The fire broke out in a building near the intersection of Yuyao Road and Jiaozhou Road around 2pm today.

One of the three residential buildings is engulfed with black smoke rising high into the sky.

The apartment building has about 20 shops on the ground level and many residents were spotted inside the high-rise.
