The San Francisco 2007 Boston Tea Party

On December 16th, 2007, the Boston Tea Party was alive and well in San Francisco. We handed out much literature to the public and read aloud, our Proclamation, to a captive audience at the Hyde Street Cable car turnaround before marching down to the pier to toss the rejected facsimile of the Official Commission Report into the Bay. A good time was had by all.

HEART OF THE CITY
HEAR YE A modern twist on the Boston Tea Party was created by John Wright of California 9/11 Truth Alliance. About 50 people, some dressed in 1773-era costumes, gathered and marched from Pier 39 to Municipal Pier on Sunday to toss a replica of the 9/11 report, because they believe its many "holes" are reason that the report should be thrown away.
Let me correct the record, I did not "create" this event, I was one of many in our group who organized the second annual S.F. Tea Party for Truth and our group is the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance.
We also had 30" x 40" replicas of the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, Executive Order of July 17, 2007, NSPD #51 and HR 1955 which we spoke out against and planned on throwing into the bay. However, National Park Police Sargent Hart overruled another officer and said that we could only take one replica onto the pier and throw it in to the bay, so our small replica of the ridiculous 9/11 Commission Report made its second trip into the bay (they wouldn't let us throw our 8' x 12' replica in, which a member of our group very much wanted to dispose of this time).
All in all, it was a good day and all the more memorable because Dylan Avery and Jason Bermas joined us after coming out for the two screenings of Loose Change Final Cut that we put on earlier in the week, which also went well. Response to the film is excellent.
Oh, and if Cynthia McKinney, Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich ask me to be vice president, I'll say yes.

This was an excellent event overall. There were probably 40-50 participants who handed out thousands of fliers to the tourists along the pier district. I was interviewed by someone from the Chronicle (who hadn't even heard of building 7), I was live on KPFA for about 5-10 minutes, there was one other major newspaper, and four smaller newspapers with reporters present. The cops were a bit annoying and obstructive, but not terrible. Huge thanks to John, Brian, Carol, Camile, and everyone else who helped make this happen!
