Yesterday, I sent an email to Kevin Potvin, owner/editor of the Republic, East Vancouver's usually kick-ass independent newspaper, about a recent 9/11 story published in his paper. I received an immediate response.

Citizen's Advocate interviewed me at the 9/11 Accountability Conference and posted it recently at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VeWjgp3nGE .

I also will be the host of a new 2 hour Radio Show on Monday Eveneings 7-9 pm (Pacific Time) on http://www.wtprn.com "We the People Radio Network." If there are any graphic artists who could help me with banners, or internet savvy folks who could help with a companion website- I'd appreciate it. The show will be "Questioning War- Organizing Resistance" and will challenge the reigning military paradigm, by exposing the lies used to trick people into supporting wars, as well as the deceptions used by the powerful for their own enrichment, and at the expense of people and planet. I want to highlight the courageous examples of people challenging the lies, war, and successfully mobilizing resistance to tyranny, oppression, and raising human consciousness. I'd like to locate our most articulate speakers and courageous organizers, and could use help from the 9/11 Truth Movement.

So who is participating in the 911 cover-up.

The entire mainstream media. Literally hundreds of TV stations, and newspapers, weekly news magazines, the wire services, and a few hundred radio stations, not only in the USA, but in Britain, Australia, and much of Western Europe. These people are either totally unreliable, too stupid to see what is right in front of them, or too scared to do their jobs properly. Would you ever again trust any reporter who decided to support the official government conspiracy, even though he/she knew it was a cavalcade of lies, because that person was afraid of losing their income?

No matter what you believe about who was responsible for 9/11, and how it went down, we're all amazed at how much political capital the events of that day produced for this administration: A bipartisan consensus on torture; an era of permanent war; detentions without trial; "no fly" lists for activists; the Bill of Rights gone with the wind, and a cowed professional media willing to self-censor and suppress pertinent information. The 9/11 "America Attacked" story has distracted us from the natural outrage we should feel over illegal wiretaps, stolen elections, hundreds of billions of dollars missing at the Pentagon, war profiteering, Enron and Cheney's secret energy policy.

But with Bush's popularity at a record low, a Zogby poll shows that over 40 percent of Americans now think there has been a "coverup" around 9/11. A more recent poll conducted at the Scripps-Howard/University of Ohio found more than a third of those asked said it was likely that "people in the federal government either assisted in the 9/11 attacks or took no action to stop the attacks because they wanted the United States to go to war in the Middle East."

Civil War Memorabia enthusiasts rejoiced Tuesday when it was announced that the popularity of the coveted objects had reached record levels in Iraq. Weapons such as rocket propelled grenades, handguns, explosives and depleted uranium had become increasingly valuable in recent weeks, a La Rochelle Times study showed.

If current memorabilia popularity remains at such high levels, it could have a profound effect on the development of Iraqi society and culture, as well as an influence on international oil prices. The Iraqi Dinar, once unpopular with foreign currency holders, could gain ground against other currencies if Iraq is flooded with even more potential Civil War memorabilia.

"In a few years, who knows what some of those depleted uranium rounds will be worth on the memorabilia market," said General Ann R. Key, currently overseeing the Fubar Province in central Iraq.

I was just over at BuzzFlash.net (the site where readers leave comments and "buzz" various articles from around the world) to see if there might be any 9/11 truth articles. I found one from Scholars for 9/11 Truth -- I believe it's the article by Stephen Jones (my Acrobat just crashed, so can't check right now) but the point is that whoever controls BuzzFlash.net put a "Warning! This story may be inaccurate. Be careful before you buzz" right above it. WTF? Two of us have left comments taking issue with that -- we need more 9/11 Bloggers to come in and buzz the story and leave comments.

Both of them made their living working for the "progressive" media, so our discussions were much longer and little more heated.
I'm sure we've all have had similar conversations within our own local antiwar/antiglobalization/activist communities.(Thanks, Chomsky!!!!!!)
In these interviews I continued to stay away from a debate on the evidence and stick with the general theme of Left Media and The role of 911 Truth.

Sept. 13, 2006 -- The "Left Gatekeepers" came in for stringent criticism at the 911 Truth conference in New York on Sept. 10. The so-called liberal "progressive" movement is rife with those who proclaim their opposition to the Iraq War while debunking its root cause -- the highly compartmentalized covert operation that led to the 911 attacks in order to bring about the Project for the New American Century "New Pearl Harbor" agenda of a global American empire and a fascist regime here at home. Speaker after speaker commented on these "left gatekeepers" and their magazines, web sites, and radio networks disguised as "progressive" and "liberal." WMR has identified many of these gatekeepers in the past. Craig Hill, the Green candidate for the U.S. Senate from Vermont is challenging one "left gatekeeper," Independent "Socialist" Bernie Saunders who is running for the Senate with the intention of caucusing with the Democrats in the absence of an official Democratic candidate. Hill contends that Saunders is a left gatekeeper who will not investigate 911 further and endorsed a future U.S. military attack on Iran. For that reason, WMR heartily endorses Craig Hill for the U.S. Senate from Vermont. The "left gatekeepers" must be thrown out of Congress along with the neo-cons.

I received an email earlier today from a reader suggesting that I balance TheFilter.ca’s coverage of 9/11 with an Alex Cockburn article posted to Znet called “The 9/11 Conspiracy Nuts: How They Let the Guilty Parties of 9/11 Slip Off the Hook”

I thought I would post my response, simply because it expresses some of the frustration I’ve had over the last week with much of the alternative media’s coverage of the fifth anniversary of 9/11.

Thanks for your interest in the site, and your story suggestion.

I had actually read Cockburn’s article when it was put up on Counterpunch, and some similar pieces from other Big Alternative sites, and decided to pass on posting them. Reading Cockburn’s again, I felt the same way I did about it the first time around: disappointed, but not surprised.

The article is one of the most hollow, dishonest outbursts that I’ve seen in a long time on an alternative news site and frankly, it really knocks Counterpunch, Znet, and the Nation (who also published it), down a few pegs on the integrity board.
