I don't agree with "Peak Oil" and I haven't read this book yet but I'm sure it will do a lot of good in advancing 9/11 truth regardless.

Book sounds interesting but..

If you haven't read it how can you be so sure of it's impact on 9/11 Truth?

This book seems interesting but the PR campaign is sort of fishy. It's like this book is being propped up as gospel before the thing is available to the public. That is scary to me. Why am I being asked to promote a book based name recognition alone?

It all seems a bit much if you ask me. And it's fiction to boot!

No I don't think it's fishy, it's just an attempt to make the book a successes, I mean why do people go on chat shows to plug things? Come on this is a bit ridiculous! I bet he started writing it thinking that he'd need to ask for our help in promoting it and that we'd be sympathetic, it's way too premature and stupid to prejudge the thing so harshly.

The Shell Game

I have read this book., receiving a copy from Steve Alten, the author. It is a solid thriller in its own right and Dr. Jones is spot on when he says it is priceless to the 9/11 Truth movement.

The best thing that can happen to our cause is for it to be a smashing success. Steve had to take it to a new publisher, by inference because his usual publisher - even faced with the prospects of a best seller - was a tad low on testosterone. The new publisher, a smaller firm in Utah, is to be congratulated on its courage (and insight into the income potential for their company).

I will be at B+N when it hits the rack.

I'll probably buy a dozen and give them to key people. I have already announced this in a newsletter I write for my industry...rather out of character considering the focus of my newsletter but I felt compelled.

We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to this courageous man. I just hope he survives the risk, knowing what happened to Michael Ruppert et al.

Peak Oil.

I'm inclined to believe peak oil is a fact based on the approximately 90 million bbl/day consumed for the past number of decades. That's an awful lot of oil.
Yet I try to remain open minded.
I recently purchased "Deep Hot Biosphere, The myth of Fossil Fuels" to better understand alternative theories.
And I have been receiving the ASPO newsletter since I took interest in the subject a few years ago.

I believe this to be a very legitimate source for info on this subject.
For me the key is to make my judgments based on the available verifiable evidence, just as I did with 9/11.
The other suspicious thing is, as we all know, the "war on terror" is at least partly a war for oil.

Hey, whatever it takes

Hey, whatever it takes (that's legal, non-violent and truthful) . . . I pre-ordered 10 copies last week on Amazon, and if it's the page-turner it's claimed to be, I'll buy more to give to friends and family and strangers who "can't go there" . . .

Here's an analogy that just came to mind: The builder who built my house 8 years ago was a naturalist (not a naked "naturist") . . . He wanted all "pure" materials in his houses. His good intentions have forced us to replace ALL the leaking wood (3rd generation, no doubt) windows in our house this year with vinyl clad/wood windows which look great and will get the job done . . .

This book appears so far to be credible with many of the prominent and respected members of the 9/11 Truth Movement as signatories . . .

Give truth a chance, even in fictionalized form . . . let's not cut off our nose to spite our face . . . : )

How Can Someone Who Wants A New 9/11 Investigation ATTACK THIS?

The above poster who attacks "The Shell Game" because it's fiction, must not be much of a reader of social history.

Ever heard of "1984," and a fiction novelist named "GEORGE ORWELL"?????

1984 woke up millions to how govt.s lie to and manipulate their people. "The Shell Game" offers America the same benefit.

Folks, if you are new to 9/11 truth issues, let me give you a primer. You will find two kinds of posters on these blogs.

1) The ones tearing everyone else apart when they do something that can truly break 9/11 truth into the mainstream. You'll get to know them because they work full time on it.

2) Those who do everything they can to get more people demanding a 9/11 investigation.

"The Shell Game" and New York Times best selling author, Steve Alten, although dealing with Parkinson's disease cares about the world enough to be in the #2 catagory.

As far as posters who attack this courageous author who's put EVERYTHING on the line to demand 9/11 truth through his popular work, . . . I think you'll see where those posters fit. If the shoe fits . . .

Do the world and the truth movement a favor, encourage all you know to get "The Shell Game."

I believe a big part of the skepticism surrounding this book is justified. First, it's purely fiction. I understand your argument about 1984 but still disagree that we can conclude this book is absolutely positive for 9/11 Truth.

When was 1984 published? The book 1984 was published in the late 1940's. I think 9/11 Truthers are looking something a little more 'non-fictional' and immediate. A work of fiction, I don't believe, is what we need.

Second, the way in which this book is being aggressively crammed into 9/11 Truth and into our faces is a little uncomfortable to say the least. Out of nowhere...bam! And the way in which the debate is being framed is alarming.

From my observations, I'm getting the feeling that you are either...

"With the Shell Game and good 9/11 Truthers (the #2 9/11 Truth you describe above)

"Your with the bad 9/11 Truthers (the #1 911 Truth you describe above)

And if that don't tickle your fancy and get your credit card swipin' then I'm being told that all these big names are on board. OMG STEPHEN JONES IS ON BOARD!!!!!

So what? The book isn't even available and there is a 'us against them' debate raging. It doesn't make sense to me. Over a book that hardly anyone has read? No disrespect to you or the author but it seems a bit artificial. and I believe that the way it's been played out justifies any sort of skepticism it receives.

Lastly, when you described to two types of 9/11 truth posters on this site I think you forgot the obvious potential for disinformation to be spread by 9/11 Truthers who made it into your 'good truthers' group. Most people see that reality and it causes skepticism towards this book and any other for that matter.

Skepticism is not always an attack.

And a down vote on this blog is not an attack. It just means that someone probably disagrees with the way this book is being pushed.

You mean to say these "2 types of posters" - the good and the bad one - are defined by wheter they support this book or not?
I for one would certainly also like to read it first, to make up my own mind about it.
And to those folks "new to 911 truth issues" , i can only suggest to do the same.

Im afraid but your post sounds just a bit too much like 'you are either with Steve Alten or you are a bad truther'.

Blow the House Down.

Blow the House Down was a novel by CIA Agent Robert Baer that attempted to fictionalize the accounts of 9/11. Hopefully these books reach a new audience that will be spurned to take action to educate people and elected officials about false flag terrorism realities.

Yes, fiction can reach an audience that won't pick up a leaflet.

This particular work of fiction, has real quotes from real 9/11 researchers, that lead the reader to understand we've been lied to about 9/11.

These are facts that COULD reach millions of new eyes, if the movement, meaning all those who want a new 9/11 investigation, encourage vast readership of "The Shell Game."

I just, personally, can't believe that anyone who really wants a groundswell of mass demand for a new 9/11 investigation could be opposed to another avenue to engage the masses.

It just doesn't smell right to me, personally.

I hope all will do whatever they can to get as many people as possible to read "The Shell Game."

This author is a successful best selling novelist. He has NOTHING to gain from sticking his neck out.

He has Parkinson's Disease which is exasperated by stress. He has nothing to gain and everything to lose.

I, personally, think that those attacking him for trying to do something good for our world, is beneath contempt.

I think all of you out there who really want to create a mass movement for 9/11 truth, will know in your hearts that Steve Alten has given us a great gift, and will honor it by creating a groundswell of readership to drive this book to #1.

While 9/11 Blogger is a 9/11 forum, I suggest to anyone involved with this movement to confront the reality of Peak Oil. I find it difficult that one can so righteously believe that 9/11 was an inside job, and yet be 'agnostic', or worse yet, dismissive (as some are) of Peak Oil. Oil production, I believe most of us can agree, is a MAJOR piece of the 9/11 Wars puzzle. I'll run the risk of some negative points on this comment to voice my support of Peak Oil 'theories' and my encouragement to investigate this very real possibility.

Secondly, while I agree that this book could be a boost for the movement, I too have to be suspicious of it being shoved into the fore of this blog/movement. While it could be a great gift for the movement, I have to admit a little sympathy with some of the voices on here suggesting that maybe it's being pushed too aggressively, especially by BillDouglas. He comes off as the publisher or something. Really, why is this poster so willing to divvy up the 911Blogger community into an 'us' and 'them' - those that support this book (of fiction that none of us have seen or read yet), and everyone else? I encourage NO DIVISION.

I gave this poster some support a couple of posts ago, and agree with most of his points, but his derisiveness and aggression in pushing this book, is not only unnecessary, but starting to wear a little thin.

Those things said, thanks for your work, and yes of course I will read this book when it comes out.

Just like 9/11 evidence,

it is required to study a bit before mocking or rejecting. I am disappointed at at the mocking and attacks on personal religious faith in comments here.

I am reading the book and it is quite useful IMO. I loaned my copy to my daughter who is a professional librarian and avid reader -- she is (now) a confirmed 9/11 truther and gave the book a very high recommendation both for the writing and for the content.

Have you read it (or are you reading it)?

Implications that the official story are incorrect are more important, IMO than "peak oil" arguments. The book will open opportunities for media exposure of solid 9/11 research... We should prepare to UNITEDLY make use of this publicity to challenge the official story. (Rather than tearing each other down... .)

Just kidding, Professor -- but I hope you do realize that the vast majority of us do not have access to this book -- its December publication was delayed and it is not available in stores or online. The strident tones of some people demanding that we push it BEFORE we have read it is unreasonable. When we have pointed out that this impatience is unreasonable, the heavy-duty invective comes out next -- we're engaging in "character assassination" and so forth for wanting to read the book firstbefore we endorse it. That's nuts.

This above post is misleading

For those advocating this book, I have not seen the invective the poster mentioned. I have seen brutal attacks on anyone who supports "The Shell Games"s promise as a 9/11 truth tool.

Take all the time you need to evaluate, but if you look back through these threads you'll see pretty visious attacks on proponents of "The Shell Game," and not the other way around.

If I bristled at those attacks its because Steve Alten has laid much on the line to write this book, and is dealing with Parkinson's, so to see his integrity thrashed by people who haven't read "The Shell Game" was too much for me to just sit back and allow.
