Refutation of Dave Thomas Critique of my North Tower Analysis

I have been reluctant to enter into mudwrestling events with debunkers and propagandists for what I see as blatant disinformation. I don't see these debates as productive. They are not about deepening the inquiry into events but rather fending off ever-morphing attacks by people who engage in deceptive argumentation. I have better uses for my time. I find that ignoring them works just as well and allows me to get on with my life.

However one hit piece by Dave Thomas has been the source of repeated questions in my in-box from people who sense something is wrong with his analysis but are not confident enough of their grasp of the physics to be sure. Rather than continuing to write individual explanations in email responses I have now posted a refutation of the attack on the http://911SpeakOut.org "Articles and Links" page here: http://911speakout.org/wp-content/uploads/Response-to-Dave-Thomas.pdf.

I hope this helps.

Recent Richard Gage - Dave Thomas debate. Thomas approach: throw #%*t on wall, hope something sticks.

Dave Thomas, a physics and math teacher, equates the Niels Harrit peer reviewed paper published in a scientific journal to a contradicting article published by "Skeptical Inquirer" in this 60 minute debate held two weeks ago on WMNF (WMNF.org, archives "Radio Activity", June 28) a public radio station in the Tampa Bay area. The program was originally scheduled as an interview but was unexpectantly changed to a debate the day before - possibly because the host decided to air an Amy Goodman special about the recent Supreme Court health care decison. Regardless, we were pleased that the program was aired at all and that Richard was able to cram in the time between a film presentation the night before in Tampa and one to follow the broadcast that same evening in St. Petersburg/Pinellas Park.

To enable future programs about 9-11 on this very popular and respected radio station, I think it would be important to send encouraging emails to Rob Lorei, the news and public affairs director for the station.

Thomas makes a few bizarre statements during the debate such as buildings are capable of falling faster than the rate of gravity and his unique explanation for the presence of micro spheres. He claims that the micro iron spheres found around the WTC site resulted from metal filings created during the colapse of the buildings and burned in much the same way that steel wool forms metal spheres when ignited by a cigarette lighter. With the vast amounts of metal spheres and motlen iron found around the WTC site, just how big would a ball a steel wool have to be?

"An excellent, concise, knockdown counterargument to the 9/11 Truthers’ “microspheres” thermite propaganda" says Jonathan Kay, managing editor of Canada's National Post and author of "Among The Truthers"

The Pacifica Radio ''Twin Towers Debate'' on 9/11/2011

by Ron Brookman, S.E.

Thank you to Mickey Huff and KPFA radio for hosting the Twin Towers debate on the tenth anniversary of September 11. Richard Gage and Niels Harrit described hard evidence for the controlled-demolition hypothesis; Dave Thomas and Richard Muller promoted the fire-induced collapse hypothesis. Listen to the entire debate at http://www.kpfa.org/archive/id/73245.

Richard Gage, AIA is a San Francisco Bay Area architect and founder of AE911Truth—a nonprofit organization with over 1,600 professional architects and engineers plus over 13,000 others who are calling for a science-based investigation of the destruction of the three high-rise buildings.1

Dr. Niels Harrit, associate professor emeritus of chemistry from the University of Copenhagen, has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals including ''Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe."2

The Pacifica Debates on 9/11 Tonight -- Tune In!

Tonight, Pacifica Radio (KPFA) is hosting the second radio debate between architect Richard Gage, AIA, and physicist Dave Thomas in New York City. Peter Phillips and Mickey Huff, directors and editors of Project Censored, will moderate.

Pacifica is the oldest public radio network in the U.S. Project Censored, housed at Sonoma State University and now in its 35th year, has been referred to by the Los Angeles Times as “offering devastating evidence of the dumbing-down of mainstream news in America”; as “one of the organizations that we should listen to, to be assured that our newspapers and our broadcasting outlets are practicing thorough and ethical journalism” by Walter Cronkite and as “a terrific resource” by Library Journal.
Physicist Dave Thomas will once again attempt to juggle the discrepancies in the official 9/11 story

Participants in Coast to Coast AM 9-11 debate speak out

September 5th, 2010, by Shawn Hamilton, theswillbucket.com

Most observers consider the informal Coast to Coast “debate” between architect Richard Gage, chemist and scholar Niels Harrit, and physicists Dave Thomas and Kim Johnson to have been a success although who “won” depends largely on who you ask. The August 21st event, which was more of a conversation than a formal debate, explored what caused the destruction of the three World Trade Center buildings on September 11, 2001. Gage and Harrit argued that explosives destroyed the buildings while Thomas and Johnson reaffirmed the official explanation that office fires ultimately led to collapses.

Complaints to Coast to Coast about Ian Punnett in 9/11 debate Aug 21 - Please Fwd to them if you agree!

Hi all,
If you missed it, here is the 9/11 debate on Coast to Coast on August 21 between Richard Gage of AE911Truth and Dave Thomas, posted on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzdSbjTEFcs

I listened to it and was really disgusted and annoyed by Ian Punnett's performance. It was highly obstructive, ignorant and crossed the line several times. Therefore, I've sent this letter of complaint to Coast to Coast management, including to Ian himself. Please read it and forward it to them if you agree, to their public emails below.

I strongly believe these complaints are legitimate and Ian's negative obstructive behavior should be called attention to. He was NOT a good host during this debate at all, and showed a lot of ignorance which he falsely pinned onto Richard. I gave some examples below in the letter.

Here it is. If you agree with it, copy and paste it and send it to their emails below. Or send them your own complaint letter. If enough people complain, they might listen and do something about their host's bad behavior.

On Saturday August 21st, 2010, Richard Gage, AIA from Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, and Dave Thomas a physicist from New Mexicans for Science and Reason, joined Ian Punnett on Coast to Coast AM for the entire program of 4 hours to debate how the World Trade Center buildings collapsed on September 11, 2001.

AE911Truth, physicists to debate World Trade Center destruction on Coast to Coast AM

A highly anticipated debate between two members of Architects and Engineers for 9-11 Truth and two physicists is scheduled for August 21, 2010. The debate will air on the popular late night talk show Coast to Coast AM with host Ian Punnett between 10pm - 2am Pacific time.

Richard Gage, AIA, founder of Architects and Engineers for 9-11 Truth and an architect for over twenty years, will be joined by Danish scientist, Niels Harrit, Associate Professor at University of Copenhagen—a chemist and university teacher with expertise in organic chemistry, photochemistry, fluorescence, and nanotechnology.

Harrit co-authored a peer-reviewed paper along with Dr. Steven Jones and several others, documenting their discovery of a highly energetic, nano-engineered form of thermite in World Trade Center dust. In its ordinary form, thermite, a mixture of iron oxide and aluminum powder, burns extremely hot –around 4500° F. – more than hot enough to melt iron, which melts at around 2700° F. Gage and Harrit will present evidence that the three World Trade Center skyscrapers were explosively demolished on September 11, 2001.
