Skeptic Magazine has come out with a half-assed response to the 9/11 Truth Movement. They cite Popular Mechanics' theories about the attacks, and not much else in their 9/11 Conspiracy Theories, the 9/11 Truth Movement in Perspective.

Someone should have told them that Professor David Ray Griffin has demolished the Popular Mechanics diatribe in his Debunking 9/11 Debunking: An Answer to Popular Mechanics and Other Defenders of the Official Conspiracy Theory.

Let's forego all of that -- pretend it never happened -- and get to the accusations of the article.

I just wanted to make visitors of this site aware that a bunch of well known "debunkers" submitted to the Department of Civil and Envriomental Engineering at Northwestern University a paper on the mechanism of collapse of the WTC Towers for peer review and publication by the Journal of Engineering Mechanics.

Weak Propaganda on American Spectator

In this American Spectator article: The Loony Left's 9/11, a quite lightweight attempt is made to equate distrust of the official 9/11 story with "leftists," and then to dismiss it all as "nuts."

The author, Peter Hannaford, who we learn is "a member of the board of the Committee on the Present Danger," has no intention of investigating any of Dr. Griffin's claims for their veracity. This is simply a rehash of the same smear that has gone around since 2002, and really since Bush's speech to the UN in November 2001 where we are ordered to "never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the eleventh."

The mailman just knocked at my door, and was nice enough to deliver my copy of Dr. Griffin's latest book. I hope everyone purchases a copy, and promotes it as well.

Paul Chen sheds the image of conspiracy theory, and aims this beautiful piece right at the would-be debunkers that are easily debunked themselves.

David Ray Griffin is widely recognized as one of the leading spokespersons of the 9/11 truth movement. This is by virtue of his previous four books on the subject. Professor Griffin and a growing list of scholars, other researchers as well as diverse experts and activists, reject the official Islamist mastermind conspiracy theory about 9/11 advanced by Establishment interests.

Although the 9/11 truth movement was long ignored by the U.S. government and the mainstream media, recent polls have shown that (as Time magazine has acknowledged) the rejection of the official theory has become "a mainstream political phenomenon."

A new day, a new dawn ...free of agendas

It's a new day for this Brainster. For those of you who haven't heard already, James and I have decided to go separate ways. I wish him luck. We had a great run with Screw Loose Change, made a lot of waves, shook up the Internet, but, due a difference of opinion about approach, this is for the best.

I know this blog appears to be attacking my roots. Well, I guess it is, but not the mission of exposing the propaganda, but the MEANS we used. It seemed reasonable at first, all's fair in love and war, as they say. But then we lost our way, drifting from exposing "Loose Change" and it's distortions, that now even the creator's admit, to attacking any 911 truther for any reason whatsoever.

pointing out 911 truth. This hypocritical stance aggravated, me,
so I re-registered and posted the following. If anyone finds value
in it, please feel free to post it to Christian or any forums,

gotten banned again in 30 secondsinstead of a minute and a half) :)

Those 911 Truth wackos have really got me steamed.

Just when I think I can dismiss them, they come up with more
evidence that something is wrong with the U.S. Government's
version of events on that day, too numerous to mention here.
However, as an example, they keep asking annoying things like :

"Why did WTC 7 collapse
at free-fall speed (in under 7 seconds) when it wasn't hit by a plane?
Why do demolition and fire experts say it looked like a controlled
demolition?"

"Why didn't jets intercept the airliners since they
had numerous warnings of terrorist attacks?"

And 100's of other aggravating questions like those.

Yesterday the Daily Mail a mainstream UK newspaper had a 4 page article on Loose Change. Unlike The Guardian, another mainstream newspaper which completely ridiculed the film earlier this week the Daily Mail gave the film a fair review. The well known writer Sue Reid even admitted that there are a lot of facts that are undisputable. Unfortunately today their internet comments page has published mainly biased debunking remarks submitted from their readers. I and a few friends in the UK have sent in our remarks which were perfectly polite remarks stating our thoughts, however these favourable Loose Change comments have not been shown.
If some US citizens could send their comments maybe one or two just might get through. This is important as the majority of the UK is entirely unaware of the 911 movement and its aims and will tend to believe what they read in these mainstream sites and papers. Anyone who has done serious research into 9/11 will come to the inescapable conclusion that rogue elements of the government orchestrated the attacks as a false flag operation to arouse patriotism so the nation would support a war of global domination.

However, there is a very strong contingent of Americans who react emotionally, rather than rationally, to any argument suggesting government complicity on any level, let alone outright orchestration. These are the ones, who for decades, have believed America is the best thing for humanity since sliced bread. They believe our government would never murder its own people (even though they have NO trouble believing OTHER govts would kill THEIR own people), and anyone who thinks as such must be paranoid and even anti-American. Indeed, most of the positive Amazon reviews seem to be of this mentality. Such Americans, comfortable in their established paradigm of reality, will find comfort with this book.

This video has some priceless moments. There were a coincidentally large number of activist at Ground Zero that day, and we took full advantage of our unified presence. Our resident debunker was also present, doing his best to represent the 'official conspiracy theory'. We even got the message on live TV, and captured the angry response of the news correspondent. The day was challenging and inspiring.

They Can’t Discredit 9/11 Truth

Many would like to portray the 9/11 Truth Movement as a couple of paranoid internet researchers creating theories about alien plasma beams, remote controlled hologram jet planes, and alienoid reptilian crossbreds controlling the US Government!

Placing 9/11 Truth in this sort of mental category creates a warm ‘comfort blanket’ for those who do not have the time, the patriotic fervor, or the dedication to investigate 9/11 themselves.

It is much easier to associate 9/11 Truth with outrageous nutty quacks because it gives people a reason not to act on their suspicions about 9/11.

For example:

9/11 Truthers believe that holograms were actually what crashed into the World Trade Center…and I think that is crazy….

I’m not crazy so I must fit in with the more ‘rational’ and ‘socially acceptable’ group of thinkers who know that 9/11 has been explained fully by the United States Government. After all, the Islamics hate freedom and are hell bent on destroying our liberties right?

If one was to go just a little further below the surface of the 9/11 Truth Movement, they would find that 9/11 Truthers don’t believe in many of these detracting fringe issues that are used to discredit the majority of research that encompasses the 9/11 Truth Movement. The 9/11 Truth Movement has been distancing itself from this sort of quackery for years.

This self-defense mechanism might have worked at first…when the psychological scabs created by the events of September 11, 2001 were still fresh. But time has replaced fresh scabs with scars.

More and more people are realizing that it is not the Muslims that seem to be threatening our freedoms. More and more people realize that the entire 9/11 scenario presented to the world is an elaborate hoax designed to justify a new era of war that will last for decades to come as George W. Bush has stated.

The warm comfort blanket of denial is no longer effective. 9/11 Fever is seeping into every nook, crack, and cranny of western life. The discomfort caused by not acting is becoming more unbearable then the discomfort caused by denial of ones own suspicions regarding 9/11. People are realizing that they must look at 9/11Truth for themselves. When such a debunked and contested issue like 9/11/2001 is used to justify a war that has killed 100,000s of thousands of civilians in iraq…trusting the government is no longer an option.

Yes, finally. After being assaulted with the Maddox 9-11 page over and over again, and having no quick response, I am glad someone went and made an excellent article debunking his page.

It is partly satire (featuring redone cartoons) but also a serious debunking - like giving links to NIST and pop-mech debunk sites - as well as posting 3 full-length Alex Jones movies.

It answers all his accusations and statements.
