Black Boxes

Recovery Workers Reportedly Found the Black Boxes From the Planes That Hit the WTC on 9/11, but Authorities Covered This Up

A poster depicting a plane's black boxes

The black boxes from the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, were found and retrieved in the weeks after the 9/11 attacks, a significant amount of evidence indicates. And yet government officials and the official investigation into the attacks have asserted that these devices were never recovered.

A plane's two black boxes record important information about a flight. The black boxes from American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175--the planes that hit the World Trade Center--could therefore have helped investigators determine what happened on these aircraft before they crashed on September 11.

Dan Rather's Most Interesting and Controversial 9/11 Reports

As the anchorman for CBS News, Dan Rather was part of numerous breaking stories on the day of 9/11 and its immediate aftermath. Several of these reports have disturbing implications regarding the nature of the attacks and the perpetrators. Here are some prime examples:

"Amazing, incredible... pick your word. For the 3rd time today.... it's reminiscent of the those pictures we've all seen too much on television before where a building was deliberately destroyed by well-placed dynamite to knock it down." Dan called it like he saw it. There are now 2,300 architects and engineers who agree: www.ae911truth.org

Dan Rather announces Giuliani has "flight recorder box" from WTC

Another on-air oddity from Dan Rather:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_RbtEkjqIU&feature=related#

Observations:

- Rather's language suggests he has knowledge of a video clip in custody of CBS News in which Giuliani "holds up" what he claims is a "flight recorder box" from the WTC wreckage.

- Rather introduces this clip, but immediately a BBC-style "technical problem" prevents its being aired.

- Giuliani would not make such an announcement to the national media casually--much less "hold up" the object in question--without confirmation that what had been found was indeed a "flight recorder box" and not the remains of some other electronic appliance from the debris.

This episode supports claims by FDNY personnel and an NTSB "insider" that the WTC "black boxes" were in fact found, and suggests the actual moment the blackout curtain descends on this matter in the corporate media.

9/11: Missing Black Boxes in World Trade Center

Friday, June 01, 2007

One of the more puzzling mysteries of 9-11 is what ever happened to the flight recorders of the two planes that hit the World Trade Center towers. Now it appears that they may not be missing at all.

Counterpunch has learned that the FBI has them.
