Vermont Congressmen Will Not Push For New 9/11 Investigation, Participate In Cover-Up Instead

Vermont's two U.S. senators and one congressman are not interested in urging a new investigation into the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
A Burlington group working through the fall and early winter gathered more than 1,350 signatures -- 5 percent of the city's registered voters -- to put an advisory question about 9/11 on the city's Town Meeting Day ballot.
The question asks whether Vermont's congressional delegation should be "advised to demand a new, thorough, and truly independent forensic investigation that fully addresses the many questions surrounding the tragic events of September 11, 2001."
Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy, a persistent critic of the Bush administration, said in an e-mail from his spokesman, David Carle, that he "respects the work and the findings of the 9/11 Commission. Their report was highly critical of the failures and miscues they discovered, and they recommended a wide range of reforms.
"Since then," the e-mail continued, "some have come up with their own theories, and that's always the case after major events like this. The 9/11 Commission's report remains the most credible, the most thorough and the most constructive investigation that has been undertaken about those attacks."
Participants in the petition drive have noted the question doesn't offer a theory of what happened Sept. 11, but the group's Web site, www.vt911.org, refers to the findings of the 9/11 Commission Report -- the federal commission was created in late November 2002 -- as "the official conspiracy theory" and raises a number of questions about the day.
The Web site questions why Building No. 7 in the World Trade Center complex collapsed without being struck as the two towers were, and why all three buildings in the complex collapsed as though they were "brought down by controlled demolition." The Web site also provides links to books, videos and 31 separate 9/11 Web sites, including one to the online "Journal of 9/11 Studies."
The subject is emotional for people who doubt the official report. That has been reflected in numerous e-mails sent to the Free Press responding to articles about the local petition drive.
"Bless you for covering this important signature-gathering event," wrote Steve Dondanville of Ridgefield, Wash. "An investigation into what really happened on 9/11 is crucial if we are to continue as a republic."
"We do need a new, real investigation," Chris Noth of Iowa wrote. "The Kean/ Hamilton Commission failed terribly. The WTC complex was blown up by controlled demolition that had been planned for years most likely."
"I am proud to see Americans questioning what really happened on September 11," wrote Jim Brewer of Austin, Texas.
Laurie Van Auken, whose husband, Kenneth, was killed in the attack on the World Trade Center, said by telephone from her home in East Brunswick, N.J., that the Burlington ballot item is valuable because "it brings attention to these unanswered questions."
Van Auken said she was one of the "Jersey widows" who demanded for 14 months that an official investigation be mounted to explain what happened Sept. 11. She was unhappy with the commission's 2004 report. "It's pathetic," she said.
A thorough investigation, she said, would have included interviews with intelligence, aeronautical and military experts. "Every agency failed," she said of Sept. 11. "Intelligence, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command), FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). ... We had just one great failure of everything. We wanted experts not just to be called, but to follow up on questions."
Van Auken said the many unanswered questions are important because the Bush administration "is using 9/11 as a reason to take our nation to war. We all need to understand what went down that day," she said.
Some who dismiss the thoroughness of the 9/11 Commission Report question whether the fires caused by the exploding jet fuel could have been hot enough to cause the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings. Others say no videos have been released of American Airlines Flight 77 hitting the Pentagon, and some say the area covered by debris from United Airline Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania, suggests the plane was brought down by a missile.
Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders and Democratic Rep. Peter Welch said they wouldn't push for a new investigation of Sept. 11, making the congressional delegation unanimous in its answer to the ballot question. Welch said, through a spokesman, he believed the official report was "both thorough and complete in outlining the events of September 11 and the mistakes made leading up to the attacks."
Sanders' chief of staff, Jeff Weaver, said in an e-mail that Sanders believes the official report was "thorough" and provided "important suggestions to help our country combat terrorism." Sanders also believes, Weaver wrote, "we should continue to work to make sure that all the recommendations of the commission are implemented."

Jesse Jackson on 9/11 Cover-up
I was listening to Jesse Jackson's radio program "Keep Hope Alive" this morning and a very passionate articulate caller started going off about how the two towers fell at free fall speed and how if each floor had only given half a second of resistence it would have taken at least 55 seconds for the towers to fall.
He mentioned the security company in charge of the WTC and the Bush connection there. He made some other very powerful points. Rev. Jackson let him go on for a bit without interruption.
Jesse responded by saying the caller had raised some "valid questions" that need to be thoroughly investigated. Congresswoman Barbara Lee was also on, but she did not comment on the 9/11 issue. She was there mainly to talk about the war in Iraq.

No further investigations will pursue any of the 9/11 anomalies. Nothing will happen without 10s of millions of angry people on the street demanding the government resign for its obvious involvement in 9/11.
Unfortunately:
1) Americans have bought into the idea of their own powerlessness, apathy, distraction through consumer pleasures, and the idea they have anything to lose by slowing down the runaway train of this civilization before it goes over the cliff.
2) The pretend debunkers have done a pretty good job at looking reasonable and containing the 9/11 skeptics - South Park amounted to a declaration that we are now considered a harmless subculture, easily accommodated within the rainbow of American Eccentricity.
3) The OCT defenders have had important de facto allies among 9/11 skeptics:
a) all of us who are too lazy to research and learn the real evidence, instead of quacking out the usual easily digestible bits, and thus fell for mistake-ridden junk like LC2.
b) those among us who are consciously and objectively hostile to the cause, who have attacked the Sept. 11 families and everyone who was ever effective in communicating with a larger public - if they're not COINTELPRO, they might as well be.
This site is currently under heavy attack by a particularly notorious disrupter. These characters have accommodated the OCTs in every way, especially by providing progressively more ridiculous and unsubstantiated theories to debunk. (When the pod didn't work, they went to holograms, then no planes at all.)
The truth is, and it sucks: the only two hopes to revive 9/11 truth as an effective force are:
1) Top-level or at least genuinely inside whistleblowers
2) Another false-flag attack in the US gets exposed as soon as it happens.
3) By historians - after the total collapse of the empire.
Not that continuing educational efforts aren't worthwhile. They seed the ground in case of #1 or #2. But please, people, go with the quality!
One more option
There is one more option you left out:
#4 - Credible, eloquent and intelligent researchers must take personal responsibility, step up to the plate, and offer guidance to this movement THROUGH EXAMPLE.
It is better to light one candle - than to sit and curse the darkness while romanticizing about writing your memoirs.
Sure, most of us with IQs over 100 can see the forest for the trees, and understand that 9/11 Truth has been heavily compromised and maginalized. You are very succinct in makeing that point.
But, nowhere in your post do i see any sense of personal responsibility. You in fact seem to imply that we are too late.
I disagree for the following reasons.
1 - The fat lady has not yet sung. She may be warming up in the wings - but she has not yet sung. Growing disenchantment with the escalating violence and chorus of lies has readied the american public to more-easily accept the premise that this administration must be stopped - at any cost. I would suggest that there is more of a psychological willingness to look a 2nd and 3rd time at EVERY action and claim of this administration.
2 - The desperate nature of the situation - where America is now increasingly confronted with issues of its own mortality and survival - with impending conflict with Iran and possible nuclear war - may make 911 Truth the ONLY truth sufficiently shocking enough to stop this crazed horse of foreign policy from charging blindly towards a burning barn. I suggest that the higher the stakes - the more probable that 911 Truth will become revealed.
2 - The opposition may have made a crucial mistake. By finally opening the doors to the media, they have in fact fed that "harmless subculture" more fuel. And while they appear to have marginalized us in many ways - they have also created a stage - a vacuum of accountability - that will NEVER be filled by all the clowns and jugglers and circus freaks they care to throw at it.
It is my opinion that the attention they have focused on the subject could flip on them - very easily - if the right people now USE THIS STAGE to make a DEFINITIVE and COGENT statement - sufficiently LUCID ENOUGH to mesmerize the masses.
Malcolm X did it. Dr King did it. Ghandi did it.
In the 1940s the White Rose Society distributed student leaflets simply and succinctly stating the TRUTH about Nazi Germany. They were caught and executed.
But, one flier was smuggled out of the country - and the allies dropped over ONE MILLION COPIES of it on Germany from their allied planes.
Your analysis is very astute and valuable. But it is missing one crucial element. Personal responsibility. Get to work. We must ALL step up to the plate and attempt to be Ghandi to this movement. Maybe one of us will be lucky enough to succeed in smuggling the truth out - and, like the White Rose, it will be unstoppable.

Asking politicians to go against the grain and do something useful for their constituents (let alone controversial) is like asking a pack of hyenas to share part of their kill. It's just not gonna happen.
"Power conceded nothing without a demand. It never has and it never will" (Douglas). Everyone needs to go out and read Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States". The only way progress has ever happened in this country or any other country is by large numbers of people getting off their asses, flooding the streets and making so much noise that the scum-suckers in their ivory towers have no choice but to listen -- and act. Humble petitions and eloquent letter-writing campaigns are fine hobbies but if we're looking for results we need a real plan of action.

The orgininal other posting on this topic contains my response that this effort would only turn out to be a symbolic one as the "representatives" would just say no. Congressman Paul is quoted in another thread as saying an impartial investigation is not a real posibility, and that is certainly the truth and is so for the reasons he stated -- there is no real difference between the two major parties' policies. It is all just theater. None of them are representing us. None of them are statesmen. None of them are patriots. None of them care about what is right and just for America and Americans. All of these jokers, Leahy especially of late, say some really patriotic sounding things, just as other leaders such as Churchill did, but the bottom line is they are all purchased sycophants or front men and women for the one world government death and slavery system.

We only had about 12 people there and of course the weather was miserable, but we did get lots of people giving us honks and thumbs up, people apparently from the full range of American lifestyles and ages.
