This will be my last post as the founder of Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth. Our website, www.sst911.org, has been deleted. This is not to say that we are backing away from our activism in regard to a new 9/11 investigation. To offer a simple explanation, here is the email I sent to all of my members earlier this week:

Hello everyone,

I hope that all of your summers are going well. I have some news and am just going to go right into it: During the past year and a half we have accomplished a lot on behalf of demanding justice, accountability, and closure in regard to 9/11. However, 9/11 is part of a much larger picture. A picture that encompasses many forms of government corruption that need to be addressed and brought to the forefront of everyone's consciousness (i.e. election fraud, wars of aggression, domestic spying, torture, etc.).

Mike Jackman, Co-Founder of Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth, will appear tomorrow morning on Empire Watch hosted by George Corrette and Pat Riot from 9-10 AM on Thursday, July 24th. Jackman will be discussing his latest research into Obama's desired foreign policy advisors, why he's supporting Cynthia McKinney for president, as well as making an announcement regarding the future of Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth.

The New England 9/11 Symposium, held this past Saturday (5/17/08) in Keene, NH, was a tremendous success. We had a great turn out and received local and, of course, independent media coverage.

First, the morning began at 9:45 a.m. with Bob McIlvaine's heartfelt speech, which is a reminder that, as Jon Gold put it, what we feel is nothing compared to what family members like McIlvaine feel. The part of his remarks that stuck out to me the most was when McIlvaine detailed his experiences researching 9/11 on his own and described his utter disgust with the 9/11 Commission. While speaking about the Commission he mentioned the day that Condoleeza Rice testified about the August 6th, 2001 PDB. To him it was obvious that Rice was spinning, lying, and not directly answering any questions posed to her by the Commissioners, who's questions were light as it was. He talked of how outraged he was when, after Rice testified, family members were rushing to shake her hand. The deception was so blatant how could the others not see it? I, as well as many others, believe that Bob is very strong and very brave.

Thank you for the suggestion of checking my sources. If you take the time to read those articles, you will see that both sides of the aisle had issues with the way the Bush Administration dealt with the investigations of 9/11. Also, the people that were most affected by that day also had several issues with their conduct as well. With regard to your predecessors Ari Fleischer, Scott McClellan, and Tony Snow, if you could set up interviews for me with each of them, I would be more than happy to discuss this information. However, with regard to the last article cited in this video clip entitled, "9/11 - the big cover-up?", it is from September 2007, so I would also like to request another interview with you when you have the time. The recent news concerning Philip Zelikow from NYTimes Reporter Phil Shenon, to quote the September 11th Advocates, brings into question "the veracity of the entire Commission’s report." It also resulted in them calling for an entirely new investigation. In fact, that is the only article cited in this video that is not considered "mainstream". The reason for this is because what is considered "mainstream", did not bother to cover their request. This is not spin. This is a request by those most affected by that day to finally learn the who, how, and why of 9/11 so they can have some much deserved justice and solace.

It is true, we have not been attacked since September 11th, 2001, and thank God for that. However, as a result of that day, we have started two wars that are still going on, and thousands have been killed. We have changed our entire way of life here in America in the name of "Security". If that day is not what we were led to believe, then we need to know about it, and we need to know about it now.I hope this letter finds you in good spirits, as well as in good health. I also look forward to our next interview.

Bob McIlvaine, Sr. - McIlvaine lost his son, Bobby McIlvaine, Jr., on 9/11. Mr. McIlvaine attended every 9/11 Commission hearing and has been a vocal critic of the official account of 9/11. As a member of September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, McIlvaine has traveled all over the world speaking about 9/11, his perspective on the events of that day, and demanding justice for his son and the other innocents who perished along with him.

Daniel Hopsicker - An investigative journalist, author, and documentary film maker, Hopsicker arrived in Florida two months after 9/11 to look into activities of the alleged hijackers and their connection to Huffman Aviation. What he uncovered became the basis for “Welcome to Terrorland: Muhammed Atta and the 9/11 Cover Up in Florida.” Hopsicker is still located in Florida and his up to date research can be found at http://www.madcowprod.com/.

Michele Little - Little lost her brother, FDNY Firefighter, David M. Weiss, on 9/11. Along with 9/11 Family Members Donna Marsh O‘Connor and Christina Kminek, Little called for a real investigation into 9/11 at the National Press Club on 9/11/06. Michele is also an advocate for the First Responders of 9/11 and works to raise awareness of the health issues that these heroes are currently facing. She is also one of the founding members of http://www.2ndresponders.org/.

Sander Hicks - An author and investigative journalist, Sander delivers the type of hard-hitting journalism that all journalists should. Hicks is the founder of Soft Skull Press and the owner of the Vox Pop, a progressive coffee house and outlet for independent media and publishing. Hicks has done extensive research into the ISI/Pakistan connection to 9/11 and published “The Big Wedding,” detailing the whistle blowers and the many conflicts of interest within the 9/11 Commission. Hicks will speak about his current investigation into the mysterious death of Dr. David Graham.

Donna Marsh O’Connor - O’Connor lost her daughter, Vanessa Lang Langer. Along with 9/11 Family members, Michele Little and Christina Kminek, O’Connor called for a real investigation into 9/11 at the National Press Club on 9/11/06. O’Connor has been very active in recent years in spreading the truth about 9/11. She is also on the advisory board of http://www.911truth.org/.

Barrie Zwicker - Zwicker is an award-winning Canadian alternative media journalist, documentary producer, and political activist. Mr. Zwicker’s presentation will pertain to “media blackout” of the alternative view of 9/11, a subject of which Zwicker has been published a book (“Towers of Deception) and produced three documentaries (The Great Deception, The Great Conspiracy, and Deep Complicity).

Jason Bermas - Bermas is a documentary film maker and activist. The two films Bermas has produced so far, Loose Change 2nd Edition and Loose Change Final Cut, are responsible for bringing the 9/11 Truth Movement onto the brink of becoming mainstream. Declaring dissenters to be mentally ill is a tactic as old as time itself. The Soviets would declare political dissidents to be mentally ill and would ship them off to a mental institution.

The US mainstream media still insist that those who demand an independent investigation must suffer from some sort of mental illness. The Australian Media, the Canadian Media, the Japanese media and the Italian media have for the past few months been airing charges of 9/11 as an inside job. The Italian media has done what the US media is too afraid of doing - allowing family members on air to criticize the official story.

An Open Letter to the Progressive Left

During this primary season, many advocates for a new investigation into the events surrounding 9/11 have been greeted with a tremendous amount of hostility. The thing is, most of this hostility has not been from “right-wingers,” but mostly from members of the so called progressive left. As registered Democrats, we personally, have been told that we are an “embarrassment to the party,” and called names that we will not repeat. Why has the left shown so much hostility towards advocates of 9/11 truth and justice?

As of January, 2007, the Bush Administration had been caught telling 935 lies. No folks, we didn’t say mistakes, they told 935 LIES. The most audacious lies being the administration’s manipulation of intelligence used to get us into war with Iraq. These lies have, as of today, claimed a total of 3,975 in Iraq alone. The U.S. led occupation in Iraq has also claimed close to 90,000 Iraqi civilian lives. All of this death and destruction has been due bold face lies told by the Bush Administration.

What was just outlined in the paragraph above is not disputed by members of the progressive left or even by their beloved candidates, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL). Why then, after this criminal administration has been caught in 935 lies, some of which have led to close to 100,000 deaths, is this administration given a free pass by the left when it comes to 9/11? While we don’t agree with labeling the ideas advanced by the 9/11 Truth Movement as conspiracy theories, let us, for the sake of the argument discuss the idea of conspiracy theories involving the Bush Administration. Please also remember, a conspiracy is, by definition, “an agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act.” Therefore, when the progressive left asserts that the President and his administration knowingly manipulated intelligence in order to lead our nation to war in Iraq, they are advancing what can be defined as a conspiracy theory. Is the left only interested in advancing conspiracy theories that are popular and accepted by the rest of their constituents?

Additionally, the Bush Administration fought very hard to stifle any inquiry into 9/11. If 9/11 was a major government failure, as is maintained by proponents of the official account, then wouldn’t the president and vice president want to know everything about that failure and reprimand or fire those responsible? Instead, we’ve seen two inquiries, one led by the Congress and one by the 9/11 Commission. Both of these inquiries were given limited access to information, and in the case of the 9/11 Commission, led by a White House insider. Even if the official version of events is true, how is this acceptable? Don’t the family members of the victims of 9/11 deserve to have answers as to why their loved ones are no longer with us? Don’t we, as Americans, deserve to know?

In conclusion, we implore the progressive left to support the millions of concerned citizens across the United States who are advocating for an independent inquiry into 9/11. Advocating for a real investigation into 9/11 is not subscribing to conspiracy theories. It’s subscribing to the idea of truth, accountability, and justice. What’s so bad about that? Remember, these people are proven liars, their lies have led to the deaths of thousands of people. Why should 9/11 be treated any differently?

Despite setbacks, organizers have high hopes for FP Talent Show

Auditions for the FP Talent Show were scheduled to take place this weekend, however were postponed until the end of the month.

Despite the postponements, plans surrounding the annual charity talent show are progressing with heighten excitement. This is the first year the Pierce Activities Council (formerly Campus Activities Board) has not been the main contributor to the funding and organization of the event. However, the Student Government Association (SGA) and several individuals have dedicated themselves to coordinate another spectacular event which fills the fieldhouse every spring.

Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Former New Hampshire Governor and current candidate for the U.S. Senate against incumbent Sen. John Sununu Jr. (R-NH), answered a few questions about advocating for a new 9/11 investigation should she be elected to the U.S. Senate. Shaheen has a lot of support in New Hampshire and with the Republican defeats of 2006 and the inevitable failure of the Republicans to secure the White House in 2008, it looks as though Shaheen will be the next Senator from New Hampshire...

This video is unique, not only because it contains the latest version of Richard Gage's presentation, but because it features a video of a one on one presentation that Richard gave to one of New Hampshire's most widely circulated newspapers, The Keene Sentinel.

Our local 9/11 Truth Group, the Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance, has done a lot of work to try and get the Keene Sentinel to fairly cover this issue. Up until recently the most they would do was allow local 9/11 Truth activists to submit letters to the editor, while simultaneously running elaborate opinion pieces by proponents of the government's account, one of which suggested that Rosie O'Donnell "ate Building Seven." To add insult to injury, the Keene Sentinel then sent a reporter to the premiere of Loose Change Final Cut, which was sponsored by Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth and the Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance. The reporter refused to pay the $10 entry fee, bear in mind that all proceeds were donated to the FealGood Foundation, and not a word of the premiere was ever printed in the Keene Sentinel.

Only recently, did the Keene Sentinel provide fair coverage of local 9/11 Truth activists with two separate articles. One about the Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance and Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth (http://jamartell.blogspot.com/2008/02/keene-sential-covers-student-scholars.html). After the printing of the two articles, Jim Roumaniere, the Keene Sentinel's chief Editor, agreed to meet with and view Richard Gage's presentation in a private session. According to a member of the Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance, George Corrette, who was present at the meeting, Roumaniere was "was pretty well shaken by Richard's entire oeuvre of information."

This sit down presentation was incredibly effective. The Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance and Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth encourage all 9/11 Truth activists to try and set up similar meetings with local press. One of the main things that needs to happen is the media black out needs to end. Local media is a great place to start.
