Whoops!

We've got a new website, over at Manchester Brewing! As usually happens, I forgot to post for a few months. The Studly Monk is aging well. I'm planning a new edition soon, which will have a higher ABV and more orange.

The John Thomas Red and Conspiracy Theory Oatmeal Stout are in the tank. We have a bottling machine on the way, so hopefully sometime this week these two will get into bottles, then become available the following week. The Alt Cntrl Delete is due after that.

Notes on the names:

The John Thomas Red is a very Monty Python kind of name. See if you can guess whose photo that is on the label! We're kind of fond of bad jokes around here, doncha know.

"Thoughts for the President’s Consideration” (Civil War): United States first contrived ‘black-op’?

I'd read an account of circumstances surrounding the "Thoughts for the President’s Consideration” memo several years ago but did not make a connection to 9/11. Having researched this further, here is one essay as a point of discussion in the 9/11 community and at large.
PS for those who have followed the historic parallels between Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy, it is uncanny that Operation Northwoods was also presented to the 35th administration.

For those concerned about current events

and place stock in divine visions, here is a reported vision by founding father George Washington that claimed the United States would face it's most serious, third crisis in the future, yet it's citizens emerge free.

GEORGE WASHINGTON'S REMARKABLE VISION

NOTE: The following was originally published by Wesley Bradshaw in the National Review, Vol. 4, No. 12, December 1880.

The last time I ever saw Anthony Sherman was on July 4, 1859, in Independence Square. He was then 99 years old, and becoming very feeble. But though so old, his dimming eyes rekindled as he gazed upon Independence Hall, which he came to visit once more. "Let us go into the hall," he said. "I want to tell you an incident of Washington's life -- one which no one alive knows of except myself; and if you live, you will before long, see it verified."

"From the opening of the Revolution we experienced all phases of fortune, now good and now ill; one time victorious and another conquered. The darkest period we had, I think, was when Washington, after several reverses, retreated to Valley Forge, where he resolved to spend the winter of 1777.

Nationalizing Media

Hypothesis: I've been wondering if nationalizing media agencies would open free speech & information

Premise: currently, the media appears to be corporatized (profit controlling the individual) rather than nationalized (public monitoring the public ~4th estate) and vital issues ignored or distorted

Argument: if each citizen supervised (not own) a quota in news agencies, would that encourage competition, form a sort of 'checks & balance' system ["information of, for & by the people"] and adjust the 'bottom' line' of commercial media trusts?

Points:
1) information seems to serve a different function than property in a free market
2) it seems there's a difference between socializing, corporatizing and nationalizing something; the state or company taking from individuals vs. the public monitored by the public

Case: it seems that the founding fathers trusted that the most enlightened agent in the public is the citizen; an ideal complement to correctly restraining the power of government.

The Art of Debate

After spending September 11, 2008 at Ground Zero and engaging various members of the public on subject of 9/11, I thought to share a few common points of informal debate that frequently ensued on the street.
It is interesting to note that logical hazards can occur on either side of deliberation and that a refined understanding of an issue is traditionally considered to be the prime objective.
Those more educated in polemics, please feel free to correct and inform the thread. Please also note that I’ve marked arguments as [counter and (mutual per 9/11 skepticism.
Finally, although I believe our discussions are of civic and intellectual value, it would seem that that the most effective method of understanding the events of 9/11 is through a trial subject to due process in court.
Cheers,
MG

DEBATE

Definition: formal method of suppositional argument, including rules and appeals to reach agreement on an issue

What I Heard LAX Security Officials Say During the 9/11 Attacks

I was surprised to have read the following entry on 911truth.org but not on Blogger; I assume it is acceptable to accredit the author/editor and post accordingly. If a number of airline personnel acknowledge 9/11 as an 'inside job', I would ask them to participate in our public vigils.

May 10th monthly vigil, Philadelphia

Some (camera-phone) shots from our day out in Rittenhouse Square. A first to be joined by sympathetic buskers (and among the Cirque de Soleil street performers)!

Monthly Vigil, Philadelphia

A single camera-phone photo during an outreach by Philly 9/11 Truth on South Street in Philadelphia, on 1/12/08. A positive response overall and cheers to the many inquiries & discussions.

Philadelphia 9/11 monthly vigil

A few shots from Philadelphia's busy South Street: public response? A positive day all around.

More Family Guy and 9/11

Unsure if this is a rerun--new to me as of this past Sunday.

5/11-07 Philadelphia

More pictures from different events/demonstrations of the day in Philadelphia, including an increasing body of participants, in and around City Hall.

4/11-07

A shot at Philadelphia's Independence Mall on the April 11th demonstration by Temple 9/11 Truth. Overall, a strong reception on the day..
