Gerald Ford & Watergate Revisited.

(This was sent in to 911blogger from 911truth.ie.)

“Ford himself was reputedly one of the most exalted Freemasons ever to occupy the presidency. Preponderant power during the last years of Nixon and during the Ford years was in any case exercised by Henry Kissinger, the de facto president, about whose pedigree and strategy something has been said above. The preserving of constitutional form and ritual as a hollow facade behind which to realize practices more and more dictatorial in their substance was a typical pragmatic adaptation made possible by the ability of the financiers to engineer the slow and gradual decline of the economy, avoiding upheavals of popular protest.” (1991)

“By the beginning of the 1990's, it has become something of a commonplace to refer to the complex of events surrounding the fall of Nixon as a coup d'etat. It was to be sure a coup d'etat, but one whose organizers and beneficiaries most commentators and historians are reluctant to name, much less to confront. Broadly speaking, Watergate was a coup d'etat which was instrumental in laying the basis for the specific new type of authoritarian-totalitarian regime which now rules the United States. The purpose of the coup was to rearrange the dominant institutions of the US government so as to enhance their ability to carry out policies agreeable to the increasingly urgent dictates of the British-dominated Morgan- Rockefeller-Mellon-Harriman financier faction. It is obvious that George Bush himself is one of the most prominent of such beneficiaries. As the Roman playwright Seneca warns us, "Cui prodest scelus, is fecit" - the one who derives advantage from the crime is the one most likely to have committed it. The policies of the Wall Street investment banking interests named are those of usury and Malthusianism, stressing the decline of a productive industrial economy in favor of savage Third World looting and anti-population measures. The changes subsumed by Watergate included the abolition of government's function as a means to distribute the rewards and benefits of economic progress among the principal constituency groups upon whose support the shifting political coalitions depended for their success. Henceforth, government would appear as the means by which the sacrifices and penalties of austerity and declining standards of living would be imposed on a passive and stupefied population.” (1991)

“Two important witnesses, each of whom represented a threat to reopen the most basic questions of Watergate, dead in little more than a week! Bush is likely to have known of the import of Russell's testimony, and he is proven to have known of the content of Leon's. Jerris Leonard later told Hougan that the death of John Leon "came as a complete shock. It was... well, to be honest with you, it was frightening. It was only a week after Russell's death, or something like that, and it happened on the very eve of the press conference. We didn't know what was going on. We were scared." Hougan comments: "With the principal witness against Bellino no longer available, and with Russell dead as well, Nixon's last hope of diverting attention from Watergate-slim from the beginning-was laid to rest forever."

Since the death of President Gerald Ford last week we have had a relentless media onslaught to convince us that Gerald Ford was a ‘wonderful’ person and a ‘healer’ after the Watergate affair of 1974. The words of Karl Rove to Ron Suskind as reported in the NYT of October 17th 2004 came to mind:

“…guys like me were '’in what we call the reality-based community,'’ which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality - judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

In short, it doesn’t matter that Gerald Ford was about as far from a ‘wonderful’ man or a ‘healer’ as it is possible. The reality is almost completely irrelevant. The media will simply create the reality that is judicious for the agenda of their masters.

Of course, anybody who was aware that Gerald Ford was one of the eight members of the infamous Warren Commission will, dependent on their knowledge of the JFK assassination, be given serious pause for thought with regard to such labels. It is worth restating what the Warren Commission concluded then:

“The commission's determination was that it was likely that all injuries inside the limousine were caused by only two bullets, and thus one shot likely missed the motorcade, but it could not determine which of the three. The first shot to hit anyone struck President Kennedy in the upper back, exited at his throat, and likely continued on to cause ALL of Governor Connolly’s injuries.”

“Rather than admit to a conspiracy or investigate further, the Commissioners chose to endorse the theory put forth by an ambitious junior counselor, Arlen Specter. One of the grossest lies ever forced on the American people, we’ve come to know it as the “magic bullet” theory.” Oliver Stone’s JFK

Thus, not alone was Gerald Ford none of things described as in the past few days, he was at least an accessory after the fact to one of the great crimes of the last century. If ever brought to justice, he would have been sentenced to death for treason.

Readers may recall that Ford became President after the Watergate affair of 1974. Until last Saturday I, having been brought up on a diet of ‘All the Presidents Men’ and the story of the legendary exploits of Woodward and Bernstein, had bought the official line regarding Watergate hook, line and sinker. It is worth restating the official story via Wikipedia briefly here:

“The term Watergate scandal refers to a 1972 break-in of the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. by members of the Richard Nixon administration. The burglars' aim was to plant listening devices, while disguised as common criminals to provide cover. They were informally called the "plumbers unit" to "plug leaks," and included former members of the CIA. Though then-President Nixon had endured two years of mounting political embarrassments, the court-ordered release in August, 1974, of a "smoking gun tape" about the burglaries brought with it the prospect of certain impeachment for Nixon; he resigned only four days later on August 9, making him the only U.S. President to have resigned from office.”

That was, until last Saturdays broadcast of World Crisis Radio by Webster Tarpley. The entire broadcast can be downloaded here:

The 15 minute excerpt (15 mb .mp3) where Tarpley summarises Gerald Ford and his role in the events of 1970’s and right up to the election of Reagan in 1980 can be downloaded here:

http://www.911truth.ie/Audio/misc/GeraldFordandWatergateRevisited-WorldCrisisRadioDec30.mp3

This is an excerpt. Fascinating is NOT the word:

“What is the Washington Post? The flagship newspaper of Watergate. Well it is certainly not the house organ of democratic participatory democracy. Eugene Meyer who founded the Washington Post in its modern form was a Roosevelt hater, and when Roosevelt rightly ditched the Gold Standard in 1933 Eugene Meyer and other finance oligarchs decided that that was the end of the world and what Meyer did was to quit the Federal Reserve, go to Washington D.C. and buy the Washington Post and make it the house organ of a faction that wants to weaken the Presidency always in the name what - greater power for the Federal Reserve and the finance oligarchs. The general ideas of Watergate were known in advance, you can look at Jim Hawkins book ‘Body of Secrets’ and you’ll see there’s a British agent by the name of Wolfstan Smith who knows in early June 1972 the entire scenario. And of course, the scenario is more or less this:

A group of controlled agents including I’m afraid Daniel Ellsberg and others leak the Pentagon Papers – these contained nothing that readers of Le Monde or any other European newspapers would not be aware of. But this notion of leaks was used by Kissinger to convince Nixon to organize the ‘plumbers,’ so Kissinger is the one that creates the ‘plumbers’ with Howard Hunt of the CIA and Gordon Liddy of the FBI and these people go out and act as loose cannons or agent provocateurs making not one, not two, not three but four attempts I believe to break into the Watergate building in order to get caught so that Nixon could be implicated.

In 1973 they decide to get rid of Agnew as the first step. Gerald Ford comes in, he becomes Vice President. Then, the smoking gun tape, which is Nixon talking about the Texans, a group of people that includes George Bush the elder, and talking about how to get them to testify, talking about certain dirty money that was used. So then they bring in Ford as President when Nixon resigns in August 1974. At that point there is a conflict about who is going to take over the Vice Presidency. The winning candidate of course is Nelson Rockefeller but the runner up was George Bush, who was intimately involved in Watergate. That’s in 1974. Now it’s very interesting that before too long attempts to kill Gerald Ford begin to multiply, that’s ‘Annette Squeaky From’ and ‘Sarah Jane Moore’ One of them coming basically from the Manson family. It just illustrates that it’s not good to have somebody as intimately linked with the invisible government as Vice President Rockefeller. Surely at that point there should have been, after you get two lone assassins, one lone assassin we can understand, but two lone assassins in a row there ought to have been a special prosecutor, is there a conspiracy to make Nelson Rockefeller the President

In the meantime Ford had pardoned Nixon. In the first month of his Presidency. Now, we are told that it was because he was such a humanitarian. None of it. The purpose of it was – Nixon’s legal defense would have been to fight back and show that there was a conspiracy for a cout d’etat involving the Washington Post and the Federal Reserve System….

In writing that original 1992 biography of Bush the elder I spent a couple of weeks at the Ford library in Ann Arbor Michigan and got to know Gerald Ford pretty well, even though this was not the actual goal of what I was there to do. Just two other interesting questions. The November 1976 election was actually won by Ford, Ford defeated Carter, There was however massive vote fraud in Ohio and New York. This was done with the strong support of the ruling elite. You’ll remember that at a meeting of the Trilateral Commission in 1975, Jimmy Carter, far from being the anonymous Governor of a small southern state, was presented by Gianni Agnelli of Fiat, saying to them, ladies and gentlemen, this is the next President of the United States and they put him in, despite the wishes of the voters, who would have been happy to stick with Ford. That was the day of Walter Mondale’s famous speech ‘vote early and vote often!’ The question was, would Ford fight that vote fraud? He was possibly considering doing it but then he had his alcoholic wife Betty. Betty Ford was under the influence of the wife of the Vice President Happy Rockefeller. Happy Rockefeller had prevailed on Betty Ford to tell her husband ‘Gerry, your whole task here has been to heal and to avoid partisan struggles, we can’t have that, you must accept the vote fraud.’ Gerry accepted the vote fraud and the rest is history, Cater came in and turned the government over to Brzezinski and Paul Voolker of the Federal Reserve.”

Numerous theories have persisted in claiming deeper significance to the Watergate scandal than that commonly acknowledged by media and historians:

1) Charles Colson stated in his book Born Again that he was given a report by a White House aide that clearly implicated the CIA in the whole Watergate scandal and showed an attempt to implicate him as the one responsible.

2) In the book The Ends of Power, President Richard Nixon's chief of staff Haldeman claimed that the term 'Bay of Pigs' was used by Nixon as a coded reference to the Kennedy Assassination in White House conversation recorded on the Watergate tapes. This same theory was later referred to in the Oliver Stone Nixon biopic.

3) An alternate theory to the mainstream media account of the Watergate scandal can be found in Silent Coup, a 1991 book by Len Colodny and Robert Gettlin. The two authors believe that it was Nixon's silent war with the Pentagon that ultimately led to his removal from office.

The global elite & the neocons using Bush & Co. as henchmen

to consolidate world power!

I find a striking parallel

I find a striking parallel between Gerald Ford's pardon of Nixon and his role in the Warren Commission. His pardon was to 'heal the country' we are told. It is reasonable to assume that he may have suspected a darker explanation for Kennedy's assassination, but rubber-stamped the Warren Commission's report in order to 'heal the country'.

Justice would have been served in both cases if truth and judicial process were pursued, but Ford opted to 'heal the country'. Now don't get me wrong, I don't believe Ford was a bad or evil man. But I do think he may have gone the easy way out in both situations.

From Wikepedia: In 1963,

From Wikepedia: In 1963, Republican members of the House elected him Minority Leader. During his tenure, President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed Ford to the Warren Commission, a special task force set up to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In 1997 the Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) released a document that revealed that Ford had altered the first draft of the report to read: "A bullet had entered the base of the back of his neck slightly to the right of the spine." Ford had elevated the location of the wound from its true location in the back to the neck to support the single bullet theory.[27] The original first draft of the Warren Commission Report stated that a bullet had entered Kennedy's "back at a point slightly above the shoulder and to the right of the spine." Despite its conclusions, the Commission's work continues to be debated in the public arena.
