Michael Collins posted, at COTO Report, a video of the Victoria BC 9/11 folks giving a press conference, with engineer Werner Simbeck reading the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth press release. At the end, Werner gave an interview. We had marvelous coverage from a local mainstream cable TV station. This material has been posted in a couple blogs on 911 Blogger. I am part of the Victoria group, so have a particular interest in this.

The video is under attack by someone I suspect is disinfo troll (or a group), or perhaps just a psuedo-skeptic. It is someone who clearly invested considerable time in looking at our material in order to trash it.

Originally I had this information posted below as a comment at this site, but wish to elevate it to the status of a blog.

It is not clear how to tackle psuedo-skeptics or disinformation trolls, nor how to readily distinguish one from the other.

I realize it is hard to believe anyone would use this "reasoning", even government shills.
However, here is one example of it's use, from a recent article by Michael Shermer in Scientific American: "Conspiricists argue that the buildings should have fallen over on their sides, but with 95 percent of each building consisting of air, they could only have collapsed straight down."

I believe the "95%" claim was originally made by Thomas Eager in this paper,.
and then parroted by Shermer and others, such as here.

This statement, of course, is not only meant to explain a vertical collapse, but also to imply that the towers were somehow insubstantial. It is a ridiculous, obvious shill tactic, transparent to anyone with two brain cells to rub together. Whover uses this idiotic phrase needs to be called on it by the 911 truth community immediately.

This list is getting longer by the minute. At some point it becomes prudent to ask whether these left gatekeepers (Chomsky, Cockburn, Pitts, et al.) are being paid off in cash or scared off by anthrax? What else could possibly explain the lock step tone and tenor of this sudden deluge of "9/11 Truth Movement" hit pieces? In this latest installment, we are accused of ignoring "reality".

Eventhough Mr. Frank concedes that many unanswered questions remain, he somehow makes the leap that no possible answer "would ever indicate the US government was behind the (9/11) bloody affair". But he accuses "us" of being disconnected from "reality"?

Mr. Frank goes on to accuse the Truth Movement of "willfully ignoring that we’ve got real wars going on in the Middle East right now", never once making the connection that 9/11 was the "new Pearl Harbor" upon which these real wars were launched.

There is a saying that "ignorance is temporary, but stupid is forever". In Mr. Franks case, it's six in one hand, half dozen in the other, in as much as his column is among the most stupidly ignorant that I have read in a long time. Believe me... that's saying alot!

Unfortunately, with the increasing level of instability being displayed by Bush and his administration, we are all living in a new "reality" that is becoming increasingly dangerous to ignore.

National Columnist Leonard Pitts Joins the long list of government apologists and shameless shills with his latest column casting those who would have the temerity to question the "official record" as nothing more than "rote rejectionist" incapable (or perhaps unworthy) of "honest debate".

Just the facts . . . at least as we know them

Apparently I made a major error of fact in a recent column. It turns out, contrary to what I wrote, there never was a Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the United States. It wasn't hijacked airliners that brought down the twin towers of the World Trade Center. Nor did any airplane plow into the Pentagon. Nor did United Flight 93 come to Earth in a field in Shanksville, Pa. Rather, this tragedy was staged by the U.S. government in order to dupe the nation into an oil war in the Middle East.

Or at least so I am told by a surprising plurality of readers. Add to that Hugo Chávez, president of Venezuela and renowned loose cannon, who said in a speech Tuesday it's possible the U.S. government had a hand in attacking itself on Sept. 11.

9/11 paranoia breeds nutball conspiracy tales

The Democratic nominee in Florida's 15th congressional district maintains a website outlining positions on abortion, border security, gay marriage and beach renourishment (''We must do it smarter'') that wouldn't strike anyone as political paranoia.

But Robert Bowman, who won Tuesday's primary with 54.5 percent of the vote, offers a treatise on 9/11 that could serve as a manifesto for conspiracy theorists. ''If they have nothing to hide, why are they hiding everything?'' the nominee asks.

Sept. 11 theorists generally tend to obsess with one explanation or another of those shattering events. Some proffer a theory that CIA agents had stoked the World Trade Center with explosives. (The airliners were just a ruse.) Others claim a cruise missile, not a commercial airliner, hit the Pentagon. Others claim Flight 93 was shot down over Pennsylvania by our own military jets.

HIJACKERS ALIVE?

Bowman embraces the whole mad smorgasbord. And he adds the notion some of the hijackers have been spotted since 9/11, ''alive and well.'' He dismisses al Qaeda attempts to take credit. 'Why does the `Osama bin Laden' in the 'confession' videotape have a nose about an inch shorter than the real Osama bin Laden?''
