NY Post: Sheen Rethinks Nutty 9/11 Film

May 27, 2007 -- SUPPORT for the loopy 9/11 documentary "Loose Change" - which argues that the World Trade Center terror attack was part of a secret U.S. government conspiracy - is quickly losing steam.

A source tells us Charlie Sheen "is having second thoughts" about being involved in an updated version of the flick, which has a huge following on YouTube. As Page Six reported in March, Sheen had agreed to narrate the ridiculous flick, presumably to give it some needed Hollywood sizzle.

The conspiracy documentary got a further boost earlier this month when Virgin Atlantic announced it would offer the current, narration-free version as an in-flight movie choice. But just days later, it scrapped the idea. "After Virgin announced it, bloggers went nuts and there was so much negative feedback that [the airline] a few days later nixed it," the source said.

After we revealed Sheen's participation, the "Two and a Half Men" star told Extra: "It's a story that needs to be told. It's a story about the truth, and the truth needs to be exposed. It's not just me, not just the Hollywood community [that] is standing up saying what you have given us doesn't make sense. We just want better answers." As for Sheen now pulling his support, the star's flack, Stan Rosenfield, did not return calls over two days.

Another proponent of the "Loose Change" theory is Rosie O'Donnell, who trumpeted her feelings about it on "The View" and her blog, making ABC brass nervous and infuriating some viewers.

O'Donnell reportedly had booked the film's producers, Korey Rowe and Dylan Avery, on Thursday's show. But after getting into a fight with Elisabeth Hasselbeck Wednesday, and after her chief writer was caught defacing Hasselbeck's photos with mustaches, O'Donnell left the show.

"Loose Change" pushes the widely debunked "controlled demolition" theory, which claims the Twin Towers and 7 World Trade Center were blown up from within. It alleges the jet-fuel fires inside the towers weren't hot enough to melt the buildings' steel beams.

Those claims were soundly refuted by Popular Mechanics magazine, which meticulously shot down every single one.

No credibility...

I wonder how much payola Dick Johnson got from PM to print this tripe?

Brilliant call....

....thank you M_R....nicely played....

If our position is so easily discredited, why not demonstrate that in a head-to-head debate and be done with us forever?

How would squashing us like a bug, give us "legitimacy"?

Why, as M_R so astutely pointed out, let Truther numbers continue to grow?

Wouldn't it be better to end this conversation once and for all?

Hmmmmmmm......

P.S. Great job calling BS on the Holocaust Denial comparison as well.

Notice how he went to the "holocaust denial" meme

immediately. I've encountered this from otherwise intelligent people. Somehow, that talking point has been implanted effectively by corporate media and proponents of government opacity like SLC.

I can only guess that people who say that have not read any 9/11 Truth books. If you read someone like DRG, at the very least you have to come away as an agnostic on 9/11. At the very least.

I had to comment because it enrages me that people so callously employ a very serious accusation like "Holocaust denial".

By now, we should recognize that we won't get anywhere with Murdoch-owned media like the Post. Personally, I don't think Truthers should go on Fox News, and I'm suspicious of the frequency with which Fox invites Jim Fetzer and Morgan Reynolds.

"a very serious accusation like "Holocaust denial"."

When, do you think, being called a '911 denier' will be a serious (imprisonable) accusation? As someone who's always been fascinated with WWII, Nazi Germany & Stalin's Russia especially, & history in general, knowing that what we think of as history is nothing more than one fabricated lie after another, you know what pisses me off? Protective stupidity & "crimethink".

From the "Newspeak" dictionary,

crimestop - Orwell's definition: "The faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought. It includes the power of not grasping analogies, of failing to perceive logical errors, of misunderstanding the simplest arguments if they are inimical to Ingsoc, and of being bored or repelled by any train of thought which is capable of leading in a heretical direction. In short....protective stupidity."

crimethink - To even consider any thought not in line with the principles of Ingsoc. Doubting any of the principles of Ingsoc. All crimes begin with a thought. So, if you control thought, you can control crime. "Thoughtcrime is death. Thoughtcrime does not entail death, Thoughtcrime is death.... The essential crime that contains all others in itself."

http://www.newspeakdictionary.com/ns-dict.html

Sound familiar? Eerily so.

Nice deflection

Nice deflection - he hits with the holocaust you respond with well I sorta see what you are trying to imply but really that is talking about two completely different things and we are talking about two utterly completely different groups of people - all the 911Truthers want is answers to questions and the truth...

Bravo bravo bravo

Hells Bells, I'm sure glad

Hells Bells, I'm sure glad these MAGAZINE WRITERS cleared up all the doubt about the towers. If MAGAZINE WRITERS meticulously refuted every single claim of controlled demolition, well then, that's good enough for me!

Which is good, because with all these physicists, structural engineers, geologists, fire technicians, seismic technicians, demolitions experts, professional pilots, and even blacksmiths casting doubt on the official consipracy theory, I was gettin' kinda worried there. But thank God for Benjimin Chertoff (Micheal's cousin) and those other MAGAZINE WRITERS at UnPopular Mechanics for setting the story straight, once and for all!.

Rag readers are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, but even they will come to a point when they realize they are being insulted rather than educated.

So use all the nutty, crazy, loopy, wacky adjectives you want, Mr. Johnson. As far as 9/11 Truth goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity, only publicity...

I think you should draw those adjectives in cartoon balloons around the celebrity's picture, like in the old Batman TV show, just to add even more credibility to your column.

"They took it from the top to the bottom, we're gonna take them from the bottom to the top." - Dan Wallace

I've said it before...

and I'll say it again. We're on our own.

Our days of wishful thinking that famous people would help us should come to an end. At the same time our denial about having to take to the streets needs to end as well.

If and when we ever do hit the streets, our main target needs to be the corporate media, such as the NY Post that wrote this pathetic article.

Hyperbolic last sentence

is a sure sign of desperation.

"Those claims were soundly refuted by Popular Mechanics magazine, which meticulously shot down every single one."

There's absolutely no information of any value in this entire article.

aside from that the author

aside from that the author says that the steel beams melted - which is something that the NIST report and PM both say didnt happen.. the guy has no clue.

Yeah Right.

Somehow, (maybe I missed it) Stan Rosenfield, (Sheens flak) ...not returning calls from the NY Post... (I would hesitate too) has translated into (no less than) the headline...SHEEN RETHINKS NUTTY 9/11 FILM...Quite a stretch.

Maybe the author Richard Johnson can read Charlies mind?

I'll be listening for ya Charlie!

Quite a stretch

Quite a stretch indeed...

Murdoch's poodle atttacks

Murdoch's poodle atttacks again. guess the old man and his buddies are getting nervous, creating false victories and all. while its too bad that Sheen may have lost his nerve(that would explain his complete silence of late as well.)to say its losing support is a bit hopeful on their part. gotta love that BLATANT lie at the very end too. classy.

ps:i dont mean to sound angry at Sheen. i honestly dont know how i would react if i were famous and thought that the pedophile and dead pornstar allegations etc. were in reaction to me coming out for 9/11 truth. maybe thats why Sheen has been completely silent on 9/11 after his "coming out" so to speak.

Sheen Drops "Loose Change"

Source: tmz.com

5/27/2007

Charlie Sheen is no wacky conspiracy theorist. The sitcom star is having second thoughts about being involved in the 9/11 conspiracy documentary "Loose Change," which argues that the World Trade Center attack was an inside job. Though Sheen initially told "Extra" that the film was "a story about the truth, and the truth needs to be exposed," he's now backtracking. Sources told Page Six that Sheen is "having second thoughts" about future involvement with the film.

"Loose Change" also took a hit this week from Rosie O'Donnell. O'Donnell was a huge "Change" supporter, and had reportedly booked the film's producers on "The View," but now that she's quit, it looks like that segment won't be running anytime soon.

"Having second thoughts" not the same as

"dropping" out. Also, consider the source.

Let's wait for Charlie Sheen to issue a statement (probably via Alex Jones).

I find it difficult to believe Sheen would go as far as he has gone, and then back out. If Sheen backs out, it would be a huge blow to the credibility of the Alex Jones/Louder Than Words axis. Jones keeps saying all these Hollywood types are Truthers, but where are they (especially if Sheen drops out)? And the Louder Than Words guys have always been accused by their critics of just wanting to "go Hollywood". With Rosie off the air (before having any Truthers on The View), Sheen's departure would suggest we cannot expect any help from the entertainment industry.

...

"wacky conspiracy theorist"

Associated Press
"Foggo and Wilkes now face 30 wide-ranging counts of fraud, conspiracy and money laundering."

ABCNews
"The four Aryan Brotherhood members were convicted of murder, conspiracy and racketeering."

UPI
"He was charged with conspiracy last year and moved to civilian custody in January."

I wonder if the people that did the work catching these criminals were "wacky?" You know... the Police, the FBI, etc...

If it's true.....

If you analyze this article logically, then you have to give all the claims made in this article equal merit.

The claim that Charlie Sheen wants nothing more to do with Loose Change, should be given as much credit as the sentence that reads 'Those claims were soundly refuted by Popular Mechanics magazine, which meticulously shot down every single one'.

If it's true then 9/11 truth has to be bigger than Charlie Sheen and Loose Change.

From a drop of water, a logician could infer the possibility of an Atlantic or a Niagra without having seen or heard of one or the other. So it is that my name is Sherlock Holmes, it is my business to know what other people don't know

HAHAHA

I laughed so hard at :

"Those claims were soundly refuted by Popular Mechanics magazine, which meticulously shot down every single one."

What are these people smoking?

In bed together

Popular Mechanics pushed the government version because they are in bed with the government.

IN Dr Griffins Debunking the 911 Debunkers, he states that Popular Mechanics has a person by the name of Brian Cherthoff running the 9-11 division. He is 1st cousin of Homeland Security head Michael Cherthoff.

It cant be more obvious than this.

Popular Mechanics is a tool of the government..simple and clear.
What they say is irrellevent.

The Eleventh Day of Every Month

either way

they might be putting out disinfo so the neocons dont trash it, the narration should be done if theyre in post production, whoever it maybe, lets lay low

This Page Six bozo is for sale

Apparently, Mr. Johnson has been caught taking a bribe.

"HOW much positive ink does a $1,000 gift to a gossip columnist buy?

To many New Yorkers, the acknowledgment by The New York Post that one of its columnists, Richard Johnson, once accepted that amount from Nello Balan, a Madison Avenue restaurateur, seemed to confirm all that is noir about the city’s tabloid gossip world: That hungry strivers are not beyond offering cash-stuffed envelopes to powerful gossip chieftains, and columnists are not beyond pocketing it.

Mr. Johnson’s own Page Six acknowledged the gift on May 18, along with a statement by Col Allan, The Post’s editor, that Mr. Johnson had made a “grave mistake” and that the newspaper now had a policy prohibiting such gifts.

Was there a quid pro quo?

A database check shows that in the two years after the gift was made, around Christmas 1997, according to The Post, Mr. Balan or his restaurant, Nello, were mentioned at least 15 times in Page Six, almost always favorably. Typical items included a sighting of Mickey Rourke “showing off his trim torso” at the restaurant, which is a block north of Barneys, or David Duchovny and Téa Leoni dining at a sidewalk table “with a dozen paparazzi recording every bite.”

See, instead of making phone calls to Johnson asking for fair coverage of 9/11 Truth, we should be raising money to buy favorable coverage, like his other clients.
