Lionel slides into Seder's slot
In a surprise move, talk show veteran Lionel has been tapped to take over Sam Seder's 9A-12P ET midday slot on Air America Radio, beginning May 14, according to radio industry news site All Access.
"Lionel will be an eclectic mixture of current events and off-the-wall topics infused with his special brand of humor," said Air America President Mark Green. "Because he's one of the biggest names in talk radio, Lionel will be a very important addition to our line-up and affiliate base."
"Air America is about one thing: radio. Not about ideology; but democracy. Radio that's an alternative to the usual, bumper sticker Rush wannabe. Radio that's listenable," said Lionel. "My goal is to garner and gather listeners. If you've got a radio, I'm your guy. Listeners want smart, funny, thoughtful, thinking, entertaining talk radio.With that in mind, my first show for Air America will be 'Great Polkas of the 20th Century.'"
Lionel, who's real name is Michael Lebron, has a nighttime show that is currently syndicated via WOR Radio Network, and airs on stations across the country, including many progressive talkers. No word on the future of this show.
Seder will wrap up his weekday show this Friday and will soon debut a Sunday afternoon show, to air 4-7P ET.

This should be really interesting....
....if Air America muzzles him on this topic, it will be patently obvious....given his ever-increasing outspokenness on 9/11. Their gate-keeping reputation encased in stone for all time.
On the other hand (and far more likely, IMO), Lionel will continue as he has and AA deals with 9/11 Truth in a major way.....greatly expanding our reach and giving it legitimacy among liberals. This could be another really nice step forward.

I don't know squat about this lionel guy but if he is speaking 9/11 truth to power then good for him. Maybe he can wake up the zombies still asleep in the false left-right paradigm. Sam Seder was a sickening display of a left-gatekeeper and I am glad he is going bye-bye. Has Randi spoken up pubically yet that 9/11 was an inside job, or does she still dance around the topic? I havent listened to AA since november 2006.

Remember what happened to Mike Malloy. He had Webster Tarpley on among others (DRG, AJ ect.) and was canned a few weeks later. I don't hold out much hope for Air America. I hope I am wrong.
Lionel will not change
I am a hardcore Lionel listener. This guy has integrity. He will not be muzzled. I am certain that he will continue to be just as outspoken regarding 9/11.
This is great news for the Truth Movement.
Ironically, Sam Seder was deathly afraid of 9/11. Sam is a good talk show host. I think had he shown more courage, his show would have done better.

Good news
As pessimistic as I usually am about mainstream or liberal media this comes as a pleasant surprise. There is no way AA cannot be aware of Lionel's voice on 9/11, and on the flipside, the contrast with Sam Seder's discomfort with the issue is strong.
It will be very obvious is Lionel is getting censored on the issue.
Lionel has a nice style
when it comes to 9/11. It seems designed to draw non-savvy listeners into the problems with 9/11. He asks a simple question ('where was NORAD') and then puzzles over it in a way that listeners follow, regardless of their point of view.
Lionel, if you are listening, congratulations and please keep it up!

will muzzle Lionel, there is no way they are going to let him go all Malloy on 9/11.
If AA host weren't muzzled then Malloy would still be there and Randi Roades would be saying more than she does.

I believe Lionel is a former prosecuter/lawyer.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Mike Malloy fan and I stopped listening to Air America when they fired him.
I listen to Alex Jones, Lionel, Webster Tarpley, Kevin Barrett, Randi Rhodes and WBUR (On Point & Here and Now -yes, its propaganda but some of the people calling in are interesting )

I kind of lost a lot of respect for Malloy once he started trying to promote Al Gore for president in 2008 (wtf?). Lionel has some flaws (doesnt want to impeach) but overall hes probably going to be the best radio host next to alex jones & jack blood for 9/11 truth

im surprised, a little back
a little back story on lionel. When Charlie Sheen spoke out he was one of the first radio hosts to report the story. Unfortunately he chose as his first guests on the subject the Wing TV crew. Luckily they were pretty eloquent and ever since he has spoken about it semi regularly. Unlike most left wing radio hosts he actually fully embraces controlled demolition and mainly focuses on the physical evidence anomalies on 9/11. He is probably the best talking head we have right now from outside our bubble besides Rosie Odonnel

I sent Lionel a congrats e-mail with encouragement on 9/11 truth talk (noreply yet).
I also sent Sam an e-mail suggesting that he speak more openly and honestly about the subject of 9/11 truth. I also said that I listened to his show about as much as I listen to Lionel (which is true). The only difference is Lionel speaks about 9/11 Truth and answers every e-mail I have ever sent him.
Sam replied (believe it or not). He did not comment on 9/11 truth, but made a snarky remark about Lionel not receiving as much e-mail and thus being better able to reply.
Sounds like Sam is not entirely supportive of the new direction Air America Radio is taking. Understandably so. Radio can be a tough game.

* Also, we're pleased to announce that Sam Seder will be staying with our Air America family to host a new program from 4-7pm on Sundays called "Seder on Sunday."
