Clinton: War On Terror "Not in our Vocabulary"

Obama administration dropping phrase used as rallying cry by Bush

THE HAGUE, Netherlands - The phrase "global war on terror" is finished, at least as far as U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is concerned.

The top U.S. diplomat told reporters Tuesday that the Obama administration has quit using that line to describe the effort to fight terrorism around the world.

"The administration has stopped using the phrase and I think that speaks for itself," Clinton said.

Clinton spoke as she headed to Europe for a week of diplomatic meetings. The phrase "war on terror" is widely disliked in Europe and elsewhere overseas, where even close U.S. allies suggested it was overly militaristic and perhaps counterproductive.

It is also now associated with a range of Bush administration policies such as harsh interrogation practices that President Barack Obama has pledged to abandon.

Clinton was asked about the phrase as she headed to Europe for a week of diplomatic meetings.

Pundits have noted the absence of the "war on terror" language, but top administration figures have had little to say on the subject before now.

"I haven't heard it used. I haven't gotten any directive about using it or not using it, it's just not being used," Clinton said.

Then-President George W. Bush used the phrase as a rallying cry after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

It's pathetic.

It really is. It doesn't matter what they "call it", does it?

As CIA drones kill Afghan civilians, does it matter if it's called "assassination", "murder", "destabilization" or whatever?

It DOES matter

Obviously, it DOES matter to the Obama administration, and this MSNBC article reveals why -- because the world wasn't buying it, especially Europe. While it changes nothing regarding policy, it is a good indicator that the voice of the people can and does have an effect. So let's count this as a minor victory and work to make the policy fit the rhetoric and shove it right back in their face. CRANK IT UP!

BTW, speaking of Europe, last I checked 9/11 truth is far more widely accepted there than here. Are we to expect a similar pseudo shift in terminology regarding 9/11 in the near future, as well? Stay tuned..........

“On the altar of God, I swear eternal hostility against all forms of tyranny over the mind of man."--Thomas Jefferson

They're changing the terminology

How about changing the policy?

"On Friday, in a symbolic break with the past, the Obama administration announced it would drop the term "enemy combatant" - only to argue in the same breath that the administration has the legal authority to hold detainees indefinitely, without charge.

We're beginning to fear the worst: that the Obama administration will hold onto the failed counter-terrorism policies of the Bush administration. Such a move would solidify and make indefinite detention and other Bush policies the new norm in America.

Our most powerful antidote to these cancerous counter-terrorism policies is a full investigation that includes holding those responsible accountable"

Fed Powers Used For Domination Of Resources & Information

The current U.S. wars are in resource rich regions that would fall under the control of other powers if the military left.

These wars will be called anything but what they actually are - resource wars.

The Feds via appointed executive agency heads at DoD, DoS, DoJ and others are controlled agents and proffessional liars who conceal quests for power and control over resources and information within manufactured tales of service to the public and the greater good.

The federal government is a powerful tool under private control.

Boy do you have that right.

This is the sickness of our two party system

Politicians in the Obama administration would have us believe that changing the progaganda is all that is required to regain public trust in government.

The initial sharing failure in relation to al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar took place on Clinton's watch. That was when FBI agents at Alec Station were ordered to withhold information from the FBI. Have you ever heard Bill or Hillary Clinton explain this odd behavior? This couldn't be a more blatant contradiction in the establishment story. After all, we are told the outgoing Clinton administration made sure to brief Bush officials on the severity of the threat posed by al Qaeda.

So one must ask, why did two Presidential administrations protect al Qaeda operatives from arrest? Why is the third Presidential administration continuing the lockdown on classified information pertaining to al Qaeda terrorism and 9/11?

The Feds Do Not Operate In The Public Interest

The federal government and its resources are used by the private interests (corporate, financial) who have controlled it for decades.

The federal government is a tool used for the acquisition and control of information, technology and resources for these private interests.

If one examines the activities of the federal government, they will identify two mutually exclusive agendas:

- a true dedication to the acquisition and control of information, technology and resources.

- a false dedication to the public interest and greater good.

The federal government is directed mostly by appointed agency leaders.

Resource wars that kill 1 million+ people are not in the public interest.

Government sanctioning of financial organizations who profit from the public's need for essential services is not in the public interest.
