Today is a special day.  For the last three weeks, your phone calls and faxes have worked like a steam roller, paving the way for NYC CAN and courageous council members to begin to raise the discussion about opening a real investigation into the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.  Today we bring this marathon effort to a close by making a statement that will resonate through City Hall.

Rather than contacting three council members, we are contacting only one - the most powerful member of the City Council, the Speaker, Christine Quinn.  Our goal is to reach 1,000 phone calls, which will amount to one phone call every 30 seconds.  This tactic is not arbitrary - in order to get through to Christine Quinn we need a gigantic show of support, and it only takes two minutes of your time.

Special Instructions

If you are not an architect or engineer, we ask you to make a phone call to Speaker Quinn's office, rather than sending a fax, because flooding her office with phone calls is a priority. 
 
But here's the catch: the paper trail will be in the letters that NYC CAN and Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth are asking every architect and engineer to fax to the Speaker's office.
 
The phone calls will capture the Speaker's attention, and the faxes will give her office a hard copy of our message signed by a qualified architectural or engineering expert. 
 
So, if you've been sending faxes for the last three weeks, and you are a NYC CAN supporter but not an architect or engineer, we ask you to switch gears and make that one all-important phone call today.  Don't worry, the script is very easy, and you may not have to speak for more than a few seconds. 
 
But, if you are an architect or engineer, we ask you to take 10 minutes to either copy/paste the form letter below, or to compose your own letter to the Speaker.  We strongly prefer you to fax your letter, but if you don't have access to a fax machine, you can also email it.

The Script for Phone Calls

•    Hello, my name is _________.  I would like to leave a message for the Speaker to ask that she take measures to investigate the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.  Who should I speak with?

You will either be transferred to someone else, or the receptionist will say, “you can speak with me”, or the receptionist will say, “Thank you, we will let the Speaker know”.  If you are given time to elaborate on your message, you say:

•    I would like to inform the Speaker that:

i.    A third building called World Trade Center Building 7 also collapsed on September 11th.  This building housed the Office of Emergency Management’s Emergency Operations Center.

 
ii.    The federal government issued a report saying that office fires caused this building to collapse, however, there is overwhelming physical and testimonial evidence that this building was brought down with the use of explosives.

 
iii.    In response, 1,100 architects and engineers have signed a petition calling for a new investigation because the federal government’s report is deeply flawed and unscientific.

•    Be sure to thank the person you are speaking with.

Dear Speaker Quinn:
 
I am a signatory to the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth petition signed by over 1,100 architectural and engineering professionals calling for a new investigation into the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.  You can learn more about our organization at AE911Truth.org.
 
(Briefly explain your training and experience)
 
At around 5:20pm on the afternoon of September 11, 2001, World Trade Center Building 7 collapsed into its footprint at near freefall speed.  WTC 7 was a 47-story steel-frame high-rise, located on the north side of the WTC complex, and it housed the NYC Office of Emergency Management's Emergency Operations Center on its 23rd floor. 
 
In 2008, an agency of the federal government called the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) issued a report concluding that office fires alone caused this building to collapse, however, there is overwhelming physical and testimonial evidence that this building was brought down with the use of explosives.
 
This evidence merely confirms what my knowledge as an (architect/engineer) would lead me to conclude upon seeing footage of WTC 7's collapse.  Steel-frame high-rises do not collapse suddenly, symmetrically and at freefall speed into tidy piles of rubble because of office fires. 
 
I urge you to work with your colleagues in the City Council to take the appropriate measures to open an investigation into the destruction of this building.

The NYC Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN), together with representatives of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, have met with several members of the City Council, all of whom support an investigation and are committed to building support among their fellow council members.  I urge to you to meet with NYC CAN and to join your colleagues in working to open an investigation.
