Ellsberg Confirms 9/11 Censorship

http://georgewashington.blogspot.com/2007/11/ellsberg-confirms-media-censorship-of.html

Former government official and famed whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg recently said that Sibel Edmonds' case is "far more explosive than the Pentagon Papers".

Ellsberg also confirmed the media's censorship about 9/11:

Ellsberg seemed hardly surprised that today's American mainstream broadcast media has so far failed to take Edmonds up on her offer, despite the blockbuster nature of her allegations.

* * *

"There will be phone calls going out to the media saying 'don't even think of touching it, you will be prosecuted for violating national security,'" he told us.

* * *

"I am confident that there is conversation inside the Government as to 'How do we deal with Sibel?'" contends Ellsberg. "The first line of defense is to ensure that she doesn't get into the media. I think any outlet that thought of using her materials would go to to the government and they would be told 'don't touch this . . . .'"

Let's recap:

  • High-level government personnel (the media would not take low-level people seriously) are calling the media threatening to prosecute for breach of national security anyone revealing that U.S. politicians and other insiders committed crimes in connection with 9/11
  • The failure of the media to cover the Edmonds' story is so normal and routine, that Ellsberg isn't even surprised by it

Edmonds herself sums it up pretty well when she says: "The only way they got away with it was because of the mainstream media."

The media can't pretend that they are trying to protect national security, as Edmonds confirms:

"I am not about to expose any methods of intelligence gathering. I am not going to expose any ongoing investigations, or even any investigations that may be ongoing," she told us, explaining that all relevant investigations about which she has information were long ago shut down by the government.

"I am not going to name any informant's name. I am not going to jeopardize any ongoing intelligence. Anything I'm going to be talking about, I know they are investigations that have been shut down by January and February of 2002."

And the media can't feign ignorance. Edmonds says "I know [the media] have it because people from the FBI have come in and given it [the information] to them. They've given them the documents and specific case-numbers on my case."

Sibel Edmonds: Key to another 9/11 truth rabbit hole?

Why are they so afraid of Sibel?

They've done such a bad job of covering up the truth about 9/11, and yet they are so afraid of Sibel Edmonds. Is it because she can name the names of those who made 9/11 happen? The 9/11 attacks were both made and allowed to occur--the terrorists were patsies. NORAD allowed the planes to hit the Targets. The FBI kept the patsies out of jail intentionally so that they could be blamed. That's not "incompetence", that's deliberate--made to happen. Whereas controlled demolition gives us solid proof of an inside job, it names no names. Sibel can name those names, and doing so would be extremely embarrassing. That's why they are using "national security" to cover their asses. Sibel Edmonds is a key to going down another rabbit hole into 9/11 truth.

Every single avenue of inquiry into the 9/11 attacks is valuable. Don't fall for the "limited hangout" BS. Why are they so scared of Sibel Edmonds? What are they hiding? For starters, she knows that the government had FULL KNOWLEDGE of the 9/11 attacks. Isn't information about WHO knew about the attacks worth knowing? Every piece of information by a whistleblower will help us answer these questions. We can evaluate the value of her testimony based upon corroborated sources.

Webster Tarpley includes Sibel Edmonds as part of his "full MIHOP" thesis:

"Sibel Edmonds… worked as a translator for the FBI’s Washington field office… Edmonds’ letter provides another rare glimpse at how moles operate inside intelligence agencies to sabotage law enforcement and make sure that patsies are not rounded up or effective warnings given until it is too late… Edmonds also revealed a specific pre-9/11 warning on patsy activities which was simply ignored by the FBI, and then ignored again by the 9/11 commission… Edmonds goes on to mock the clichés about connecting the dots and sharing intelligence which are the stock in trade of the controlled corporate media. She points out that the Phoenix memo, the Minneapolis alarms, and the Sarshar material all converged in the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington DC. The FBI had all that it needed to know that a large operation was afoot, which it could have disrupted by rolling up parts of the patsy network."

Good synopsis

This is a very good explanation of the synergy between investigating the science of the building collapses and the people/whistleblower side of the investigation. Both are necessary components and each would potentially fail on their own but together form a solid case.

Show me the money

Has she tried the CBC? What about Democracy Now? If, as claimed, her story is a rabbit hole through which we can unravel the mystery of 911 and thereby prevent WWIII it is grossly irresponsible to nitpick over whch news agency broadcasts the message. Hell, post it on youtube if you have to.

I agree with Danse. Shit or

I agree with Danse.
Shit or get off the pot.
I saw her on 60 minutes and her expertise seems to be the activities of Turkey.
Not really 9/11 related.
Most of us want to get this over with as soon as possible: so 'holding out' for the MSM - which is likely controlled and probably not going to respond - isn't going to win this woman many fans.

?

If I knew something that would identify the murderers of 3000+ people - (IE3000 as a start) - I wouldn't really worry about my job security, security clearance, or my prominence in the Main-Stream Media.
I might worry that I'd be considered a co-conspirator for concealing the truth.
She seems like a nice woman - but ...
I guess we'll see...

Agreed

Sure, this thing has to go to the internet if nothing else, but it has to be done in the right way to ensure credibility and believability. I would suggest that Ellsberg conduct the interview along with Dennis Kucinich. Kucinich just made an important appearance at the School of the America's protest in Fort Benning Georgia. He's expressed an interest in re-investigating the events of 9/11. Add Rabbi Michael Lerner and perhaps another religious spokesperson into the mix. Film it in a church or Synagogue. But do it and do it soon. For God's sake time is of the essence here.

I Repeat.

I repeat.
If I knew something that would identify the murderers of 3000+ people - (IE3000 as a start) - I wouldn't really worry about my job security, security clearance, or my prominence in the Main-Stream Media.
People have to step up or this 'movement' isn't going anywhere fast.

Where We Disagree...

...is in our calculations of aftereffects. You seem to believe that an explosive truth revealed will have aftershocks with or without media amplification. I on the other hand am not too sure about that. We have war criminals like Kissinger who are walking around in broad daylight in N America while on the wanted lists of foreign governments. The truth of him is known, but he is still free. The media is what keeps him free. The politicos don't care what is known. What makes them uncomfortable (in my opinion) is condemnation by the media. This is why the media has been famously called the Fourth Estate or the Fourth Branch of Government.

They aren't doing their jobs.

I disagree with Danse because...

...Sibel has her freedom to lose for giving out a Truth that not enough have even declared an interest in. Are the air traffic controllers who gave taped interviews which were subsequently destroyed going to come forward and back her up? Are the officials at NORAD going to come get her out of Guantanamo? Are the people at the CIA going to fess up and blow the whistle on the OSP of Cheney to corroborate her? What about anyone at the FBI? Sibel is surrounded by cowards and sellouts. Why should she violate court orders and go to jail for posting something on a "you" "tube" when we all know the m.s.m. will ignore that and nothing will come of it? That would be a waste. On the other hand, if she reveals to the m.s.m. then she might not even go to jail. The m.s.m. (or even alternative media) would assure that her message will actually reach the tens of millions she needs listening to her. Youtube however is not m.s.m. nor is it even really alternative underground media. Youtube is at a very adolescent stage and anything controversial cut and pasted there will be ridiculed as an asinine juvenile stunt. Then she'd still go to jail.

No Good.

WikiLeaks.org ??

I think this might be the time for www.WikiLeaks.org if no one picks up this story. She could leak the story and we could investigate the leads that she is aware of. I don't know if she's considered this anonymous leaking of her story, but I hope she is doing what is best for her and our country.

Contact the news and ask them why they aren't covering the Sibel Edmonds story.

PublicEditor@tribune.com (Chicago Tribune)
60m@cbsnews.com (might as well try)

WikiLeaks' 'primary interests'

'Our primary interests are in Asia, the former Soviet bloc, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, but we expect to be of assistance to peoples of all countries who wish to reveal unethical behavior in their governments and corporations.'

I can think of a certain North American country where the people could definitely use some assistance in revealing 'unethical behavior in their governments and corporations.'

Pretty soon

Or, one of these days..., the media will not be able to pretend this subject does not exist.
i'd say it's coming out, like it or not.
Sibel, best of luck. Surround yourself with lawyers, as if you were in Pakistan, fighting the system?

Bring it on, Sibil

We KNOW the mainstream media will ignore Sibil's story. If the mainstream media made any attempt at the truth, 9/11 would have NEVER HAPPENED. 9/11 happened because the perpetrators knew they could count on the mainstream media to cover it up.

I hope Sibil Edmonds will find a venue to tell her story. It won't happen in the mainstream press, EVER.

PS WE don't need a government investigation of 9/11. We know it was an inside job and have ample proof. We need to unite as a people and storm the Bastille, sans the guillotine.

A Conversation with Daniel Ellsberg and Sibel Edmonds

Whistleblowers From Vietnam to 9/11: A Conversation with Daniel Ellsberg and Sibel Edmonds

We speak with two whistleblowers from different eras about their experiences in speaking out: Sibel Edmonds, a former FBI translator hired to translate pre-9/11 intelligence, has said the U.S. had considerable evidence that al Qaida was planning to strike the U.S. with airplanes. The Bush administration is now trying to block her from testifying at a major 9/11 lawsuit. And Daniel Ellsberg, perhaps the most famous whistleblower in U.S. history who leaked the Pentagon Papers setting in motion actions that would eventually topple the Nixon presidency and end the Vietnam war. Media Censorship/Ownership. What we are up against.

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries." - David Rockefeller... I'm not saying this effort is impossible. Quit to the contrary. I'm thinking if we know the problems we face we are much more likely to succeed in our efforts.

I didnt rate this story a Ten because...

...Really, the former Government official is also a former insider. Therefore he is telling us from experience what is most likely happening in the corridors of our secretive Government. He isn''t telling us what he empirically knows happened with the media and Sibel. Really, we can safely assume that not only is he right but also that more might be transpiring than we know. That's my humble opinion.

Always a catch

TV 'journalists' don't get paid millions of dollars to tell the public the truth. There is always a catch. Specifically with 9/11 the catch was that they had to turn their backs on murdered citizens to protect the corrupt status quo.
