An Open Letter To Congress

Here is a copy of the letter I sent to Rep. John Conyers and Sen. Patrick Leahy. I tried to attach this earlier but it didn't work!

The Hon. John Conyers 11/19/06(Orig. Message Sent)
House of Representatives
Washington, D.C.

Dear Sir:

I was extremely upset to hear, after the Democratic election victory, that you and Rep. Pelosi have pronounced
that, "impeachment is off the table." We voters sent you a message that we expect you to put a stop to the
Bush/Cheney pattern of lies, deceit, and destruction of the U.S. Constitution. Recent polls verify that a majority
of Americans agree that Bush/Cheney should be impeached for their flagrant disregard of U.S. and International
Law. There is sufficient evidence to bring indictments against many members of the Bush Administration for
lying to Congress, manufacturing intelligence, and involving the U.S. in two unnecessary wars. There is also
a preponderance of evidence that these same persons were involved in the planning and execution of the
horrific events of 9/11/01. Any U.S. citizen involved in any way with the facilitation of 9/11 is guilty of high treason,
mass murder, and willful destruction of public and private property. All Americans have a right to know the truth
about 9/11, no matter how horrible it may be. The evil monsters that, "committed this unbelievable, despicable,
act on America..."(Quote: George Bush, 9/13/01, CSPAN 2) must be brought to justice, no matter what the cost.
We owe this to the victims, the family members, and the Founding Fathers who created this great nation.

1. The creation of a new INDEPENDENT 9/11 investigation involving Congress, scientists, engineers, and
9/11 scholars with the power to subpoena witnesses and interrogate them UNDER OATH.

2. A new Federal Grand Jury and a Special Prosecutor to indict and bring to trial those persons involved
in these "crimes against humanity."

3. The immediate commencement of impeachment hearings concerning the actions of Bush/Cheney/Rice, et. al.

4. The immediate cessation of all illegal surveillance of Americans without warrants or Federal Court oversight.

5. The nullification of the recently signed "Military Commissions Act" that is being executed illegally.
[Congress delivered the bill to Pres. Bush on Sept. 30th, 2006 and then adjourned. Article 1, Section 7 of
the U.S. Constitution states that once a bill is delivered, the President then has 10 days(excluding Sundays)
to return the bill to Congress(a veto) or sign it into law. If this deadline is missed and Congress is not in
session, the bill becomes null and void - a "pocket veto." Pres. Bush signed the bill on 10/17/06, thus
exceeding the deadline and "killing" the bill.

6. The immediate repeal of the infamous "Patriot Act," which was ill-conceived and violates many
Constitutional Principles, while allowing the Executive Branch unprecedented and unnecessary powers.

7. The timely withdrawal of all U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, with a pledge to rebuild those countries
that we have so wantonly destroyed.

8. The immediate release of all so-called "enemy combatants" and return to their countries of origin,
and the cessation of torture, illegal detention, and violation of human rights under the Geneva Convention
and International Law.

9. An end to "false-flag" terrorism by U.S. Intelligence Agencies and the phony "War on Terror." There is
overwhelming evidence of FBI/CIA/MI5/MI6/ISI/MOSSAD complicity and support of Al-Qaeda, the
Taliban, and Osama Bin Laden. It is noteworthy that the FBI has recently announced that there is, "no
hard evidence" that Bin Laden had any involvement in the 9/11 attacks.

10. The immediate release of all documents, video tapes, and photographic evidence relevent to the
attacks of 9/11 that the White House, DOD, FBI, NSA, and CIA are withholding from the public for
reasons of "National Security."

I hope that you share my deep concerns about the future of our country and will make a strong
effort to stop the insane rush toward fascism in America. I believe that most Americans desire a
return to our Founding Principles of Truth, Justice, and Freedom for ALL people.

Sincerely Yours,

Paul Mirsalis

U.S. Senate
Washington, D.C.

Bravo! Well done!

I am in the process of writing a similar letter to my Congressman, Honorable Henry Waxman, aka: "The Bulldog" We shall see if he lives up to his nick-name.

Hear, hear!

I would have switched the order of 1 and 3, but quibbles, quibbles.

Good work--good night.

Well done!

I think 10 should be 3, and 3 should be omitted.

Not because I think that impeachment is not warranted. It is! This is why:

1. Investigations must come first. Since we are asking for an investigation, we should not assume the result of the investigations.

2. There is reluctance to impeach, but less reluctance to investigate, so we should not suggest that investigation = impeachment. It does in my mind, but that is not necessarily true, and if there is no investigation, there will be no impeachment (see 1).

I am talking about impeachment for 9/11. John Conyers has already written the book why Bush/Cheney should be impeached for lying about Iraq. I think that investigation is done and impeachment should start yesterday on those grounds. 9/11 charges can be added.

But this is also just a quibble. Thank you!

Paul

You do your country proud.Hummmm? As Hannity would say....Your a great American.
If everyone would take the time to do this it might shake the tree.
