Actor Charlie Sheen was booked into the Pitkin County Jail on felony domestic violence charges today, authorities in Aspen said.

Aspen police were summoned by a 9-1-1 to a home at 320 West Hallam St. near downtown at about 11:20 a.m..

A unnamed "victim did not require transport to the hospital," according to a statement from police.

The home at that address is for sale for $7.45 million, but the owner's name is not listed, according to real estate records.

Sheen married 29-year old real estate investor and actress Brooke Mueller last year and she gave birth to twins, Max and Bob, in March.

Booked into the county lockup under his real name, Carlos Irwin Estevez, Sheen was arrested on charges of felony second-degree assault, felony menacing and a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff's Department. His hometown was listed as Encino, Calif.

He has an $8,500 bond but must remain in jail until his first court appearance, a standard procedure, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Department.

Sheen, 44, is the star of the TV show "Two and a Half Men" and a prolific movie actor whose credits include "Platoon," "Wall Street" and "Major League." He is a commercial spokesman for Hanes Underwear, sometimes opposite basketball legend Michael Jordan.

The younger Sheen's relationships have been tabloid fodder before, including a bitter divorce and custody battle with actress Denise Richards in 2006.

In 1990, he was living with actress Kelly Preston, now the wife of John Travolta, when he accidentally shot in her in the arm in their apartment. The wound needed only a few stitches, and the relationship ended soon after,

In 1998 Sheen was hospitalized after he overdosed when he injected cocaine and entered rehab afterward.

He fueled gossip magazines in the late 1990s when he dated legendary porn stars Ginger Lynn and Heather Hunter.

Sheen has five children: two sons with Mueller, two daughters with Richards and a 25-year-old daughter, Cassandra Jade Estevez, he had with former girlfriend Paula Profit.

Sheen is the son of actor Martin Sheen and the brother of actor Emilio Estevez.
