Every year, many concerned citizens desiring a new and independent investigation into the events of 9/11 organize informative presentations on campus. Despite the enormous energies and the high-level professionalism invested into the gatherings, one paradoxical observation stands out: the number of professors in attendance are little to none.

The 9/11 in the Academic Community documentary team has carefully studied the communication gap between activists and academics. Taboo subjects such as the critical study of evidence surrounding the events of 9/11 are unlikely to be resolved in a public manner. Most attempts at publicly raising the issue result in heated confrontations and negative media attention. The documentary team has implemented a private strategy that has time and again proven to produce powerful results.

Some of the many updates are as follows:
- A distinguished professor and former president of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) liked the film and a former AAUP general secretary and State University of New York president endorsed the film.
- Over the last six months, supportive reviews have been frequently received (almost every other week) from top academics new to the subject. Recent ones include a distinguished professor at Cornell University and a distinguished professor in Canada (also an elected Officer of the Order of Canada and the Royal Society of Canada) were quite moved by the film and are supportive of it.
- The administrators of one of UK's top universities (equivalent to an American Ivy league university) are doing an internal screening of the film.
- Students have been very receptive to the film and have been organizing screenings on campus. A growing number of professors across North America are involving it into curriculum.
- The film was reviewed by a Harvard University employee and was entered into their library: http://library.harvard.edu/
The film is making its way into university libraries across North America.
- Supportive reviews received from high-level officials which includes a person working under Obama, a political science head of department and advisor to his country's national defense command, and a former employee who served in the directorate on counterterrorism operations within the White House.
