Hero of 9/11 Won't Stop Speaking Out Against Bush - thisisdevon.co.uk

One minute he was going about his business, the next he was looking at a vision from the depths of hell. Still reeling from a blast which rocked the World Trade Center, William Rodriguez could hardly believe what he was seeing."A man came running into the office shouting 'explosion, explosion!'" Mr Rodriguez soon saw a third of his body had been badly burnt by the blast. "When I realised, I started screaming. I looked at his face and it was missing parts."

It was the start of a day that transformed Mr Rodriguez from a maintenance man to the hero of 9/11. He ran back into the crumbling tower three times, and helped save hundreds of people.

For Mr Rodriguez, a native of Puerto Rico, swears his ordeal began before the first plane hit the Twin Towers. He claims that the White House failed to act, and accuses the government of being involved in "sponsored terrorism" in a bid to find a motive to invade Iraq. He brought his argument to a Westcountry audience on Wednesday, when he spoke in Torquay as part of the Global Truth movement.

It was while he was in basements of the North Tower that Mr Rodriguez says he felt an explosion from below. "It was so hard that it shook the foundations of the building and the walls cracked," he said. "The ceiling fell on top of us."

Mr Rodriguez, 45, had worked in the building for 20 years, and survived the 1993 bomb blast. As the sprinkler system came on, he was mentally transported back. It was only then that he claims he heard the sound of the first plane hitting the tower, at 8.46am. "It came from far away - all the way at the top of the building," he said.

The final straw came when he was asked to give a public address on why Iraq should be invaded. "I said no - 9/11 was nothing to do with Iraq. I helped organise the families, and we voted against the President using us for his political motive. That's when the thrust changed, and the invasion suddenly became about weapons of mass destruction."

But Mr Rodriguez continues to speak out. Once a prominent magician, he said: "The 9/11 attacks are just an illusion. It never happened in the way they say. It's all manufactured to give the impression that it happened like that."

In the five years since 9/11, a growing number of Americans have become convinced that the World Trade Center was brought down by a deliberate act of demolition carried out by the U.S. government. The so-called 9/11 conspiracy movement is growing larger by the day, aided and abetted by the work of filmmakers like Sofia, a San Diego-area director who prefers we only use her first name. Sofia’s film, 9/11 Mysteries, which screens in Newport Beach on Thursday, Nov. 2, is the first installment of a planned four-part series of feature-length documentaries alleging that the 9/11 attacks were an elaborate ruse designed to bolster public support for a prefabricated war on terror.

This movie focuses not on the hijackings but on the collapse of the Twin Towers, showing relentless footage of the falling buildings side by side with archival shots of actual demolitions. It’s a technique highly reminiscent of Oliver Stone’s incessant use of the Zapruder film in JFK: “Back and to the right, back and to the right . . . ” and while intriguing, fails to offer much in the way of actual proof. JFK might have been completely wrong but it did force the government to release thousands of classified files that have helped shed light on some of the darker chapters of U.S. history.

In that vein, whatever really happened on 9/11—and after two viewings we’re still convinced it was the work of highly motivated, highly evil hijackers—9/11 Mysteries is worth viewing if only to challenge one’s own assumptions and, hopefully, lead to greater discussion of the tragedy and more accountability from our government. I recently spoke with Sofia about her film and why so many people, including herself, are willing to give bin Laden a pass for toppling the towers.

How did you get the idea to make a documentary about 9/11?

It all began with a pilot I knew who flew Boeings for 30 years. He was watching TV that day and he said you have no idea how hard it is to fly a plane into the buildings like that; the G-forces are too high, and the plane’s wingspan is 175 feet and the building itself is only 200 feet wide. When we drive a car into a telephone pole, that is easy—but planes can’t be maneuvered as easily. The guidance for a plane has to be done slowly. The way the planes veered into the Pentagon is under question. The suggestion here is that the planes were controlled by remote and remote controlled aviation has been available for 30 years. He said there is no way he could have done that with 30 years’ experience flying planes.

It would be refreshing to find somebody who doesn't agree with 9/11 conspiracy theories (so-called) who was willing to debate them in a civil way. And I don't mean the editors of Popular Mechanics, either. Perhaps the civil ones are changing their minds? One such is Bill Christison, the distinguished former CIA analyst and popular author of progressive political essays. Within the past year Bill has changed his mind about 9/11, from rejecting conspiracy theories outright to thinking that the standard story is not what it seems. In this conversation we talk a lot about what happens when one rethinks something like 9/11, less about the facts in question. “A Total Rollback Of Everything This Country Has Stood For”: Sen. Patrick Leahy Blasts Congressional Approval of Detainee Bill - democracynow.org

I caught this interview with Senator Patrick Leahy on Friday regarding the approval of the new detainee bill. At one point in the show Amy Goodman asks Leahy how anything would be different if the democrats were back in power since some of them actually voted for the detainee bill. In response to this question Leahy points out that at least then questions would be rasied, and he made the following very interesting statement:

The two questions that the congress will not ask, because republicans wont allow it, is why did 9/11 happen on George Bush's watch when he had clear warnings that it was going to happen? Why did they allow it to happen? And secondly, when they had Osama Bin Laden cornered why didnt they get him? Had there been an independent congress, one that could ask questions these questions would have been asked years ago..

Q: ¾ a year before this maneuver the alleged hijacker Atta practiced three hours in a simulator of a Boeing 727....

There are basic differences between a 727 and 757 / 767’s. 757 and 767 were constructed decades later and are designed for 2 instead for three people in the cockpit; the computers in the 757 / 767 replace the flight engineer ( the third person ) which shows the fundamental differences of the instruments. Even the primary flight instruments are of a new generation. The data is shown on screens and not conventional clock-like instruments you have in a 727. Also you have to check to what extend a Boeing 727-simulator (old plane) is equipped with modern visual systems (modern technique) allowing to practice such crashes as we saw on 9/11 (WTC) and visual flight maneuvers in general.

To sum it up: Atta and his allies must have been real cracks to fly such a complex maneuver with so little practice. Also I find it very interesting that all four planes were 757’s or 767’s which all have identical cockpits. This suggests that the hijackers or whoever else found something very useful in these specific airplane models fitting extremely well in their 9/11 plans.

Q: In all four cases the armed hijackers allegedly gained controll over the planes and the cockpits in a flash. So quick that the pilots neither could send a radio message nor acould type an emergency code into transponder. Is this plausible ?

As far as I know there were very strict procedures regulating the cockpit-access. I can not rule out that hijackers can surprise a pilot in perhaps one situation that he can not send an emergency signal...but four times simultaneously? I can not imagine that at all.

Q: What training and practical experience would you assume for a pilot to fly such a maneuver perfectly? According to witness testimonies from the flight schools the hijackers could not even control small Cessnas.

It’s hard for me to answer that; After all previously said things I can say for sure that the 9/11 maneuvers were challenging, even for commercial airline pilots flying these types of aircraft regularly. But I have also already seen non-pilots in the full-flight-simulator that could fly certain maneuvers with surprising precision after long virtual training. Definetely the hijackers would have had to train a lot theoretically (system knowledge) and practically (flight simulator ). When I now hear that they could hardly control a Cessna it’s hard for me to imagine they were in control of the planes on 9/11.

Q: Until today there is no aircraft accident examination report by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) abaout the four airline catastrophes of 9/11. How do you review that ?

Obviously the official [..?] do not want the public to know what really happened. Most questions could certainly be cleared out if the given data would be analyzed and made public. In this connection I would like to remind how wreckages of other accidents at the most inhospitable places have been found and analyzed and provided an answer.

Independent filmmaker John Albanese, producer of the film “Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime,” will be appearing on the FoxNews channel on Sunday September 10th at 10:00pm EST on “The Big Story” with David Asman.

Albanese will be discussing his film, as well as the recent revelations by several of the 9/11 Commissioners that they considered filing criminal charges against NORAD for knowingly providing inaccurate information to the commission.

Unquestioned Answers - Nonconspiracy theorist David Ray Griffin takes aim at the official 9/11 story

ABOUT 10 years ago, I was asked to perform comedy at a conference I quickly dubbed "the Paranoids Conference." Each presenter had a dark tale to tell of abductions, drug running, assassinations and other nefarious horrors too terrible to mention. There were whispers of government agents in our midst, so when it was my turn to perform, I said I was with the CIA. I paused while the audience gasped. "That's the Comedians Institute of America." It got a laugh, but no amount of laughter could counterbalance the toxicity of the atmosphere. I couldn't wait to leave.

Fast-forward to a sunny Sunday afternoon early last year when I found myself in Santa Rosa's Church of the Rose to hear Dr. David Ray Griffin, author of a book on the 9/11 attacks called The New Pearl Harbor, as well as The 9-11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions. Griffin, a soft-spoken retired professor of theology with sandy, graying hair, proceeded to calmly and quietly dismantle the official 9/11 story. The room was filled to standing with people of all ages, many of whom attended the church. As Griffin made his case for how the official story could never have happened the way they said it did, I looked around me. Everyone was riveted, and yet I could detect no fear, no paranoia in the room.

People were hearing his message—the essentials of which are that our government likely knew about or had something to do with the 9/11 attacks—and yet there was something about his delivery that was reassuring. I've heard David Ray Griffin twice since then, once at a small gathering of world government advocates, the other time at the prestigious Commonwealth Club in San Francisco. Each event had a similar ambience: a calm, thoughtful, scholarly presentation without the least hint of sensationalism or personal glory.

Whatever one's assumption of what a "conspiracy theorist" is like, David Ray Griffin doesn't fit the mold, perhaps because he's really a nonconspiracy theorist. While he methodically deconstructs the official story, he doesn't spin his own alternative yarn to fill the vacuum. Instead, he allows audience members to draw their own conclusions. As for conspiracy theories, he explains, "the official story is itself a conspiracy theory. As the accepted 'conspiracy theory' goes, a cadre of Al Qaeda operatives conspired to hijack four jetliners, did so undetected and were able to complete their mission with no interception or even interference from the best-prepared air force on the face of the earth."'
