Barrett

O’Reilly Sicks FBI on Fetzer, Barrett

Friday October 13th 2006, 7:33 pm

Kurt Nimmo, Another Day in the Empire blog

Bill O’Reilly, the scurrilous “phone sex” deviant and prime time bully, wants nine eleven researchers and investigators arrested—or, more accurately under the so-called detainee bill, disappeared into Gestapo torture dungeons—and presumably brought up on treason charges, marched before a secret military tribunal, and sent to the gallows.

O’Reilly did not say as much when he abused and talked over Jim Fetzer last night, characterizing him as a “disgrace” to the country for not buying lock, stock, and barrel the official Grimm Brothers fairy tale version of events of what did and did not happen on September 11, 2001. Not only did the reprehensible O’Reilly, who had the academic Dr. Sami al-Arian arrested and charged as a terrorist, slander Fetzer and by extension anybody else who questions the government, he also demanded Fetzer be tailed by the FBI.

“I’d put the FBI on you and that nutty [professor Kevin] Barrett and find out what the hell you guys are up to,” threatened O’Reilly, basically insinuating that scholarly research is a crime, as of course “everything changed” after nine eleven, including the right to exercise the First Amendment. But then, as we know, or some of us know, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are now effectively dead and, increasingly, it is a crime to question the government, especially in an academic setting, same as it was after the Nazis took over in Germany...
