There was a fundraiser in NYC last night for Democracy Now http://www.democracynow.org/get_involved/donate/willie that Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Danny Glover and others were to be attending. I'm on the wrong coast, but I wish I had been a fly on the wall to see if Willie and Jackson had any face-time together. A little bird told me that Jackson is on the fence about 9/11, as well as Bonnie Raitt, Graham Nash, possibly Sting and Bob Dylan. (Bono, he's busy licking the fuehrer's boots.) Have we got a line-up for a Concert for Truth yet? Michelle Phillips, Paris, Eminem, Moss Def, Immortal Technique, Remo Conscious, all on stage for an encore of John Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth", with cool video of 9/11 Truth marches www.TruthAction.org on screen? Maybe we can summon the spirit of Aaron Russo, who managed Bette Midler, to produce the spectacular.

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

JUAN GONZALEZ: The FCC is watching, yes. I’d like to ask you about one of your views or perspectives that’s raised a lot of controversy, obviously, your sense of—or your reaction to what happened on 9/11 and your questions that you have about the events of that terrible day.

WILLIE NELSON: Well, I have a lot of questions. I think a lot of people have a lot of questions. I think 85 or 90 percent of the people in this country say, “What?” I mean, a plane hit this building, and it fell kind of like that. And another plane hit that building, and it fell kind of like that. About the same time it fell, this one fell the same way. It looked like an implosion somewhere, you know? And then, all of a sudden, the third building fell, and no plane hit it. So, naturally, I’ve got questions.

AMY GOODMAN: If you met President Bush, what would you ask him?

WILLIE NELSON: How are things in Crawford? That’s about it.

I think he handled it fairly well -- he isn't overstating his case, his own understanding, and he makes sense. I notice that the title of the DNow post lists 9/11 as part of the topic, so they are *promoting* his position as relevant to readers. It's not like they scoffed or ignored it or ridiculed it. So something is changing.

I don't think it helps a lot to bash Democracy Now for their past coverage. Yes it's been bad, but 99% of everything they do is good -- they are at the frontlines of exposing the fascist agenda and they do it well. Could they have done that if they openly claimed "inside job"? That's what everyone says to defend Ron Paul, and yet we hold Democracy Now to a different standard?

What I've noticed is that people who have experienced the trauma directly are more likely to back away from the idea that it was all staged for an effect, for insurance, for war. Not all, but many. And it's common sense. The idea that it was staged makes their own experience more humiliating, more painful, less easy to cope with or even understand. People in pain cannot easily open up to "questions." They want the pain and fear to go away and their old life to come back. Expecting people who were running away from the cloud on that day to be something they may not be capable of, isn't entirely fair.

Bashing Amy mainly makes ourselves feel "good" but doesn't change the past or anything else except to turn people off to the 99% of GREAT stuff that program produces every day. Just look at it. It hosts Cynthia McKinney and likely will again and again as one of the only venues to do that with that size audience. And tons of other stuff. Here they are talking about medical marijuana. Etc.

If nothing else, add a qualifier if you feel you have to bash or attack them -- "the rest of the program is great, but."
