Texas has a history that is well-known to be rich with heroes, and Texans are equally well-known for their honoring of those heroes. In the spirit of that proud Texas tradition, Willie Rodriguez’s 9/11 story is something special.

Daily, William Rodriguez met with co-workers for breakfast at the Windows on the World Restaurant on the 106th floor of World Trade Center Tower #1. Nearly two hundred people, most of William's friends, were in the restaurant on the morning of September 11. None of them survived.

For nearly twenty years, the Puerto Rican-born, New Jersey resident was a custodian in-charge of the three stairwells A, B and C in the North Tower. In possession of the master key that opened all of the stairwell doors at each floor in the 110-story building. While others were running out, William Rodriguez courageously made multiple trips running back into the burning Towers. He personally saved the lives of 15 people that day and aided NYC firefighters in saving hundreds of others. Having told his riveting account to thousands of people across the globe, he travels to Austin to share his account of the heroic and selfless first-responders on that fateful day.

Honored five times at the White House, William Rodriguez has helped draft and implement legislation on behalf of 9/11 family members, in demanding the creation of the 9/11 Commission.

William Rodriguez is a dynamic, moving speaker who has electrified audiences of all ages in Europe, Asia, and South America, with his uncompromising candor and heroism. Thispromises to be a nightyou will never forget. Join fellow Texans in giving Willie a true Hero's welcome.

what's the deal with mr. rodriguez?

I was very confused to learn that he is not allowing people to film his presentations. I was planning on filming his lecture in Peoria, IL a few months back, and during my walk through the parking lot I found him leaving his SUV. He took notice of my tripod and said that filming wasn't allowed. When I asked him why, he replied that he has a deal with a Hollywood production company where his statements have the exclusive rights. I found that confusing, because it was my understanding that those in the 9/11 truth movement want their words to reach the widest possible audience, and not be constrained by any means at all. Does anyone have any info on this film deal? and any idea about why he has enacted this no-filming policy?

i took detailed notes at his lecture, and i still did film a bit. i noticed that some of the younger people seemed to be working a bodyguard-like duty around him. buzzcuts and 9/11 truth shirts - people who didn't seem like they belonged with the rest of the crowd, and haven't been in attendence in any other lecture - like the dr. barrett one at bradley university.

also, dr. barrett says he has multiple family connections to peoria. some to bradley and some to lakeview museum. is this just by coincidence (or fictional), or does he say that to all of his audiences?

Let's give him some time.

Let's give him some time. He has gotten some hollywood interest. Let's see what they do with it. There are copies of his talks on some give away dvds. If you want one let us know how to reach you.

I was getting my video camera ready at the Austin event tonight

and William told me the same thing about his deal with a production company and asked me not to film, but then he asked if I would put one of his tapes in my camera and film. I said sure and filled up the 60 minute tape and gave it to him afterwards.

Very successful event...

....with about 500 people attending and Willie gave a riveting account of his experience that day and the aftermath...
