seems like this democratic victory has taken the air out of the balloon, some wind out of the sails, perhaps by design.
What I perceive is that the democrats work with the republicans to create the illusions of two sides, kind of like the bears vs the giants - they hate each other on the football field but they're all football players, sometimes they even switch teams (see lieberman, joe)

now that the democrats are in charge, everything's better. at least that's what we're supposed to believe.

meanwhile, more troops will go to iraq (!?). continue the cover ups - from 911 to predatorophilia. continue the vote fraud. continue the corruption. continue spending more on "defense" than the rest of the world combined.

It seems like the democrats are no better in these matters, they sure don't represent the people who voted for them, you know if the shoe was on the other foot they'd be satisfying their masses by ramming an impeachment over NOTHING up Al Gore or John Kerry's ass.

A lawyers' group has asked Germany to sue former US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld over alleged prisoner abuse in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay.
The complaint was filed by the US-based Center for Constitutional Rights on behalf of a Saudi man held in Cuba and 11 Iraqis held in Baghdad.
The Center for Constitutional Rights argues that Mr Rumsfeld was instrumental in abuses committed at Guantanamo Bay and at Abu Ghraib jail in Baghdad.

The group of international lawyers alleges that Mr Rumsfeld personally approved the use of torture to extract information from the prisoners.

Wolfgang Kaleck, the lawyer leading the attempt to bring the case, said former US Army Brig-Gen Janis Karpinski would be the "star witness".

Ms Karpinski was commander of US prisons in Iraq when several prisoners were abused by US soldiers at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib facility.
