Neocons Gunning for Kevin Barrett

What do Dick Cheney's wife, Irving Kristol and Laurence Silberman have in common? They are all arch-neoconservatives (or married to them).

And they have all been working to get Professor Barrett fired from UW and to prevent other 9/11 truthers from teaching.

Check out the names listed on the left-hand side of this letter regarding Professor Barrett, and this letter regarding Professor William Woodward.

I can understand poor Lynne Cheney's involvement: she does not want to see her husband prosecuted as a traitor and war criminal as one of the apparent perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks.

Thanks to Daithi for the heads up.

I'd love to know if Lynne

I'd love to know if Lynne Cheney has read Rubicon.

Who is she to talk about education?

Lynne Cheney is married to the Vice President of the most intellectually corrupt administration. As she well knows, the current administration is susceptible ideologies of the most extreme in nature. They, and the media in general, indoctrinate with ideologies of muslim hatred and violent aggression. This administration has dumbed down our country, slandering scientific inquiry, and instead choosing to appeal to people's base emotions of fear and superiority. They use religion to spread their extreme views to a wider audience.

Lynne Cheney and her group of Anne Coulters should take their rhetoric elsewhere. Would the academics at UW really consider such a vile plea to silence those who exercise academic freedom in the pursuit of worthy inquiries? Does she not realize that she makes herself, and her husband, appear all the more akin to Hitler and Mussolini?

I am confisued about one of

I am confisued about one of your comments about indoctrinate with ideologies of muslim hatred. Are you saying that they try to make us hate Muslims or that they are making up stuff about how certain Muslim extremists hate the US? if it's the former, then I believe they were not careful enough to distinguish between militant extremist Muslims and normal everyday Muslim people. I don't think the government has done a much better job on that distinction, though in the media I did hear Sean Hannity explain that militant Islamists are killing not just Americans, but ALSO Muslims, and that one viable reason that normal Muslim don't speak out in their home countries as much as we'd like them to is due to fear or reprisal.

If it is the latter though, then I don't agree. There is no quesition that there is intense hatred against the US, as evidenced by quotes from Bin Laden and Mullah Omar. Even if you believe, as I do, that US policy plays a big role in this hatred, you cannot deny that it exists and is dangerous.

Prof. William Woodward, as well

They also have targeted Prof. William Woodward of the University of New Hampshire:

I wonder whether ACTA has ever issued a statement on the literary value of Mrs. Cheney's lesbian novel:

Quiet in the Peanut Gallery

I called the American Council of Trustees and Alumni and spoke with the president, Ann D, Neal. After avoiding my questioning of the letter's intent, she did her best to state clearly the intent of the letter. The letter is a petition to UW to make professor Barrett uphold standards of teaching, and the matter which has the Council of Trustees and Alumni up in arms is that they feel discussing 911 is a political standpoint and a professor has no right to push his/her politics in a classroom. I asked her to explain why discussing the many possibilities behind the 911 attacks is definitively a political topic. . I informed her that I was not affiliated with a political party and that I discussed the subject often with both Republicans and Democrats, and all of us agreed that getting the truth about 911 is simply a universal pursuit of justice and truth, and not a political aperatus. She was speechless. The Council holds no merit in claiming that professors discussing 911 are promoting one political agenda or another. And Ann Neal could not deny this. Their campaign is simply harrasment and should be dealt with defensively and legally. Until then, they should keep their politics out of the public's right to know more about any topic.

ACTA is intellectually dishonest

Good show, Greenback!

Perhaps it should be noted to Ms. Neal that an earlier nemesis of ACTA, Ward Churchill, adheres to the same premise about what had happened on September 11th, 2001, as does Mrs. Cheney's husband and that it is intellectually dishonest to suggest comparisons to Professor Barrett and Woodward:

first Chertoff's cousin

first Chertoff's cousin appearing to debunk 9/11 truth for P.M. magazine, now this. Their circle of conspirators seems to be too small so they have no other choice but use their closest relatives - good to hear.

Not sure about Chertoff...

It seems that Benj. Chertoff is denying that he is related to Michael Chertoff.

I haven't been able to determine whether this is true or false.

if it is true, they would do

if it is true, they would do everything they can at this point to make it seem as if its false. im pretty sure Ben Chertoff said something like "he might be a second cousin or something, ive never met him". also, if someone has the prisonplanet.com article, i think his own mother says something like "of course, they are cousins" when asked about it.

the info seems to have

the info seems to have originated from Christopher Bollyn/AFP:

"...Chertoff said he was the "senior researcher" of the piece. When asked if he was related to Michael Chertoff, he said, "I don't know." Clearly uncomfortable about discussing the matter further, he told me that all questions about the article should be put to the publicist - the one who never answers the phone.

Benjamin's mother in Pelham, New York, however, was more willing to talk. Asked if Benjamin was related to the new Secretary of Homeland Security, Judy said, 'Yes, of course, he is a cousin.' ..."

Lieberman was a founding member with Lynn Cheney

I mentioned this before on 9111 blogger and have been trying to bring this up with Lamont Bloggers in my state. It seems they will avoid the political merit of lumping the words Cheney and Lieberman together, in order to avoid bringing up the larger issue of 911 Truth.
