Moore aims for followup on `Fahrenheit 9/11'

CANNES, France (AP) — Michael Moore is taking America's temperature again.

Moore, who won the top honor at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival with "Fahrenheit 9/11," plans a followup to resume his examination of the nation's status in the world in the years since the Sept. 11 attacks.

"Fahrenheit 9/11," the only documentary to top $100 million domestically at the box office, was a harsh, hilarious critique of George W. Bush and his administration in the wake of the attacks. The as-yet-untitled followup will have a longer-term approach, film executives overseeing the project said Wednesday.

"That movie was about a moment in time, a specific moment," said Nick Meyer, president of Paramount Vantage, which is co-financing the movie with Overture Films. "We don't view this movie as bashing anyone. I think it's going to take a look at where America is right now in relation to the world. It's not going to be about the issue of the war. It's about where we are and what our role is."

Danny Rosett, chief operating officer at Overture, said the movie will be scheduled for release domestically in spring 2009, soon after the changing of the guard when Bush leaves office.

Overture will release the film in North America, while Paramount Vantage is handling overseas distribution. Paramount Vantage is shopping the film around to international buyers at Cannes, which began its 12-day run Wednesday.

Mike?

If you say the words, millions will believe. With such great power comes responsibility.

Wrong letter

Hee hee hee.

Republicans want Michael Moore over on their side.

No wonder the "movement" has problems.

That's just crazy talk.

We don't want these bushies over here on our side.

These bushies who would reelect the guy responsible for Abu Ghraib.

There's no hope within this evil evil Tyrannical Party who would stage a Pearl Harbor in order to do all the shit they did.

Grab a towel, and use it to dry behind the ears.

And of course we now know

That Ron Paul does NOT "transcend left and right". (people are SO naive)

Be that as it may, Michael Moore is taking his own sweet time to find 9/11 Truth, like (too) many others, but he will get there one day, and maybe his next documentary will lead him there.

I believe it was Moore himself (and other documentarians have made similar comments) who said that he started out making a documentary about one thing and it ended up as a documentary about something else after he got into it. (I forget which one he was talking about, but it might have been Fahrenheit 9/11)

I hope that happens with his next one and he steps up to the bat and does the right thing. Maybe he will feel safer doing that (perhaps subconsciously) if there is a Democrat in the White House.

We all had to go through the process, and you can see Mike starting to do it here in this video.

If you want to "Truth Action" someone, do a BIG protest in front of Moore's home, and office, and at every event he attends.

Passion and dedication can go a long way in opening people's eyes.
