A Hoffman Estates writer who says he has been targeted by authorities because of his views was convicted Tuesday on charges stemming from a confrontation last summer with police outside his home.
Christopher Bollyn, 50, was found guilty of misdemeanor aggravated assault and resisting arrest after a four-day trial in the Rolling Meadows branch of Cook County Circuit Court.
Jurors deliberated about two hours before returning the verdict.
Bollyn, who has written for several Web sites and has claimed that Israeli agents were involved in the World Trade Center attack on Sept. 11, 2001, called police Aug. 15 to report a suspicious car in his neighborhood. The car was an unmarked squad with three tactical unit officers, and authorities said the officers pulled into Bollyn's driveway in the 200 block of Kingman Lane to identify themselves.
The officers testified that Bollyn became belligerent and that they tackled him and used a stun gun to subdue him after he told them he was going into his house to get "reinforcements."
Bollyn, a onetime candidate for mayor of Hoffman Estates, said the officers never identified themselves.
During closing arguments, defense lawyer Paul Moreschi said it was difficult to know for sure what happened but told jurors that the "militaristic appearance" of the officers disturbed Bollyn.
"To contend that these officers -- armed with guns, bullet-proof vests, a Taser, pepper spray and batons -- that they were somehow afraid of this guy in a Hawaiian shirt, standing next to his wife and daughter, is ridiculous," Moreschi said.
But prosecutors argued that the three men showed their badges and wore gear that clearly identified them as Hoffman Estates police officers.
"This defense is ridiculous," said James Pontrelli, an assistant state's attorney. "Even the defendant's wife testified that one of the officers 'showed me a shiny, little badge.' "
Pontrelli said after the verdict that Bollyn's claims of a conspiracy linked to his writings "was too hard of a story to sell to the jury."
Bollyn declined to talk to reporters afterward, except to say, "I just got found guilty, and I maintain my innocence."
Sentencing is scheduled for June 25.

Bollyn has revealed more new information and done more research than anyone else in this movement, and yet he's found guilty in court and there's no one in the movement supporting him. Bollyn was assaulted on his own property by a police goon squad which is more, much more, than ever happened to Alex Jones or Jack Blood combined. Alex Jones just grumbles all f-ing day, sells his videos for profit, and doesn't make any new discoveries while Bollyn writes hard-hitting factual articles, gets tasered on his lawn in front of his family, and is now going to jail. Alex Jones grumbles that the police state is here citing a school child who gets suspended for pretending he has a gun, and doesn't even mention the most illustrative instance of that new police state which is what happened to Christopher Bollyn on his own property at night by plainclothes masked policemen. Shame on Alex Jones' phoney fury and empty rhetoric, and on truthers who should have given this more attention than it has received.

to be fair, Alex did cover it a little bit(if only a link to Rense). but i agree, he hasnt done a good enough job on it overall. i dont know if its personal or not, but Alex needs to get over it if it is. it really makes no sense why he wouldnt be pushing this harder. im not sure if hes talked about it on his show or not. and as far as the profit thing goes, he gives his shit away for free all the time online and has yet to sue anyone for copyright infringement. yes, he probably whores his stuff a bit too much for most peoples taste but its not purely about profit, he clearly believes in his product. no problem there. also, Alex might be having the same problem that many 9/11 truthers seem to have when it comes to Bollyn. the old "anti-semite" accusations are sadly very effective and keep otherwise intelligent truthers from "going there" so to speak. i like to think Alex is a bit smarter than that but he has always shown some apprehension in that area like many truthers. there is no excuse for that.

Everyone knows when you go "there" it's over. Your credibility and reputation are shattered because you're just a batty anti-semite. I'm hoping that's the reason why Alex Jones doesn't back them up. And yet, he's a charlatan if that is in fact where the truth lies. Don't you get tired of him never being specific about who and how it was carried out? If he just keeps on about the nameless bogeymen out there like the "German death cult" and "CFR" and "evildoers" he'll never get the traction we need to make real progress. In this respect, Bollyn is a fearless leader in this cause, more so than Alex Jones. Jones hasn't put it all on the line for truth like Bollyn has. And it's tragic and criminal for Alex Jones to marginalize those who may in fact be uncovering the ultimate truth and details behind it all.

you have to remember that Alex is about much more than just 9/11 though, hes far from a single issue activist. but yes, it does piss me off that hes not backing up Bollyn here and that he refuses to "go there" regularly or be specific in certain areas. but Alex Jones is not the be all end all of the alternative media. he is but one man and he is far from perfect. you shouldnt expect anything from him, he is what he is. though it is indeed cowardly if hes not talking about this for fear of being labeled an anti-semite. sadly thats pretty likely. i think at some point Alex made a tactical decision not to talk about certain things, to self-censor himself in a way. we can argue another time about if thats a smart move or just plain cowardly. i would probably say the latter. ive said it before though, Alex Jones is a net plus and he has forced the red pill down many peoples throats who otherwise might still be asleep. and once people "wake up" its not like Alex Jones is the only place they go to for info(for the most part anyway). would it be better if Alex went where we wanted him to on certain issues? of course, but that doesnt make him "criminal" in my opinion. and yes, Bollyn is clearly a much better researcher when it comes to 9/11, hes one of the best in my opinion.

he's not appealing this verdict? that seems odd. In any case, I don't know that we should trust Bollyn. He has been embroiled in drama after drama, much like Mike Ruppert and a few others, seemingly since the very beginning of the "truth movement". To me this says he was one of the original actors involved in creating the fake truth movement. His role seems to be to play the part of the closet anti-semite so as to have someone to point out as an example of a truther with bad intentions. The fact that he bears a slight resemblance to David Duke might not be a coincidence. Remember, we are meant to think these people are on our side (speaking of the controlled opposition) but in fact it seems just to be a way to define the movement from within. Following their dramas because we think it's a "test case" is more than likely just a trap. One day after you make a lot of noise and tell a lot of people about him there will be some bombshell to come out that will remind you how little you kknew about this person who for some reason you were convinced into defending.
Alex Jones won't talk about him in my opinion because Alex Jones in this whole farce represents a different type from that that Christopher Bollyn is intended to appeal to.... just another day at the reality theatre!

The more recent article on Bollyn (http://911blogger.com/node/9617) mentions that he was convicted of theft and assault in California also, a number of years ago. Now he didn't show up to court and there is a warrant for his arrest. Is this really what the movement needs, people with past criminal convictions and warrants for their arrest? That's probably worse than the fact that he's been a guest on David Duke radio multiple times. David Duke isn't about Zionism, he's about white supremacy, in case anyone wasn't aware. That's white supremacy as in racism, as in black men shouldn't date white women. It gets a lot worse than just being about "Jews."
And according to this page, AFP took in about $20k to 'help' Bollyn . . . quite a take -
