Farewell Interview with Dr. Paul Craig Roberts

Alex Jones welcomes back to the show economist and a nationally syndicated columnist Paul Craig Roberts, who recently announced his journalistic retirement in an article entitled “Truth Has Fallen and Taken Liberty With It.” He served as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan Administration. Mr. Roberts is the author of several books, including The Tyranny of Good Intentions: How Prosecutors and Bureaucrats Are Trampling the Constitution in the Name of Justice and How the Economy Was Lost: The War of the Worlds.

Paul Craig Roberts expresses his frustration with the censorship of 9/11 and why he is no longer going to write his bi-weekly column for such sites as Counterpunch and AntiWar.com. He explains that if people can't deal with 9/11 they can't adequately deal with any of the other important topics we are needing to deal with as well.

Paul Craig Roberts was an editor of the Wall Street Journal and an Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury. His latest book, HOW THE ECONOMY WAS LOST, has just been published by CounterPunch/AK Press. He can be reached at: PaulCraigRoberts@yahoo.com

So, he is pissed because the sites he has been

writing for will not let him mention the elephant in the room. PCR, just forget about Antiwar.com and Countergatekeeper. crap.....come on home to 9/11blogger. Write your heart out here.

Use your talents where they will be welcome and do much to help us reach critical mass.

Or not! Thank you PCR and respect for what you have given!

I hope he does do as you say, but I wish him well and any peace he can find at 71.

PCR the legend has met the elephant, danced around it to show it it's big ass and was shit on for pointing it out:)

Good luck Paul and thanks for the kick in our ass...let the youth step forward!

Respect John

One of the most important interviews I have ever heard!

Roberts being real to awaken the already awake, to realize we are it!

Step up people, and be what you were chosen to be. We are...you are the leaders, so start setting the example.

Truth to power and take the power back!

In solidarity John

In solidarity? So you're quitting too?

I truly appreciate what Mr. Roberts has done and written and spoken about.

I do not admire this tack.

If he finds writing his columns ineffectual then I have news for him: there was a couple of fellows named Ghandi and ML King who put their lives on the line for what they believed. They didn't write "columns."

Would PCR chain himself to the White House fence and refuse food for the cause?

If I had his notarity and celebrity, that's what I'd do, for damn sure.

Sorry. Quitters piss me me off.

Respect, good health and long life, Mr. Roberts. I hope you re-think your position.

nycguy

Fair!

I just think he is playing this card in desperation for the GOOD of all brother?

The examples you list are very pointed indeed and this may be a turning point in the quest, PCR may re-ingage just as he may read what is written here...well lets hope:)

Best John

Perhaps!

I hope so, my brother.

Sober bad news.....................

sorry but I couldn't really disagree with anything said in this interview. Dr. Roberts delivers the bad news to a stricken country. It would seem that the leaders of our demise have run rough shot over all of us for so long and with so much latitude that they have lost perspective on reality. What will they do next in the quest of world domination. Most likely continue to try various power moves in the mideast and central asia and eventually either form a power sharing arrangement with china and russia or something much more sinister. Someone needs to write a fictional account of how the world finally wakes up to save itself. Then perhaps we could have a script to follow someday in the future. Right now the greediest people are running the world instead of the smartest, unless the smartest people are in fact the greediest. Power to the people!

Thank you Paul Craig Roberts.

You have been beacon of candid truth, rare insight and common sense. I respect your decision, but wish you would reconsider.

Paul Craig Roberts has done a great deal of good for the 911 Truth cause. For that we should all be grateful, regardless of his future plans.

Well said!

We must respect people like Roberts who destroyed much for our cause, a true hero!

Kind regards John
