A Mighty Heart Talks About Omar Sheikh

Excerpts From "A Mighty Heart"

A few days ago, I saw this report which said:

"In the fall of 2001, Wall Street Journal bureau chief Daniel Pearl wrote an article describing the belief in Pakistan that 9/11 was a CIA-Mossad-Jewish plot and that all the Jews got out of the World Trade Center.

The Journal scotched the story, according to Mariane Pearl’s memoir, “A Mighty Heart.”

So, I had to go buy the book to see what they were talking about. This posting is a result of that purchase.

Since I posted this, I found a few more interesting tidbits.

Here's an interview between "Foreign Policy" and Mariane Pearl:

Desperate Disinformation Campaign

What we are seeing right now is one of the last, pathetic attempts of this administration to save itself from the truth about 9/11. First they rolled out KSM, with his confessions about 9/11 and every other terrorist plot in the last twenty years. As if they really expect us to believe in the first place something which has been entirely mediated through the Pentagon and CIA after three years in a secret torture prison, there are gaping holes in KSM's story. First off, he "admitted" to a terror plot against a building for which the planning didn't even begin until 2006... and yet he's supposedly been in custody for three or four years now. Secondly, he supposedly admits to killing journalist Daniel Pearl. But someone else has already been brought in for that killing- Omar Sheikh. Notice how US-Pakistani relations have been cooling off lately? Maybe it's to do with the fact that Pakistani President General Musharaff outed Omar Sheik about six months ago as an MI-6 agent.

U.S. Looks At Plan To Oust Musharraf

I think it's interesting that Musharraf is no longer the ally in the "War On Terror" that he used to be. I also think it's interesting how the United States can arbitrarily decide to do what it wants with Pakistan's leadership. I also think it's interesting that Musharraf came out with this interesting tidbit just 6 months ago:

"It is believed in some quarters that while Omar Sheikh was at the LSE he was recruited by the British intelligence agency MI6. It is said that MI6 persuaded him to take an active part in demonstrations against Serbian aggression in Bosnia and even sent him to Kosovo to join the jihad. At some point he probably became a rogue or double agent." - Jon

THE US has indicated for the first time that it might be willing to back plans by elite echelons of the military in Islamabad to oust Pervez Musharraf from power, as the Pakistani President was beset by major new difficulties over his attempts to sack the country's chief justice.

9/11 Press For Truth Accused of Spreading Disinformation

[NOTE: This is a full response to the recent blog entry accusing 9/11 Press For Truth of spreading disinformation via the ISI link to 9/11. Be sure to note that the intention of this thread is not to exchange insults or divide the ‘truth community’, but rather to inspire friendly debate, further analysis, and a better understanding of the issue at hand. So keep it civil!]

9/11 'paymaster' back in court, may be cleared of Pearl's death

9/11 'paymaster' back in court, may be cleared of Pearl's death
The American Monitor
Devlin Buckley, 12/14/06

After four and a half years of delays, a Pakistani court has once again resumed hearing the appeals of four men convicted for the kidnap and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

In 2002, the 9/11 ‘paymaster,’ Omar Sheikh, was sentenced to death for Pearl’s execution, while three others were sentenced to life in prison.

Omar, a suspected CIA asset who reportedly wired at least $100,000 to Mohammed Atta prior to 9/11, has never been charged for his alleged role in the terrorist attacks but has become infamous for his role in the Pearl case...

Pakistan, the CIA, and the 9/11 Paymaster

New article available at From The Wilderness regarding the alleged 9/11 'paymaster', Omar Sheikh, and his affiliations to Pakistani and Western intelligence agencies. FTW has made this article available to all nonsubscribers at my request. Short excerpt:

"...This suggests Pakistan is not only guilty of complicity in the 9/11 attacks, but is directly responsible for financing and coordinating the operation, which may explain why Musharraf chose to omit such pertinent information from his new book.

Moreover, there are several members of Musharraf’s own government, according to The Pittsburgh Tribune, who believe Omar Sheikh’s true power “comes not from the ISI, but from his connections with our own CIA.”21

Given Omar’s reported history, this certainly seems like a plausible explanation; and if true, it would establish a significant degree of U.S. government culpability for the 9/11 attacks. ..."

U.S. May Charge Alleged 9/11 Leader With The Death Of Daniel Pearl

U.S. military officials intend to charge Guantanamo Bay captive Khalid Sheikh Mohammed with the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, according to a Time magazine report.

U.S. officials have identified Mohammed as the al Qaida mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and President Bush has said he's a likely candidate for a war-crimes trial.

But the Pentagon's chief war-crimes prosecutor told The Miami Herald on Friday that the Time report may be premature; prosecutors are still studying the case files of Mohammed and 13 other so-called high-value detainees who were turned over to the military by the CIA.

Captured in Pakistan in March 2003, Mohammed had been held in secret CIA detention until his Labor Day transfer to the Guantanamo detention center at the U.S. Navy base in southeast Cuba.
