The contents of that panel truck would be very enlightening indeed.

Also, the transcript makes mention of a certain Chief (Feinso?) who arrived on the scene to assist in the investigation. If he or any other participating officer can be sought out, perhaps they can be prevailed upon to shed some light on this matter. After all, according to the the Mineta report it was merely an "innocent delivery truck", therefore the authorities should have no qualms about discussing this incident openly.

The reports cited at the CR timeline corroborate the (unfortunately unsourced) radio tape, however without supporting the claim that the truck exploded, only that it was believed to house a bomb. Did the truck explode? Or was the fear that it was a truck bomb translated by a dispatcher into the false information that the truck had actually exploded?

Note to whoever made the YouTube video: You got the audio from somewhere, so please give the original source or it's useless.

A picture might clarify this. Did the panel truck really show "a plane flying" INTO the WTC? Or did it depict the New York skyline with a plane in the sky, perhaps near the WTC, so that those who just experienced planes flying into the WTC interpret the panel falsely as depicting or celebrating the ongoing events?

Skeptical speculation: Add two dark-skinned drivers pulling up near the impromptu command center and I can totally believe people misinterpreting an innocent image and forming an instant lynch mob, certainly on that day. Then word gets around on the radio, someone not directly at the scene turns suspected car bomb into actual explosion.

Whereas if it exists, a photo of this incident, showing a "painted" panel depicting an unambiguous attack on the WTC with an airplane, would certainly be a smoking gun that something planned and criminal is going on.

According to a report by the Mineta Transportation Institute, the vehicle turns out to be an innocent delivery truck. The report does not state who rented the truck to the Middle Easterners, or why it shows a picture of a plane hitting the WTC.

Given that Osama bin Ladin was being fingered in the media by Jerome Hauer and others shortly after the hits, it is very suspicious that the names of those middle eastern drivers, that of who rented the truck, and why the picture was on the truck were not in the report. If it were a Uhaul with a New York state mural, what's the big deal. Except that I can't find any pictures of Uhauls with the twin towers on the side.

We have been shown so many pictures, given so many names, etc. of suspicious middle easterners AND so many have been detained for extremely long periods for offences and suspicions minor in comparison.

But is it a panel truck or a delivery truck? (A panel truck would be one of those that carry two billboard advertisements on either side in the back, and aren't normally called delivery trucks. These are normally rented to carry an ad - or in this case a "painted mural" - of the client's choosing.)

Both types of truck are mentioned in the CR timeline entry:

there was no reason to exclude Uhaul entirely. I looked for Uhaul paintjobs only because there would be meny pics around. No twin towers though.

Like I said, "if it were a Uhaul...". I am inclined to believe that the idea about it showing a plane flying into the twin towers morphing from a more innocent image of just a plane in the sky because of what had just happened.

I guess the next step would be to search for a pic/video of this truck.
Get names of the persons detained/arrested.
Names of Officers/Dispatchers/bomb squad involved.
Names of persons who rented the truck out. Etc..

Yes, funny how this story comes and goes but never really gets a lot of attention. I am happy to see that DZ posted this.

You can bet the cops that were present at this incident were told to keep their mouths shut. I don't have high expectations as far as having one of them coming forward, but who knows.

But lets also keep a skeptical eye on this, because I get that wary feelin of something planted to distract and send us off to a false path.
If I was to be part of a plan, or know of a plan to crash planes into buildings, what would the very notion of having a painted depiction, as a mural on a truck, showing the plan to call VERY obvious attention to Me, say about My motivation? It says " I did it and I wanted to prove I did it, so I had it depicted on this here truck...So cuff Me" AND while knowing this truck is set with explosives to explode. Doesn't that sound a bit odd?

I really don't know what to make of this. Can any connection be made between this incident and the cordoning off of the area around WTC7? If one wanted to cause a cautionary evacuation, blatancy would probably have helped...

I suspect this was intended to clear the area of witnesses, and most importantly, cameras.
