Hansen: Official 9/11 story is hooey, critic says
David Ray Griffin comes to Drake University on April 23 to tell us why the official explanation for the 9/11 attack on the United States doesn't hold water.
A theologian, philosopher of religion and professor emeritus at California's Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University, Griffin has been at it for about seven years now and says he won't stop until the government conducts a new, impartial, independent investigation.
As opposed to the 9/11 Commission probe. He calls that exercise a charade.
Griffin has written eight books on the subject with another on the way: "Cognitive Infiltration: An Obama Appointee's Plan to Undermine the 9/11 Conspiracy Theory."
The appointee, a former Harvard professor named Cass Sunstein who now heads the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, co-wrote an academic paper saying government should undermine conspiracy theory groups by infiltrating their chat rooms, social networks and group meetings.
Griffin believes "cognitive infiltration" is the wrong term. "It's more like fascism," he says.
He also believes the real conspiracy theorists are people who believe the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks were hatched by Osama bin Laden and carried out by al-Qaida. In Griffin's mind, it's also an excuse for every extreme military action we've taken since.
He can produce a long list of scientists and other scholars who endorse his views. Detractors like Matt Taibbi, author of "The Great Derangement," say he's "an idiot."

Sounds like a book I will get into.
I really love Griffins books but this one is going to be the one I am most interested in. Disinformation and infiltration of the truth movement and other movements is an area I have studied a great deal. I am looking forward to reading Davids thoughts and research on the subject.
I have only read his very first one...
and that was so complete I did not feel the need to read more.
But like you Adam, I find this is a fascinating subject and one which before I found out the truth about 9/11. I had little practical knowledge of.
After following the "Truth" movement since 04, I can now say that I have seen provocataurs, disinfo plants and shills in real action.
Totally revealing subject. It tells me more about the system we live under than I ever wished to know. There is a lot more to this than meets the eye. This is the second Griffin book I will surely read!

Seems that the good doctor is getting around, albeit slowly, to touching upon a larger problem than 9/11 although they are inter-related. That is, the deliberate and purposeful "dumbing down," of America.

Read any of his books but I had the pleasure of hearing him speak a few years back in Oakland. He tore the so-called "Official Story" to shreads. It was a joy to watch him in action. After listening to one of his talks, a person who still believes the "Official Story" needs a brain transplant.

David Griffin's dogged pursuit of the truth never ceases to inspire. How many people has this man been responsible for awakening? If not for his work, I would almost certainly have remained in the state of apathy and ignorance that previously defined my existence. Centuries from now he will be recognized as one of mankind's most important figures.
What puzzles me about all this ...
What puzzles me about all this is:
1: Sunstein's academic paper came to public light. [How? Why?]
2: The paper is proposing something government "should" do. [As if government agents weren't in the field spreading disinformation through various media from the first moment, even before w/ back stories. We were hearing both the Osama bin Laden and "state sponsored terrorism" (read specifically Iraq) memes within the first hours but had been primed to anticipate (accept as probable) a terrorist event on US soil for years prior. With the second plane impact it was obvious to everyone that what was unfolding was no 'accident' and thus began the need to answer the question: OMG! What is happening!!? Who is responsible??? with a readily acceptable ready-made answer.]
So... what is the real deal here? Is Sunstein just an idiot, unaware that the art of information/disinformation and perception control are fundamental attributes of not only intelligence/counter-intelligence but governance itself? Unaware (for example) of Zelikow's academic expertise? : "Zelikow's area of academic expertise is the history and practice of public policy. . . . Zelikow noted in his own words, that "contemporary" history is "defined functionally by those critical people and events that go into forming the public's presumptions about its immediate past. The idea of 'public presumption'," he explained, "is akin to William McNeill's notion of 'public myth' but without the negative implication sometimes invoked by the word 'myth.' Such presumptions are beliefs (1) thought to be true (although not necessarily known to be true with certainty), and (2) shared in common within the relevant political community."[10]"" ["public presumptions" = "public perceptions".] I find it highly unlikely that the then soon to be head of the "Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs," would be unaware of these fundamental principles.
As those of us who are 9/11 conscious now know, deception is not the exception but the rule. It is how we are ruled (governed). Whoever controls (governs) your perception of reality controls you. The only question is the best strategic application -- which is always 'invisible' to those who have not eyes to see. Keeping people entrained to an established narrative keeps the sheep policing themselves with little need for further intervention.
This could be a good book. I hope it is. We need to understand the strategic applications of disinformation far better than we do. But I think it is clear that what Sunstein proposed was already being implemented long before he proposed it. So, was this little 'slip up' to indicate that what was happening had not been happening? They expect us to believe that? Or what?

So the question is...what is the purpose of just now exposing their modus operendi which has been fully function even as 9/11 occurred. They already were engineering and molding public opinion...
Why are they openly talking about how they are going to use "cognitive infiltration" etc etc to "combat" 9/11 truth movement now so late after the fact?
Could it be we have some friends in high places who wishes to implicate Obama in all this (and rightfully so) .....as well as the entire Bush administration?

I suspect we do but if so they aren't highly placed enough. Where do the orders for the execution of something like a 9/11 originate? I doubt that they come from one individual. A lot of palms have to be greased or otherwise 'taken care of' down the line, the chain of command. Everyone who is 'aware' of what is going on (even if only of their segregated 'piece of the puzzle') has to 'benefit' or otherwise fear the consequences of stepping out of line or breaking that chain of command. An operation of this magnitude reveals a very sophisticated organizational and operational mechanism of compliance and control. Peter Dale Scott and others refer to it as "the Deep State". But what do we really know about it? Well, for one thing, we know it is capable of committing mass murder publicly in broad daylight and getting away with it with little more than a media driven 'slight of hand' to conceal what is otherwise blatantly obvious. 110 story buildings were no more capable of "collapsing" in 10 seconds on 9/11 than they are today and anyone could have pointed this out at the time -- and a few of us did -- but to little avail. Why? This tells us that there is not only a very sophisticated 'chain of command', there is also a very sophisticated understanding of the human psyche on the mass scale. Shock them. Horrify them. Get hundreds of millions of people to have an 'OMG! WTF!!' moment and them supply them with the requisite ready-made answer. The emotions are still upset but the 'WTF' of the mind is satisfied with the answer, no matter how absurd it is. Most 9/11 Truthers can testify that this is precisely what happened to them. They trusted. They believed. They were fooled.
9/11 was first and foremost a mass psychological operation. The targets were not buildings but minds. And they succeeded. Emboldened, why shouldn't they now go for the jugular?
One caution: Executive branch "Administrations" are not where the buck either starts or stops in matters like 9/11. Not saying they aren't worthy of our attention but what is more worthy is in the media periphery. One thing you can count on, if the corporate media is reporting it, it is something someone wants us to know. What we NEED to know is what they don't want us to know. Right?
Controlling perceptions of reality is in large measure the slight of hand technique of directing attention. First, become aware that your attention is being directed. Second, where ever it is being directed, look in a different direction. It isn't as easy; we've been entrained from our earliest development to 'pay attention' to whatever the 'authority figure' above us tells us to, 'or else.' Break that habit and one becomes something closer to a free man.

Have you considered that Sustein's paper was a means of applying for a job? Look at the job he got. And his name has been mentioned for the Supreme Court.
What do the Power elite seem to love above all else ... a "Liberal" who will do their bidding. Best of both Worlds as far as they are concerned. The Republicans and "Conservatives" cry "Foul!," which rallies the Democrats and "Liberals" to one of their own, and everyone in the Media plays up the Epic battle ... a gladiator sport to distract the masses, while the Powers that Be laugh their Asses off.

Sunstein is nothing less than a Propaganda Minister. His title under is just a different name for the exact same thing. The tactic spoken of.
However, I read much of the paper of Sunstein's points, not all of it though. However there is a serious concern about certain groups that could use some oversight. neo-Nazis and the like. I disapprove with the the government's attempts to propagandize. Oversight upon us, we have nothing to hide, and the only major problems with that is, who plays honest. We know many can't even be honest with themselves, others are glad participants in an operation with big cash returns, morality be damned. Lying for a living, many are doing it. Our tax dollars are paying them. Astonishing anti-logic, this age we live in. Our grand war on terror turns out to be all one interactive faction playing it, defense industry big boys, that keep the tyrants and crazies well armed, and tell the "news" people what ever it is that gets the fireworks going, and cash in their pockets. blood and bullets, it's just a big cash cow for them. Duplicity is the understatement of the year, regarding those like the Bush family and friends fattening up their bank accounts and lie and it's absolutely mind blowing the level of cravenness, don't you think?. The astonishment, being, what Condi Rice said, "failure of our imagination". We know that story, with the warnings, etc. but, that phrase, that failure of imagination is how the perps are actually getting away with it thus far. The failure of imagining such criminality can exist in our government, the oval office, and Pentagon, those we expect to protect us.
