WTC steel donated for use in sculptures

WTC steel for Maryland memorial sculpture

In the past few months the Port Authority has begun distributing pieces of the WTC steel to various states and cities for 9/11 memorials. Till now, most pieces have been small, usually less than 5 feet, and put into glass cases.

But anyone who wanted to see some of the more massive steel beams up close, which were housed in the JFK airport hanger, the ones out of the view and scrutiny of the public (remember, the ones "exposed" by Jesse Ventura on Conspiracy Theory), will soon have their chance.

The Port Authority has donated 5 huge pieces of "mangled" steel to be used in an upcoming sculpture for a 9/11 memorial in Saratoga, NY. One of the members of the arts council "noted the dramatic nature of the steel, saying “…you see where the nose of the plane impacted.” "  "The sculpture will consist of five giant shards of "impact steel" from the floors of the towers where the hijacked airplanes struck."

Furthermore, the State of Maryland will also be commissioning their own 9/11 memorial in the coming year using some of the larger WTC steel beams. " A steel artifact, consisting of three amalgamated steel beams, and a smaller steel artifact, were selected by a Maryland delegation when they visited the JFK Airport, which warehouses artifacts from the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers."

Lots of steel

A lot of steel went over to Paris for an exhibit a few years ago, if I remember correctly, It came from the New York State Museum in Albany. There is some steel exhibited at the museum.

It would have seemed an easy task to have assigned some knowedgeable people to write up a report regarding the forensics revealed by the steel, including evidence of explosives or incendiaries. This is not exactly the viewpoint of your general physicist, who can tell us a lot, but not nearly as much as someone trained in criminal forensics who does this kind of work for a living. Wonder if we could not raise fifty thousand or so dollars to get that kind of investigation and report. This is not to demean the work of those who have already made important contributions in this area.

“...you see where the nose of the plane impacted.” " "The sculpture will consist of five giant shards of "impact steel" from the floors of the towers where the hijacked airplanes struck."

- Anyone know how they can tell what floor the steel came from? My understanding was that the steel all broke apart and tumbled into an incoherent pile of rubble.

Why can't we get a judge to issue an injunction to stop the steel from being moved or altered pending examination to see if a crime has been committed?
