Hey Danse, do you have more information or documentation on the "dancing Palestinians" hoax? It's obvious the footage was fake, especially since it was near sundown in Palestine when the first plane hit.

This is one of the most insidious examples of media demagoguery imaginable. That footage brought the whole US population into a rage, which directly resulted in the deaths of thousands of Palestinians and Arabs in general.

I have to admit I was one of the ones who fell for it at the time. I remember thinking to myself that I didn't care if the Israelis wiped every one of them out. Amazing the power the media has over us before we know it is controlled.

Anyway, I'd like more detailed proof that the footage was fraudulent. Paul Thompson's Terror Timeline mentions media critic Mark Crispin Miller did an examination of this footage, but I haven't been able to find that. Does anyone know more about this?

Yes, but where is the documentation or proof that this footage is bogus? Does anyone know for certain that those Palestinian kids were celebrating something else, that the footage was shot earlier than 9/11?

I remember seeing pictures of this woman looking shocked after she is told why she had been asked to celebrate. I can't remember where I found those pictures though. Basically, this was a staged propoganda exercise.

I think this fraud is a smoking gun of 911, even though it is not itself a part of the attacks. I think if this thing could be presented to the people, perhaps in the form of a Youtube video, it would set their minds working in the direction that the whole 911 event was orchestrated to frame Arabs/Palestinians. To do this, though, we need irrefutable proof that the "cheering Palestinians" is a hoax.

The shots of celebrating Palestinians were indeed shot shortly after the attack on the WTC but, according to the German magazine Stern, some of Palestinians in the pictures knew nothing of the attack at the time and were celebrating for other reasons. Fatma Hussein told stern she was horrified to see herself on the TV that evening dancing about, apparently in celebration at the attack.

‘Never in my life have I been so ashamed as in that moment,’ said the 45 year-old mother of eight. ‘What does the world think of me? That I celebrate when somewhere thousands of people die in agony?’

She says she was passing the Eiffel sweetshop when she was handed a plate of her favourite Palestinian speciality, Knafeh, a cake made from honey, cheese and caramel sugar. She says a cameraman shouted to her, ‘you can have them if you cheer.’ Fatma cheered and was given the cakes, which she happily ate.

The Jerusalem Times (of 14th Sept, 2001 - the front page of of Vol. VIII, no. 397) apparently interviewed the shopkeeper who sold the sweets. According to the owner of the Juhaina Sweets Shop, he was given 200 shekels and asked to distribute the sweets to the children.

On the 20th September 2001, the German tv-channel "ARD" showed in its program "Panorama" an analysis of the whole film material on the "Dancing Palestinians" which was far more than what was repeatedly shown on TV during the attacks. On those complete sequences one could see that it wasn't a big crowd that was dancing and applauding, but only a very small group of mostly children. They were stirred up by one young man. On the few scenes that weren't close-ups of this group, one could see, that the rest of the street was calm and people passing by were rather puzzled when they saw the crowd cheering.

The German newspaper Spiegel commented on the investigation by Panorama, and said that footage showing the whole road was not shown, but focussed on only small groups of people, giving the impression that there was a large crown, when there was only a few individuals.

The purpose of this propoganda was simple. The US had just been attacked. It was a psychological operation. There was no need for the buildings to be demolished by explosives, because simply crashing planes into the buildings would have had a great effect too. However, the point of bringing the buildings down was to increase the magnitude of the terror, so that people would be mentally completely shocked, and prepared to do what the government asked them to do next. It was a psy-op. That is why the media, in those first few hous while people were very susceptible, kept repeating these pictures again and again to reinforce in the mind of the public that the enemy is Muslims.

Also bear in mind that when asked what the (Sept 11) attack meant for relations between the United States and Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, the former prime minister, replied, "It's very good." Then he edited himself: "Well, not very good..."
