RON PAUL IS NOT THE 9/11 TRUTH CANDIDATE!

I'll probably take a little bit of heat for this post but it has to be said...

Ron Paul makes his stance on 9/11 clear...again:

Glenn Beck is right, a lot of people believe that Ron Paul secretly thinks that 9/11 was an inside job but won't say it because he doesn't want to ruin his chances of getting elected, etc. This is simply not true. Look folks, Ron Paul is great, I really like the things that he has to say, and he is one of the three truth tellers in this race (the other two are Gravel and Kucinich). However, if you want to support a 9/11 truth candidate, Ron Paul is not your man.

My main issue is bringing about a new 9/11 investigation and I am not willing to put all my eggs in the basket of a guy who has not promised one. Both Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel have promised that their administrations would re-open the 9/11 investigation. This is why I don't understand for the life of me why 90% of the people in the 9/11 truth movement are supporting Ron Paul for president. Yes, he is great, but NOT THE 9/11 TRUTH CANDIDATE! It feels like many people who support Ron Paul make him what they want him to be even if he doesn't agree with their agenda at all. I, personally, am endorsing Mike Gravel for president and I encourage members of the 9/11 truth movement to please think seriously before casting your vote in the primary elections for Ron Paul.

And please...refrain from the ill-advised "gun grabber" comments.

Open, transparent gov't is

Open, transparent gov't is Ron Paul's motto. What other candidate would you want to vote for to get this accomplished? I mean, Kucinich? Don't get me wrong, except for liberal policies, I LIKE KUCINICH! (mainly due to his 9/11 stance). However, there is no chance in HELL that Kucinich will get the Dem Nomination. With Paul, there is actually a real chance.

While true that he doesn't support our views that 9/11 was an Inside Job, he doesn't have to. He would make it so we can get a new investigation all by our selves. No more spying, or patriot act, or Military Commissions act. Back to the way things were before 9/11 and many years before that as well.

Although Paul is not a truther (yet), I support him 110%!

There are literally millions

There are literally millions of people in the 9/11 truth movement who are supporting Ron Paul. If those people put their support behind Kucinich he'd actually stand a fighting chance at getting the democratic nomination.

RP apologist Mantra

RP is our only hope,
Kucincih hasn't got a chance

Not so!

Over 110,000 people voted in IndependentPrimary.Com.

Kucinich won over 75% of the votes cast on the Democratic side.
And Rep. Ron Paul won overwhelmingly on the Republican side.

RP supporters are very noisy but they
DO NOT REPRESENT THE TRUTH MOVEMENT!

Many RP supporters have turned their back on the truth movement, saying that getting RP elected is more important than 911 truth.
None energetically support the call to hold impeachment hearings and some say it's not important or won't accomplish anything.

I conducted a poll and more people at JREF were in favor of impeachment than at LC.

Paul is not a truther (yet) but maybe someday he will stop being willfully ignorant and look at the evidence.
Maybe he'll ask his friend Alex Jones about 911.

...

Is Hillary a truther ? Is Obama ?
Did you you see the interview with Ron Paul where he said that neo-cons, zionists and Oil$ was behind 9-11 ?
Do you think Hillary would ever say that ? or do something about it ?

Both Dennis Kucinich and

Both Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel have promised that their administrations would re-open the 9/11 investigation. This is why I don't understand for the life of me why 90% of the people in the 9/11 truth movement are supporting Ron Paul for president.

That's all fine and dandy -- and don't get me wrong, I love both of these two candidates -- but 9/11 truth is too important to risk placing my vote where it, I'm afraid to say, will have the least impact. Ron Paul stands a much better chance of winning the election. AND, I fundamentally support all of his views. That he will not completely openly support 9/11 truth is flat-out NO BIG DEAL. As I said it before (and I'll say it again) I simply do not believe Ron Paul will stand in the way of a new 9/11 investigation if the facts warrant it. And you and I and everyone here knows that they unequivocally do.

The choice between voting for a candidate that very well might win and pave a clear way to a new 9/11 investigation against voting for a candidate that likely won't win but promises a new 9/11 investigation is no choice at all, I'm sorry to say.

Dr. Paul is too intelligent not to smell a rat when it comes to

9/11, so I think he is playing it smart and safe. He does not want himself and his movement to end up like Paul Wellstone.

Ron Paul supports a real 9/11 investigation

Dr. Paul expressed support for a real investigation into 9/11, in this video taken by Students for 9/11 Truth:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=d91a13Yr3oQ

His reply on that question begins about 2:15 into the video.

If Dr. Paul is indeed willing to support a genuine investigation into 9/11, that's all we need.

Yes! That's my video! I'm

Yes! That's my video! I'm fully aware of what he said in it. However, he is still not the 9/11 truth candidate!

No contradiction, just a different emphasis.

Excellent! I didn't notice your association. I appreciate the good work you are doing.

I am simply saying that if Dr. Paul would, as he appears to have indicated, support a real, independent, no-holds barred investigation, that is all we really need. And from what I can tell, he is the only candidate with even a prayer of winning the nomination that has endorsed a genuine investigation. (I'd love to be wrong on that.)

I'm not attempting here to contradict your point, if by "911 Truth Candidate" you mean someone who has embraced--and publicly supports--our views about 9/11. Dr. Paul has publicly disavowed our stance, so your point stands. I think, however, that this represents an impractical definition a/o application of the phrase.

To me, the "911 Truth Candidate" would be the one most likely to actually help us achieve our objectives, regardless of what he currently believes about 9/11. Dr. Paul, being the only one who supports a REAL investigation, is such a candidate, and the only viable candidate whose election would substantially further our goals. And I think this is the only practical consideration that should guide our judgment here.

Again, thanks for all you have done for 9/11 Truth!

Genocide is okay

>>why 90% of the people in the 9/11 truth movement are supporting Ron Paul for president.

They're not, it just seems like they are from the loudness and the intensity of the way he is pushed on us by a few.

Ron Paul does have a lot of supporters, but not the majority of the 9/11 truth movement. Most people I talk to, once they see the full scope of his positions, are surprised.

He is presented to us as the "truth candidate," yet never ihas conducted any investigations as a congressperson into cover-ups that I have seen. Why has he never spoken out about 9/11 until his campaign?

There are many contradictions in Paul's positions. Here's one scary example of how his strict adherence to non-intervention (= isolationist) plays out --

In a National Public Radio interview, Paul advocated a "moral statement" rather than direct military humanitarian intervention such as in the Darfur conflict or Rwandan Genocide.[32] In his speech before the House on a related bill, H. Con. Res. 467[33], Paul rejected the proposal for "[urging] the Administration to seriously consider multilateral or even unilateral intervention to stop genocide in Darfur should the UN Security Council fail to act." Paul argued the unrelatedness of the proposal to "the US national interest" or "the Constitutional function of [United States] military forces".[34] The resolution passed unanimously, with Paul among 12 non-voters.[35]

Paul was the only "no" vote on House Resolution 180, the Darfur Accountability and Divestment Act of 2007 (passed 418-1-13), which intended to "require the identification of companies that conduct business operations in Sudan, [and] to prohibit United States Government contracts with such companies."[36] Paul cited the past ineffectiveness of sanctions against Cuba and Iraq as evidence against divestment from businesses connected to the Sudanese government.[37] Proponents of Sudanese divestment legislation cite recent advertisement campaigns by the Sudanese government, and the complete withdrawal of large suppliers such as CHC Helicopter Corporation, Rolls Royce, and ABB, as evidence of the effectiveness of Sudanese divestment.[38]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul#Darfur

So once he gets rid of the UN, we can all read about genocides in the history books which occurred because US interests which we sat back and ignored after they happened.

I presume that Ron Paul

voted the way he did on these issues because of his non-interventionist -- NOT isolationist -- position. Using your line of reasoning, we should then -- as just one out of a great many examples -- have tried to oust Pinochet for his abuse of Chilean civil rights. Also, your position seems to justify our invasion of Iraq on the grounds that "Saddam was gassing his own people" (with weapons we supposedly gave him, no less).

Taking the interventionist approach is exactly why the U.S. has as of late been accused of trying too often to police the world. We are better off leading by example and not by force. And besides, we have our own sick and dying to worry about.

"Peace is not the absence of conflict. It is the ability to handle conflict through peaceful means."

Ron Paul's committee

Ron Paul's committee membership:

Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade and Technology
Chairman Luis V. Gutierrez (IL) leads the subcommittee. The subcommittee’s jurisdiction includes domestic monetary policy, and agencies which directly or indirectly affect domestic monetary policy, multilateral development lending institutions such as the World Bank, coins and currency including operations of the Bureau of the Mint and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and international trade and finance including all matters pertaining to the International Monetary Fund and the Export-Import Bank.

I am not sure but I think the House Rules probably dictate who can call for an investigation within the scope of a specific committee. I am no poli/sci person but I think this may relate to your question.
"He is presented to us as the "truth candidate," yet never ihas conducted any investigations as a congressperson into cover-ups that I have seen. Why has he never spoken out about 9/11 until his campaign?"

And for the record - I think of him as a Champion of the Constitution, not a 'Truth Candidate" - not saying they are mutually exclusive, but besides Alex Jones & Co. I don't see this mixing...

Glenn Beck wanted to divide the 9/11 Truth movement

from Ron Paul. That entire series of questions was designed for that purpose. And here you are parroting Glenn Beck's strategy. And here we are arguing about it. All arguments aside, can you not see when you're being manipulated?

Ummm...no. I've had this

Ummm...no. I've had this opinion for quite some time after I had to take a lot of heat after having my video played on the O'Reilly Factor. Glenn Beck simply got Paul to repeat what he's said about the 9/11 truth movement several times. I haven't been manipulated, I'm simply looking at the facts, and the fact is, Paul is not a truther...PERIOD!

I support Paul...

because he wants to abolish the Federal Reserve system and the IRS. What if justice was truly served? What if there was a truly independent investigation which led to criminal proceedings and all of the people who had a hand in the execution of 9/11 faced justice? The problem still wouldn't have been fixed. If you look at the financing and insuring of the WTC you realise that people like Maurice Greenberg and Peter G. Peterson were involved in that aspect - people who sit on boards and committees with David Rockefeller. Then you have Aaron Russo's confessions of conversations he had with Nick Rockefeller, who spilled the beans to him before the fact about an "event" to be followed by a war on terror and an Iraq invasion. Obviously the planning of 9/11 did not start and end with people in the Bush administration or the neoconservatives, nor with the military-industrial complex or Mossad. It went higher, it went to the owners of the Fed. Regardless of what Ron Paul believes about 9/11, if he says he wants to go after that cash-cow of the plutocrats, to cut off the "head of the beast" as it were, well then he's got my vote.

Well said Sanders!

He'll get my vote to for those very reasons if he can win the nom.

Not so fast...

Will Ron Paul be doing the actual 9/11 investigations? No.

Are some truthers still confused about facts and details from 9/11? Yes.

Does Ron Paul support a REAL, criminal investigation? Yes.

Do we have to worry about Ron Paul covering up the crimes of 9/11? No.

Is Ron Paul a sound and wise choice for President? Yes.

http://PatriotsQuestion911.com#Paul

Caller: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I'm tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?

Congressman Paul: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don't have that in place. It will be a little bit better now with the Democrats now in charge of oversight. But you know, for top level policy there's not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn't going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on."

Even if Ron Paul doesn't win, he has set the world stage for liberty, rights>privelages, checks and balances, restoration of a Constitutional Republic, etc. I don't hear these intelligent issues from ANYONE else. All I hear are sound bytes and banter. The PTB would pull any easy media tricks to discredit Ron Paul early; look how hard Beck tried........and failed. Double talk

RP dances around the question saying "we have to keep pushing for it" and "more or less cover-up" but he has made it crystal clear that he does NOT believe, nor will he investigate the possibility of 911 being an inside job.

He says it was Muslim extremists.
He is friends with Alex Jones and appears on his show.
How could he not know any of the FACTS about 911?
He is either willfully ignorant or he is lying!

This is a meaningless generalization, a sound bite.
"he has set the world stage for liberty, rights>privelages, checks and balances, restoration of a Constitutional Republic"

RP does not support the Truth Movement!

Stop pretending that he will investigate if 911 was an inside job , HE WILL NOT!

Not so fast...

These aren't sound bytes, they are facts. Ron Paul will NOT be do ANY investigating but he WILL enable liberty and freedom. Since Ron Paul is genuine and supports liberty, he supports the "truth movement". I'm not pretending he will investigate 9/11, you are. Ron Paul is not going to make me any less of a truther because he personally doesn't believe it was "the govt". Sounds like you need to listen to the show I posted above to realize how important it is to get Ron Paul in the Whitehouse.
