Another 9/11 animation from Purdue engineers

The goal of our team was to produce a visualization of the September 2001 attack on the Pentagon and World Trade Center. The immediate motivation for the project was to understand the behavior of the building under the impact. The longer term motivation was to establish a path for producing high-quality visualizations of large scale simulations. The first challenge was managing the enormous complexity of the scene to fit within the limits of state-of-the art simulation software systems and supercomputing resources. The second challenge was to integrate the simulation results into a high-quality visualization

lame animation

it is bizarre how the mostly hollow aluminum plane can cut through massive boxed steel columns. it's also strange that they left out the boxed steel portion of the columns. The boxed steel is the the criss-cross matrix of more steel girders wrapped around the columns themselves.

wow, you mean like...

when straw pierces an oak tree or telephone pole in a tornado.
please don't ever use this softer aluminum wing crap again. thanks.

Show "Did the straw pierce into it like the fuselage or engines" by Killtown

i'm sorry, sir isaac newton

maybe you didn't read why your theory is indeed "crap"
(from the link provided in my earlier post)
The mechanical properties of a projectile
depends on its speed. For example, if I take a soft lead bullet and press it
slowly against a steel plate, say 0.5 cm thick, using a mechanical press, it
would deform into a lead disc and the steel plate would be largely
unaffected. However, if I take the same soft lead bullet and it's fired from
a 0.357 Magnum, it would easily blow a large hole in the same steel plate.
The difference is that deformation of a projectile takes a certain amount of
time to occur. If the impact time is very short compared to this
characteristic time of deformation, the mechanical properties of the object
will be very different. This is not an uncommon phenomenon.

go look up what a spec of paint, or a small

space "junk" or " debris can do when striking other earth orbiting items, like satellites or the space shuttle, at 17000 mph. A small bolt or nut which weighs practically nothing, travelling at 17000 mph, can seriously damage or even destroy much bigger/heavier/stronger things in orbit. This is not speculation, its a known fact.

Space shuttle

A chuck of insulation foam fell off, hit the wing, and damaged insulation of the wing. It was reentry heat that did most of the damage, due to breach of the wing's integrity. It was not the debris itself that destroyed the wing.

right

fair point, but off point. the point is a spec of paint flying at 17000 mph could puncture an aluminum satellite, for example.

Yes

but the point is also that a steel building with a relative impact velocity of 500 mph would destroy the plane. The aluminum airframe is weak. The engines and the fuel-laden portion of the wing between the engines would probably have enough kinetic energy to shear the columns, but the whole plane would not penetrate seamlessly. That's what NIST claims:

http://ningens-blog.blogspot.com/2007/05/screenshots-of-nists-flight-175...

A speck of paint seems like an exaggeration. A small piece of aluminum - 0.7 mm - can penetrate a 2.5 mm aluminum satellite surface at 21,000 mph. "Smaller impacts, which can degrade mission performance or cause mission denial, are much more common with tens of thousands, if not millions of such impacts/m2 of exposed surface area occurring throughout a satellite's lifetime. "

i can't believe i'm still wasting my time with killtown, but...

yes, straw is in fact hollow. whether we're talking about a drinking straw or the natural variety. lead bullets, not that i'm aware of, but it doesn't really matter. i hope you're being paid well to waste away your days getting laughed at.

Straw, trees, and Tornadoes

How do tornadoes do some weird things, like drive straw into trees, strip road pavement and drive splinters into bricks?

The list of bizarre things attributed to tornadoes is almost endless. Much of it is folklore; but there are some weird scenes in tornado damage. ...Intense winds can bend a tree or other objects, creating cracks in which which debris (e.g., hay straw) becomes lodged before the tree straightens and the crack tightens shut again.

it's comical

that the government really expects us to think that's real... sorta like the landing on the moon...

RE: the moon

I hope that's a joke...

"Ah the flag isn't waving!! They faked it all!"

lol...

actually the problems are in

the physical impossibilities in the shadows, and the fact that the Van Allen Radiation belt would have killed anyone venturing thru it in those unprotected spacecraft, to get to the moon in the first place. not to mention the "deep-space" video fakery which really took place in low-earth orbit. All of which can be found by doing a little research.

9/11 teaches us that any bs of any magnitude is possible, and moreso, probable. Research everything you think you know, or were taught in school, and believe to be self-evident, you'd be surprised how much of those versions of history are bs. Its a proverbial "truman Show".

not to mention

The fact that we "went to the moon" several times after the first in 1969, but never again since. Too expensive? Don't make me laugh, especially with so many advances in technology. The other thing that got me was the fact that it's over 200 degrees F on the moon. How did they cool the lander? Airc onditioning? Running on batteries in 1969? Hahahha. Yep, belief in the moon landing is faith-based, pure and simple. Oh yeah, they lost the films, too. Oops.

Purdue 'engineers' smoke crack

As an indicator of how poor this 'simulation' is, Flight 11 managed to knock loose one column unit (3 columns total) from the South face as the aircraft debris exits. This video shows at least 12 columns severed - I'm guessing their core damage is therefore also exaggerated four- fold.

They cant have it both ways.

Yeah, flight 77 did such relatively little damage to the Pentagon, yet they are
trying to tell us that the same kind of planes that hit the WTC towers ripped out all those huge columns
of steel.

They cant have it both ways.

How come they both hit the buildings between floors?

Incidently, i was just wondering what would have happened if either of the WTC planes had hit the buildings between floors.
Surely the buildings are stronger at the points where the floors are attached, and the planes might not have penetrated into the buildings
as much as they did.. It is this penetration that the official story rests on, if they had hit the outside, exploded and fell to the ground, no one would have believed it would be enough to bring the buildings down.

This could lend weight to the theory that the planes were in some way computer guided into the buildings to avoid the high degree of probability of at least one of the them hitting between floors.

actually

its because the entirety of the bird's mass is focused into one small area of the wing, rupturing the stronger alumium, and damaging the bird - much like the entirety of the planes were focused into the facades of the buildings, rupturing the stronger steel, and damiging the palnes. Your example refutes your argument.

The diameter of the fuselage is greater

than the space between floors. The fuselage would hit either one floor or two. Computer guidance could not get the plane in between floors.
