For each and every one of us, there is something in particular that has provided the impetus to look at the events of 9/11 more closely than before. For Jim Babka, of downsizedc.org, the impetus has come in the form of the documentary 9/11: Press For Truth. Please extend a warm welcome to Mr. Babka into the 9/11 Truth movement for recognizing the need and the willingness to now utilize the resources he has created to "Press For Truth.".
Jim Babka is the director of downsizedc.org, a well-organized, grassroots political action group. downsizedc began with a push for passage of the Read The Bills Act, an act to force members of CONgress to actually read the bills before voting on them. RTBA remains the primary focus but, other issues have received serious attention as well.
I have missed Jim's live broadcast on GCNlive 2007-06-10 where he announced the new initiave for downsizedc. If someone could post an .mp3 of this, I'm sure that I would be joined by many who would be greatly appreciative.

My one hour radio show, the Downsize DC Conference Call, is on this afternoon (Sunday) at 4 PM Eastern (3 PM Central, 2 PM Mountain, and 1 PM Pacific). I think this may be one of the most memorable and important shows I'll ever do.
For about three years now, with each passing month, the call for DownsizeDC.org to do something on the topic of 9-11 has intensified. People have sent me videos, books, articles, and tons of emails, insisting that there was more there than met the eye.
I have found some of this stuff to be interesting. However, the claims made in these various presentations almost always exceeded the evidence (when it should be the other way around). Some of them were sheer lunacy.
In February a friend of mine lent me a DVD titled, "9/11 Press for Truth." I didn't want to watch it, but he insisted that this presentation was different. I didn't believe him, but he was a friend, and so I watched it anyway. And he was right.
I purchased some copies of the DVD and asked some close advisers to watch it. All but one of them agreed, it was special. The remaining individual, my working partner at DownsizeDC.org, Perry Willis, at first, refused to watch for the same reasons I did. But he finally relented, and he too agreed, this documentary was different.
Why was it different? Because it asked questions. The evidence it produced supported the questions. The research was backed by solid, mainstream journalism.
And the questions, all by themselves (without any conspiratorial theorizing) are terribly damning -- particularly because they are asked by the victims' families, including a charming group of women the media has dubbed, The Jersey Girls.
It's about the questions. The right questions can result in accountability. We have not had accountability. Quite the opposite. The catastrophe of September 11 has been treated like all the other failures of our Monopoly Government: It has been rewarded with new powers, more money, and a larger bag of favors to hand out.
And that makes this issue a Downsize DC matter.
Today, my radio show will, for the first time in DownsizeDC.org history, launch a new campaign. We have never launched a lobbying effort on a Sunday. But we will today.

This is what is needed most right now. Reaching the mainstream and influential professional class is crucial, and '9/11 Press for Truth' is a perfect gateway for that.

Showing people the questions rather than trying to convince them of conclusions is a way to bring them to question for themselves. We don't want people to blindly agree with us, because they can then easily be convinced to believe something else later on -- we want them to start looking for themselves, to feel the urgency. Paul Thompson's invaluable Timeline still provides the best basis for this, to my knowledge.
Confronting certain people is good -- but being aggressive in any way just scuppers your own efforts. It conditions the majority who might otherwise listen to shut down and turn off at the mention of "9/11 Truth".
I take this as a really good sign.

Let's do it
Here in Minneapolis we are ready to explode. I have access to some key individuals and would love to try and put together a series of screenings, we have some with the local meetups, but they cost money and turnout is low. Churches already have people coming there, and they don't charge you generally for spreading truth around, so I think this could be the defining idea for turning this movement into the unstoppable force we all feel within ourselves driving us to this site and 20 others every day. Let's get it done, I totally believe and am so pumped over this!!

Given the subject of our latest campaign it seems incumbent upon us to state where we stand on the subject of 9-11 Truth.
We feel there is sufficient evidence to assert that the federal government had all the powers and resources it needed to prevent the 9-11 attacks.
* It knew that Osama bin Laden was planning to attack the United States.
* It knew that Al Queda agents were operating in the country.
* It knew that suicide attacks with airplanes were a real possibility.
* It knew that suspicious person were learning how to fly airplanes, with, in at least one case, an alarming disinterest in learning how to land them.
The federal government had the power, without the PATRIOT Act, or torture, or REAL ID, or illegal wiretaps, to learn everything it needed to know to stop the 9-11 attacks.
If the federal government had simply used the powers and resources it already had the 9-11 attacks would have failed, and many thousands of people who are now dead would still be alive and in the arms of their families.
9-11 is a textbook case of the government's congenital institutional inability to focus and perform competently.
If the federal government had simply done its job, using what it already had, then there would have been no . . .
* Disastrous war in Iraq,
* Bloated Department of Homeland Security,
* Overbearing TSA,
* Invasive PATRIOT Act,
* Dangerous REAL ID Act,
* Unconscionable Torture-Tribunal law,
* Illegal spying on American citizens,

Here is the truth, with a little "t," about 9-11: It was a day of massive government failure.
Here is another truth about 9-11: No one in government, and no institution of the government, was held accountable, or paid any price, for this failure.
Here is another truth about 9-11: The federal government, and the people who run it, were actually rewarded for their failure on 9-11, instead of being held accountable.
The federal government failed on 9-11, but the President and the Congress did NOT hold themselves accountable for this failure. Instead, they exploited their own incompetence to grant themselves massive new powers and recources, at your expense.
Worse still, Congress and the President have used these massive new powers and resources to commit even larger failures, such as the war in Iraq. These new failures have made YOU LESS SECURE, rather than more secure.
Government fails consistently, because the institution of government, and the people in government, NEVER PAY ANY PRICE for failure. Government fails consistently, because the people in government are CONSISTENTLY REWARDED FOR FAILURE by gaining greater power and greater access to your wallet.
The incentives by which our government operates are completely backward: Government is always rewarded for its failures, so its incentive is to constantly fail.
This is the fundamental truth about 9-11.
Are there others truths that also matter and that have been neglected? Perhaps. But the idea that the Bush administration somehow conspired with Al Queda to bring about the attacks, is almost certainly not among them.
It makes zero sense that the Bush administration would have been capable of such a massive crime, but incapable, a few months later, of planting WMD's in Iraq. On this basis alone, most of the 9-11 conspiracy theories are non-starters.
This does not mean that the Bush administration did not exploit 9-11 to do things it wanted to do anyway. Of course it did.
Neither does it rule out that some members of the administration may have been intentionally incompetent in order to permit the inciting "Pearl Harbor incident" they were on record as hoping for in advance.
But both of these things are a far cry from most of the conspiracy theories that parade under the banner of "9-11 Truth."
Sadly, the focus on wild theories has tarnished the words "9-11 Truth," and made it harder to actually get at the truth.
We have been inundated with films and books and articles about 9-11. We have heard all the claims and studied all the supposed evidence.
Big claims require big evidence and many "9-11 Truth" claims fail this test. This is why we recommend a documentary film called "9/11 Press for Truth."
"9/11 Press for Truth" is different. It makes few claims, but presents a lot of big evidence. Seeing this movie has prompted us to take action to compel the federal government to re-investigate its own performance on 9-11, and to assume a responsibility equal to its great powers.
The proper federal response to 9-11 should have been to downsize, streamline, and focus. Instead, it used its own failures to upsize, complicate, and thrash about in all directions.
We want Congress to take another look at 9-11, and this time attribute blame, impose penalties, and adopt policies that will enable government to better overcome its innate incompetence.

Downsize DC says that since bushco couldn't produce forged WMD, they weren't competent enough to pull off 911. That's asinine. We're still in Iraq, building permanent bases as well as the world's largest "embassy". We've just done a huge troop surge. We're getting ready to do Iran, possibly using nuclear weapons. WTF does bushco need WMD for?
Since Downsize DC has looked at "all" the evidence, and come to the conclusion that MIHOP is a non starter, I guess all the brave activists and researchers associated with the truth movement are wasting their time. That's beyond insulting.

I wish to GOD Loose Change Final Cut would get released! It's got it all, including fine detail of the false flag cover aspect.
It should be noted, that the false flag cover is ITSELF the very thing which requires the most amount of time and energy, and subtle intelligence work, to leverage into place, at least that's what I've heard. It can take YEARS to prepare. In the case of 9/11 however, the actual op itself was equally complex, involving war gaming, changes of procedure for shoot down orders, some sort of drone swapping, and the preparatory work for high precision engineered explosive and implosive demolition. And let's be clear, the Bush administration merely authorized it, and performed the cover-up in its wake. They themselves did not orchestrate it. It was a military-industrial and intelligence apparatus "black op" through and through, which surely included the Clinton administration as well as the involvement of Bush Sr. through his well placed man, Cheney. Bush Jr. himself was probably left out of the loop, though he performed as planned in that school.. and then ran around the country in fear of his life because of "the Angel is next" communication. 9/11 was a very strange coup detat, leaving all the same actors in place. There can be no doubt, however, that it was a "self inflicted wound" and not a case of "failure" or incompetency, or even gross negligence. The data, is in on that score, and there's a TON of evidence to prove it.

That is pure speculation, a non sequitur, and requires that one ignore the MOUNTAIN of very solid physical evidence from that day, and much of the circumstantial evidence. Also, the incompetence defense makes ZERO sense to anyone who is educated on the neocon agenda, because they have gotten every single thing they set out to achieve.
Here's the difference: The US government had and HAS unlimited power and access to operate within the US. Until the invasion and occupation of Iraq, they had EXTREMELY limited access within that country. So no, it doesn't follow that if they were powerful enough to orchestrate 9/11 then they were powerful enough, and the DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE just planted WMD in Iraq.
This LIHOP limited hangout is garbage, and we should not accept or ally ourselves with it. This can AT BEST only produce another "congressional investigation" which is about the same as Communist China investigating itself for abuses in Tibet. This will simply be a repeat of the Keane-Hamilton sham. It will take up time and further confuse and distract the public from other hard evidence. When it is over and a few people have received slap on the wrist sentences, nobody will want to hear any more evidence dredged up again, it it will be 10 times harder to get anyone to accept the whole truth.

I like PfT very much, for its purpose. Yes, it leaves out all the MIHOP stuff, but you have to pick up some people WAY back there where we (most of us at least) used to be, and step them forward in bite-sized chunks they can process -- while also not lying to them. I think PfT does that balancing act well.

I have been subscribing to downsize dc email for several years, and hoping and waiting till Jim would look into 9/11. I hope he finally does.

Subject: Our Position on 9-11 Truth
Given the subject of our latest campaign it seems incumbent upon us to state where we stand on the subject of 9-11 Truth.
We feel there is sufficient evidence to assert that the federal government had all the powers and resources it needed to prevent the 9-11 attacks.
* It knew that Osama bin Laden was planning to attack the United States.
* It knew that Al Queda agents were operating in the country.
* It knew that suicide attacks with airplanes were a real possibility.
* It knew that suspicious person were learning how to fly airplanes, with, in at least one case, an alarming disinterest in learning how to land them.
The federal government had the power, without the PATRIOT Act, or torture, or REAL ID, or illegal wiretaps, to learn everything it needed to know to stop the 9-11 attacks.
If the federal government had simply used the powers and resources it already had the 9-11 attacks would have failed, and many thousands of people who are now dead would still be alive and in the arms of their families.
9-11 is a textbook case of the government's congenital institutional inability to focus and perform competently.
If the federal government had simply done its job, using what it already had, then there would have been no . . .

What do we care about -- more people being led to start seriously questioning 9/11, or that they must immediately accept our conclusions?
The point is to get intelligent people to start looking, with skepticism, at what happened. At present many won't listen to "9/11 Truthers" because of psychological defences (and the way some "Truthers" can unfortunately come across, whatever their good intentions). The case for MIHOP is so overwhelming that once an individual's journey of reexamination of the issue has begun, there's far more chance they will discover this for themselves. Far more chance than if we insist from the very start that they accept nothing but our own arguments. Many of us who have come to see MIHOP as inescapable came to that through first considering the shocking possibility of LIHOP.
More ordinary people suddenly considering LIHOP is great news for the Truth Movement, because it is one possible gateway to further awakening. Then the onus is on those of us in the Movement who know more to respectfully, humbly yet resolutely keep introducing them to evidence that will lead them to MIHOP. It's harder than just shouting "WTC7!" but it will be far more effective, and our cause deserves the effort. This struggle will not be won without patience, as any of history's successful tactitions would agree.
LIHOP, MIHOP, whatever. Here is an effort likely to lead people toward the Rabbit Hole. Why attack or dismiss it? Engaging with respect will vastly increase the chances of more people making the journey themselves.
