Over the years, during Supreme Court vettings, I have often heard pundits wax effusive about how this or that candidate was so brilliant and nuanced in their thinking. I don't believe crap like that any more. Those guys put their pants on one leg at a time just like you or I and let all that Solomonic Wisdom crap be damned. Don't let the Delphic Temple fool you, these people are not Oracles, they are mouth pieces. Sunstein is being considered for the Supreme Court.

During a rare public appearance, the Obama Administration’s Information Czar Cass Sunstein told a crowd gathered at the NYU Law School in NYC yesterday that he has little recollection of writing a 2008 paper that called for a ban on conspiracy theorizing.

In the question and answer portion of the lecture, We Are Change founder Luke Rudkowski confronted Sunstein concerning his avocation of a “provocateur” style program to silence what have become the government’s most vociferous and influential critics.

With tongue firmly in cheek, Rudkowski introduced himself as “Bill de Berg from Brooklyn college,” before directly asking Sunstein to explain his comments

I did very much enjoy the pseudonym," Bill DeBerg" because it is so clever, but, in general, giving other than one's own name could be seen to imply one is fearful of repercussions. Showing fearfulness should generally be discouraged.Because Luke is so fearless, it would be easy for him to be little concerned with such a problem. However, others could easily mimic such behavior in a less than fearless way.

It was overdone for Luke to follow him after he walked away. The content is where the focus is best.
Calling him "sir" when saying goodbye I particularly liked. Would have been even better to raise these very tough questions while calling him "Professor Sunstein" rather than "Cass"
This would be an appeal to those who are not yet on our side. In genera,l public action is best directed at neutrals rather than only appealing to supporters.
Addressing Sunstein's apparent distancing of himself without actually disavowing the statements was crucial. Without such disavowal, his distancing appears insincere. If he would disavow these statements, he could be told that the next time he came to New York we could have a banner praising him.
I see he has published the book,Why Societies Need Dissent, (Harvard University Press 2003). Would be nice to be able to raise contradictions between that and his threats to free speech.
Because he has been referred to by the Harvard Law dean and current Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan as “the preeminent legal scholar of our time.”, it would seem his lack of memory is insincere.
It is important for everyone to face the questions involved because he really could become a supreme court justice. I urge everyone to get google and or yahoo to give them notice if and when Sunstein speaks in public so further public challenges can be raised.
His bio suggests he still teaches as a visiting professor at his old stomping ground , The U of Chicago. Can anyone determine if this is true and the time and location for the fall? Would probably be considered a civil disobedience to raise such issues on that campus.
