When The Media Attacks...
This is nothing new to those of us that have been doing this a while, but I wanted to point it out nevertheless. It's happened to Charlie Sheen, Rosie O'Donnell, and Willie Nelson. When someone that has celebrity status questions the official account, the media attacks them. Charlie, Rosie, and Willie haven't issued statements of "regret" through their lawyers though. Why is it blasphemy to question the official account? Doesn't this just seem wrong to you? It certainly does to me.

Oscar-winning Marion Cotillard was facing embarrasment with her new American public last night after it emerged that she doubted the official account of the September 11 attacks.
The 32-year-old French star has swept this year’s best actress awards, also receiving a Bafta, Golden Globe and a César for her performance as singer Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose.
Miss Cotillard, who earned under £1 million in 2007, could expect her Oscar success to significantly increase her earning power. She is due to start filming Public Enemies with Johnny Depp.
But the actress faces a potential backlash in the US over comments she made in an interview in France. Footage which surfaced on the internet showed her questioning the New York terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the 1969 moon landing.
"I think we’re lied to about a number of things," she said, singling out September 11.
Referring to the two passenger jets flown into the World Trade Centre, Miss Cotillard said: "We see other towers of the same kind being hit by planes, are they burned? There was a tower, I believe it was in Spain, which burned for 24 hours.
It never collapsed. None of these towers collapsed. And there [New York], in a few minutes, the whole thing collapsed."
Miss Cotillard suggested that the towers, planned in the early 1960s, were an outdated "money sucker" which would have cost so much to modernise that it was easier to destroy them.
Turning to America’s space programme, she said: "Did a man really walk on the moon? I saw plenty of documentaries on it, and I really wondered. And in any case I don’t believe all they tell me, that’s for sure."
Miss Cotillard, who was born and brought up in Paris, made the comments on Paris Première – Paris Dernière (Paris First – Paris Last), a programme first broadcast a year ago.
They were largely ignored at the time, but appeared yesterday on a French website. Miss Cotillard’s film career began in Luc Besson’s 1998 film Taxi. She is an environmental activist, who once worked as a spokeswoman for Greenpeace.
News of Miss Cotillard’s comments comes at a time when Franco-American relations appear to be thawing, following Paris’s refusal to support the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
President Nicolas Sarkozy insists that he is pro-American, supporting so-called Anglo-Saxon economic reforms and going on holiday to America.

OSCAR-winning actress Marion Cotillard has been "taken out context" with her stunning comments about the September 11 attacks, it was claimed today.
The French star's lawyer steeped in after footage was aired of her admitting to doubts about the official version of the 2001 attacks in the US.
"I think we're lied to about a lot of things," she said during a television program first broadcast last year which has resurfaced on the internet.
The actress, who picked up the award for playing Edith Piaf in the French film La Vie En Rose, cited the attacks on New York and Washington in 2001 as one example, adding: "I tend to believe in the conspiracy theory."

Cotillard could not be reached today but her lawyer, Vincent Toledano, said she had "never intended to contest nor question the attacks of September 11, 2001, and regrets the way old remarks have been taken out of context."
In the video, the 32-year-old Parisian talks about watching films on the internet challenging the official version of the September 11 attacks, saying "its fascinating, even addictive".
She continues: "Did man really walk on the moon? Me, I've seen a fair few documentaries on the subject. That, really, I question. In any case I don't believe everything people tell me, that's for sure."

Let's face up to it...
In the moment she spoke, she was being a lightweight, a dilettante. She didn't advance a case but jumped around a lot of things (the moon landing? the many buildings hit by planes in the past?) without really thinking about it. She wasn't trying to make a difference in the debate, or conscious of the fact that she could, so she didn't prepare accordingly.
And yes, it's a witchhunt - all the media coverage focuses not on what she said but on how she's "damaged her career."
The big problem of course is the media who cover 9/11 skeptics only if they're tabloid-ready celebrities (or Muslim targets), and rarely give space to the people who are grounded in the material as scholars, activists or whistleblowers.
Celebrities who are going to do this should not only know what they're getting into and be ready for a fight, but prepare themselves and master the material they need to make a real impact when they speak. These one-off comments in passing only serve as fodder for trivialization and media delivery of "lessons."
I'm rooting for Johnny Depp to do it right. ;)

The thing...
I think is funny is how "news" outlets like FOX continue to try and brainwash people into the thinking the word "Conspiracy" means something other than what it does by releasing stories titled like this one, "Report: Oscar-Winner Marion Cotillard Thinks 9/11 Was a Conspiracy".
If you completely believe the official account from top to bottom, you think that 9/11 was a "conspiracy" devised by Osama, Khalid, and 19 hijackers.
I would love for Jack Sparrow to come out for 9/11... however, his career would probably be over. Because, as I said, it's BLASPHEMY to question anything having to do with the attacks. The myth of 9/11 is the new religion, or God. Don't question it because you'll go straight to hell.
Edit: It appears that Marion "will not apologise over remarks she made describing the 9/11 attacks".

AOL wiped Ms. Cotillard's page into the memory hole...?
I followed the link and was abhorred by the abusive language directed at Ms. Cotillard. Shocking really, when all she did was point out that the official story we were fed cannot be true.
Anyway, I tried unsuccessfully to post for about two hours while working on something else. The site kept replying that it was "unable to save" my "post at this time and to try later" while I used Firefox. Meanwhile I saw other hateful posts being added. I guess if you hate strongly enough, your voice will be heard.
Finally, the page (which had accrued 4615 comments in 12 hours) mysteriously disappeared when I tried to open it in a different browser, once I was logged in: "unable to find page". AOL's on-site search has no reference to it. Completely dumped down the memory hole? No comments were to be made by me, anyway. Anyone else have luck?

I agree with what Jon said, and also Nicholas. The media are out for blood, and she was too loose with her words. That allowed them to distort her intent, particularly with the heading of the Telegraph piece, which implied that she was saying nothing at all happened on 9/11. It was obvious to me that she was saying the powers that be helped the buildings to come down, but if you look at some of the responses in the Telegraph, people thought she was saying the whole event was just a bad dream.
FOX & FRIENDS HAD A FIELD DAY
The Fox & Friends (AKA the 3 stooges) snickered and snorted ad infinitum over this story this morning.
They started by putting down actors, saying that all actors only wanted fame and money and that was all they were interested in.
Then they had an eye-rolling guffaw over the fact that she had received her information over the internet.
We are truly living in an upside-down world when bozos like these command the airwaves and are able to demonize the only source of real news left to the citizens of this country.
I applaud Ms. Cotillard for her honesty and it seems she has gotten her first lesson in the glare of the media spotlight. I certainly don't fault her for her lack of facts and trouble with a second language. We need as many bodies behind us as we can get, and it won't be long before another well-known truther comes out of the closet to speak eloquently and knowledgeably about our cause.
I do wish she hadn't lumped the moon landing in with 9/11 truth, however.

Media As Co-Conspirator
Unless you believe one person was responsible for 9/11, then you believe in a conspiracy. It was a criminal conspiracy no matter what, but one that could not have succeeded without media collusion. In a sense, this is more disturbing (at least as disturbing) as 9/11 itself! Most people can't wrap their heads around the notion that our media is so controlled that they are literally Weapons of Mass Deception, still believing that the Nightly News would have told them if the official story was a fraud. It is therefore a necessity to expose the media in tandem with exposing 9/11.
Millions of Americans are well aware of the threat to democracy posed by corporate media. Five corporations now control the vast majority of broadcast and print media assets in this country, and corporations are run by CEO's at the top. This means that five men now have enormous power to determine what information (or disinformation) the American people are exposed to. Combine that with Project Mockingbird (CIA control of MSM for the purpose of spreading propoganda and disinformation) and you have a recipe for brainwashing. What gets lost in this? It's a little concept called THE TRUTH. With this set-up even an audacious conspiracy like 9/11 can be "managed" and spun to make those who ask rational questions seem paranoid and unpatriotic. It is therefore vital that we expose the corporate media monopolies and the CIA-owned talking heads spreading us lies and disinfo, as we bring out truthful information to others. It is an essential step.
