GW's note: When you call, be sure to politely but firmly state that 9/11 is the most important basis for impeachment. You can cite to this essay, this one, or any other solid, fact-checked sources you like.
Remember, Murtha just used the "i" word as well, so momentum may be building.
Remember also, while impeachment is not an ultimate goal, it is the first step, because high-level 9/11 perpetrators cannot be tried criminally until they are out of office.

Notice, alas, the repeat mention of a nuclear device -- a mini-nuke, floated in on a ship or whatever. Several in the administration and/or starting up their campaigns have mentioned this danger -- as though from an outside terrorist source.
Notice also that Sibel Edmonds' testimony would finger several in the administration, or very near it, for selling those sorts of items to "terrorists."
This is a self-inflicted danger.

The cold, hard, terrifying bottom line is that these murderers absolutely CANNOT and WILL NOT EVER take the fall for this. It cannot and will not be allowed to happen. They are perfectly willing to take the entire world down with them should it finally it come to that.
I don't think it ever will come to that.
The Military Commissions Act passed in Sept. 2006 makes it quite simple for the President to declare Martial law for literally any marginally justifiable reason. Another terrorist attack -- dirty bomb/mini-nuke in a port city, chemical attack, bus bombings, coordinated shootings, virtually anything scary -- is certainly a justifiable reason. Many people do not understand that the legal powers granted by this act, once used, can end American democracy as we know it.
Once these powers are used, high profile dissenters will be forced to stop or disapear, and the entire movement will be chilled and effectively ended.
I know it sounds hyperbolic, but please do the research.
I wish I could say I was optimistic about this but I really think it is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

I agree with you basic analysis. Not only can they not take the fall, they and their supporters--ultra-rich/ ultra-ethically impaired--don't know how to do anything else. A couple of evil but saner voices have pulled them back for now(Bush41, James Baker), but they're not by any means retreating. They're just laying low rethinking strategy.
I'm a little optimistic though. One of the best times to push through iron fisted shite was before the last US election. Even suspending the election on a false pretext had a good chance of working--they still had the benefit of momentum from the last 5 years.
That moment is almost lost. The legal ground worked they layed that you mention IS worrying, but they still need a combination of preceived popular support and momentum to drive it home.
So, the evil but sane people may only have one choice: fall back for a decade, let it all die down, continue preparing the legal ground work for their police state and then come out swinging with another False Flag in 2020.
Unfortunately the evil insane people--raving neo cons--are incapable of longterm planning and impatent for results NOW. Even if we had Meacher as PM and Kucinschic(sorry, can't spell right now!) in the White House, these bastards have enough contacts to make another False Flag happen.

Apparently they are taking the calls and recording our opinions, but it's not true that Pelosi is taking a tally.
Here is what I read on another forum:
"I just called the number. I asked if they were specifically taking a tally on Impeachment proceedings. She said "We always take calls on all issues", I said "Yes, but did you ask for a tally SPECIFICALLY".
She said "No sir."

I called (202) 225-0100 yesterday and asked the nice young lady on the other end if this was the Hotline where you could register your vote on the Cheney-Bush Impeachment thing. She said that no, it was the line for the Speaker of the House, and I asked, “well, might I inquire as to when the House Speaker was going to begin the impeachment hearings for Richard Cheney and his friends who engineered and authorized the attacks on our country on September 11, 2001?” She sounded like she wanted to get another job and then thanked me for registering my opinion. We should call her every day and ask her when the impeachment hearings are going start. Those of you out there who are good at doing impressions and voices, use your talents. The E. Howard Hunt voice is easy. Call twice a day.
