Big media and the lies they tell

| | | | | | | | | |

Unspun Newz explores the dangers posed by corporate controlled media deception and propaganda. This report focuses on major cases of media deception such as, the now famous, Monsanto rBGH growth hormone case where FOX News actually fought for and won the right to lie on the news. The report also details ABCs false reports about anthrax and how ABCs Brian Ross tried to link the anthrax attacks in 2001 to Iraq. The report further explores the corporate media blackout on the recently released scientific evidence proving that high tech explosives were used to demolish the world trade center on 9/11. Unspun highlights how media lies impact public health and how they were used to mislead the people into supporting war and how those deceptions have affected us and our troops.

FBI to Pay $880,000 for Review of its Anthrax 'Genetic and Chemical Studies'

| |

"The FBI will pay the Washington-based society nearly $880,000 for the independent, 15-month committee review of the genetic and chemical studies investigators used to link Ivins to the attacks, academy spokeswoman Jennifer Walsh said."

How "independent" can this review be, when they're accepting $880,000 from from the same organization (the FBI) that did the "investigation" they're reviewing? The NAS was established by Congress:

Rush Holt, a "representative" who's trying a 3rd time to institutionalize electronic vote-stealing machines, introduced legislation in March 09 for a "9/11 Commission-style" investigation into the Anthrax attacks. http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2009/03/04/anthrax/print.html

Fort Detrick disease samples may be missing

| | | | | | |

Fort Detrick is where, some people believe AIDS virus was 'created' and had some connection with that anthrax incidents happened right after 9/11.

Don't know what kind of 'samples' are missing this time...
But surely, this is not a good news.

Will this investigation achieve its goal?
Or will it fail just like the 9/11 Commission and so many others?

Congressman Holt Introduces Anthrax Commission Legislation - Modeled After 9/11 Commission

| |

http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2009/03/congressman-holt-introduce...

Congressman Holt wants an anthrax investigation modeled on the 9/11 Commission.

Senators Leahy and White house want a torture investigation modeled on the 9/11 Commission.

But - according to the 9/11 Commission itself - the whole thing was a joke:

Sandia National Laboratories Test Exonerates Bruce Ivins

Sandia National Laboratories Test Exonerates Ivins ~ We need to be the Media on this story. Spread it to all politically inclined contacts.

While government apologists are still trying to pretend there is a case that Bruce Ivins was the anthrax killer, tests by Sandia National Laboratories have exonerated him.

As the publisher of the prestigious scientific journal Nature writes:

At a biodefence meeting on 24 February, Joseph Michael, a materials scientist at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, presented analyses of three letters sent to the New York Post and to the offices of Senators Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy. Spores from two of those show a distinct chemical signature that includes silicon, oxygen, iron, and tin; the third letter had silicon, oxygen, iron and possibly also tin, says Michael. Bacteria from Ivins' RMR-1029 flask did not contain any of those four elements.

Anthrax spores don't match dead researcher's samples

Revealed: Anthrax spore testing undermines FBI claim ~ http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Anthrax_spores_dont_match_dead_researchers...

Poisonous anthrax that killed five Americans in the weeks after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks doesn't match bacteria from a flask linked to Bruce Ivins, the researcher who committed suicide after being implicated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a scientist said.

Spores used in the deadly mailings ``share a chemical 'fingerprint' that is not found in the flask linked to Bruce Ivins,'' wrote Roberta Kwok citing Joseph Michael, a scientist at the Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Michael analyzed letters sent to the New York Post and offices of Senators Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy, and found a distinct "chemical signature" not present in the flask known as RMR-1029, which Ivins could access in his laboratory at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

Portrait Emerges of Anthrax Suspect’s Troubled Life
By SCOTT SHANE

FREDERICK, Md. — Inside the Army laboratory at Fort Detrick, the government’s brain for biological defense, Bruce Edwards Ivins paused to memorialize his moment in the spotlight as the anthrax panic of 2001 reached its peak.

Dr. Ivins titled his e-mail message “In the lab” and attached photographs: the gaunt microbiologist bending over Petri dishes of anthrax, and colonies of the deadly bacteria, white commas against blood-red nutrient.

Outside, on that morning of Nov. 14, 2001, five people were dead or dying, a dozen more were sick and fearful thousands were flooding emergency rooms. The postal system was crippled; senators and Supreme Court justices had fled contaminated offices. And the Federal Bureau of Investigation was struggling with a microbe for a murder weapon and a crime scene that stretched from New York to Florida.

Search warrants show FBI suspicion in anthrax case
http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSTRE4AP7CN20081126

By Andy Sullivan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Army scientist who was wrongly targeted in the FBI's anthrax investigation attracted suspicion because of his knowledge of the deadly toxin, according to recently released court records.

FBI agents focused on Steven Hatfill after the deadly 2001 anthrax attacks because he had access to the building where anthrax was stored and described in an unpublished novel how an attack could take place, according to search warrants released on Tuesday by the U.S. District Court in Washington.

The FBI investigated Hatfill for years, but he was never charged. The Justice Department agreed in June to pay him $5.85 million to settle his lawsuit claiming government officials had violated his privacy rights.

Scientific impossibility: Did FBI get their man in Bruce Ivins?

Scientific impossibility: Did FBI get their man in Bruce Ivins?
By Deborah Rudacille
Examiner Correspondent 11/16/08

Bruce Ivins was a cold-blooded murderer, a deranged psycho-killer, who in the fall of 2001, cooked up a virulent batch of powdered anthrax, drove to Princeton, N.J., and mailed letters loaded with the lethal mix to five news organizations and two U.S. senators.

At least, that’s what the FBI says.

The letters infected 22 people, killing five, including two Maryland postal workers.

The sixth victim of the madness was Ivins himself, a 62-year-old biodefense researcher at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, who committed suicide rather than face charges.

Case closed? Neatly wrapped up? Not so fast.

The FBI is going to get away with pinning it on Ivins

| | | | | | |

The FBI (Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity, ha!) was tasked by our shadow government overlords with finding a semi-plausible fall guy for the anthrax attacks of 2001. These overlords engineered both the attacks of 9/11, and the anthrax attacks that followed, to create a pretext for a police state in the USA, as well as a semi-plausible pretext for invading Afghanistan and Iraq.

The FBI has pinned it on the late Dr. Bruce Ivins, but almost nobody believes it. For the past two days FBI director Mueller, looking like the cat that ate the canary, has been appearing before the Senate and House to answer questions.

Glenn Greenwald wrote about both events in Salon. Based on his account, I feel certain that the FBI is going to get away with it.

Salon Magazine's Glenn Greenwald interviewed FBI critic Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) on August 20.
Excerpt:

"GG: Speaking of that, on August 7th, just a couple weeks ago, you wrote a letter to Attorney General Mukasey, and FBI Director Mueller, in which you stated:
This has been a long investigation, full of missteps and mistakes. There's been too much secrecy up to this point, and it deserves a full and thorough vetting. There are clearly a lot of unanswered questions, and it's time to start a dialog so we get answers.

Article by Erik Larson

The 2001 Anthrax Attacks Timeline at HistoryCommons.org (aka CooperativeResearch.org) has been moved from The Complete 9/11 Timeline to the main Timelines page, and updated with the recent developments regarding the FBI’s Anthrax investigations. New entries include the clearing of Steven Hatfill, the death of Bruce Ivins and the FBI’s case against him, and the objections and questions being raised by experts, mainstream media and critics, and members of Congress. The 2001 Anthrax Attacks Timeline now has nearly 200 unique entries, and like all the Timelines at HistoryCommons.org, it will continue to grow as new and old information comes out.

The FBI's Mail-Sorting Theory Doesn't Add Up

http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2008/09/fbis-mail-sorting-theory-d...

The FBI claims that mail-sorting equipment crushed the killer anthrax in the letters to Senators Daschle and Leahy down to a fine powder.

Is that possible?

Well, the anthrax spores in the Daschle letter were 1.5 to 3 microns, according to the Washington Post. See also (this).

There are 25,400 microns in an inch.

Congressman and Physiologist: FBI Theory that Mail-Sorting Machines Crushed Anthrax to a Fine Powder "Patently Ridiculous"

http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2008/09/congressman-and-physiologi...

The anthrax in the letters to Leahy and Daschle was ground into an extremely fine powder. As USA Today noted:

The finely prepared Daschle-letter spores ... were ground so fine that they apparently drifted across offices and contaminated other letters in the mail.

World’s Top Anthrax Experts Say The Killer Anthrax was Weaponized

Some of the top anthrax experts in the world say that the killer anthrax was weaponized:

The Government as Wizard of Oz in Anthrax and 9/11 Investigations. . . "Don't Look at the Man Behind the Curtain"

|

http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2008/09/governments-scientific-arg...

As top independent anthrax experts, physicists, engineers and architects confirm, the government makes claims in the anthrax and 9/11 investigations but does not provide the details which would allow the claims to be independently tested by scientists not affiliated with the government. At the end of the day, the government is simply begging us - like the Wizard of Oz - not to look at the man behind the curtain.

Anthrax

The government admits that Dr. Bruce Ivins passed 2 lie detector tests, that hair samples and handwriting samples don't implicate him, and that there is no direct evidence linking him to the anthrax murders.

Ivins Didn't Do It

| |

from: http://wwplanet.blogspot.com/2008/09/ivins-didnt-do-it.html

Ivins Didn't Do It

Bruce Ivins is not responsible for the 2001 anthrax letter attacks. How can I be so sure? Because the facts say he didn’t do it. Let’s examine the FBI’s “evidence” against Ivins:
Using a new process, the anthrax material has been genetically traced to the beaker (the murder weapon, as the FBI calls it) that Dr. Ivins controlled. Sounds convincing, doesn’t it? Sounds like there’s undisputable scientific evidence that points to Ivins, right? However, this new genetic tracing process has never been peer reviewed. This means it has never been objectively tested. No independent scientist has reproduced the kind of accuracy that the FBI is claiming. Beyond the FBI saying it works, there is no evidence that it does work. Had there been a trial, this vaunted genetic evidence against Ivins would have crumbled under cross-examination. With the genetic evidence gone, the link to Ivins’ lab and to the “murder weapon” beaker is gone.

Insights Into the Question of Whether the Anthrax was Weaponized

http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2008/09/insights-into-question-of-...

Remember how the FBI was instructed to blame the Anthrax attacks on Al Qaeda by White House officials in 2001?

Well, according to Washington Post reporter and Assistant Managing Editor for Investigations at The Washington Post Marilyn Thompson, the US government ordered Fort Detrick's USAMRIID bioweapons facility to "tone down" its description of the Daschle anthrax as "weaponized."

Moreover, scientists originally found that an electrical charge and high-tech silicon-coating were added to the killer anthrax to make it more lethal. As pointed out by anthrax expert Dr. Meryl Nass:

Ivins' Colleague Says He Was Murdered

|

http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2008/09/colleague-of-ivins-says-he...

Dr. Ayaad Assaad, who worked in the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease lab at Fort Detrick from 1989 to 1997, was interviewed yesterday by the Frederick News Post (the local paper in the area of Fort Detrick).

Dr. Assaad said of Ivins:

"He's a great man. He's honorable, sincere, honest and most important, he didn't kill five people and he didn't kill himself".

If Ivins didn't kill himself, that can only mean that he was murdered.
